Drowning in the atmosphere (Open to Grayline)

Kris winked at Haruhi, "I try." Kris slid down and sat against the wall, he honestly couldn't believe that worked. He smoked his cigarette and closed his eyes, what did he do? He hadn't seen a wound like that before, it was gruesome. Kris looked at the ceiling. "He needs some more training," Kris said jokingly, he laughed and put his cigarette out with his fingers.

"Whatever...you woulda died.." JaK said to Kris sitting up and gripping his stomach. "Ugh.." JaK didn't feel like giving them details, so instead he sat quietly and tried to block out the images of all that had transpired.

"Well I guess you all know about my other hobby by now, besides drumming."

"Careful." As he sat up, Haruhi kept a hand on his back to help him prop up and also just incase he felt dizzy or faint. She was relieved to see him awake and sitting. She wiped her cheeks with her sleeves and formed a smile and then a soft, nervous chuckle at Kris's comment. What scared Haruhi more than anything was the thought of losing those closest to her, and although their band was freshly new. She already felt a strong bond of friendship between them.

Cynthia grumbled "what the heck do you think you were trying to pull off JaK? I thought the whole point of the band was that we were neither good or evil, we walked the line between. How would you have expected us to find a new drummer hm? You need to think before you throw yourself into dangerous situations!" she said, she sounded like a scolding mother but she couldn't help it, she was letting all her fear and worry out in the form of anger.

Bow had flown high and low, searching everywhere in the storm. But with no luck. She flew back to the dojo and walked in with her head down and growling at herself. She was drenched as she walked back through the doors and joined the others. She sat down next to JaK, but made sure that she didn't touch him while wet. Her voice was shaky and quiet. "...S-sorry, JaK... I-I couldn't find her..."

Kris chuckled at JaK, "I woulda survived." Kris lit up another smoke, "That's what I do, survive. From Atlantic City to Jump City, I'm a survivor." Kris leaned back, taking a nice long drag as he remembered his life, "Ah, what a messed up adventure it's been."[/color][/color]

JaK rubbed the back of his head as Cynthia scolded him. "Sorry if my rock band wasn't the first ones I turned to in a scrap." He looked down, "Besides, I had something to prove." That's when Bow came in and said she couldn't find her. "It's no problem," JaK said getting up. "I already did. Physically, she'll be fine." JaK was saddened by the thought of Energy Warrior - there was pain etched on his face emotionally at the mention of her, that much was apparent.

JaK heard Kris's comment and raised a poised eyebrow at him. "Oh? Atlantic City huh? Come to think of it," JaK sat back down, moving to much was painful. "we still don't know much about each other."

JaK looked to all four of them. "Not much to tell about me anyway, I guess." He looked at his hand. "This all happened because I was in with some guys who were career crooks, I helped them from time to time for a place to stay. I got caught one day, tried to get away, wandered into an off-limits construction site where I found some...some...freaky looking huge space crystal. Of course I got too close and now I can make a door out of a brick wall at the snap of a finger." JaK clenched his hand into a fist as if it all still bothered him, not knowing how he turned out this way. He looked to the other members to tell a little about themselves.

"So you were granted superpowers?" Haruhi asked, "most of the metas I know were born with them, me being one of them." She began, "I was born with the powers and physiology of a cat. The strength, the speed, agility, reflexes, even got the ears and tail." She morphed out her cat ears, and swayed her cat tail back and forth. She even dilated her pupils into thin slits, but quickly changed them back.  "There used to be a time in my life, when I hated having powers, hated being different. You know the usual story of not being accepted because you were "special". Being called a freak, monster, abomination, all that sweet jazz. But thanks to one person, I learned to accept it, the powers, even the looks that came with them."

Cynthia pulled up a chair and sat down, since everyone was telling each other about themselves she may as well too "I was also born with my powers, but they didn't begin to develop...or at least I didn't notice I had them until I took up guitar lessons at age 10, that's when I found out I could manipulate sound and such, my vibration powers came later into my teens, which came as a surprise when I had my teenage temper tantrums" she said calmly before her face saddened "at the age of 12 my mother committed suicide, we discovered later that she had been having an affair with another guy so we could only guess it was because of that, since then I was raised by my dad and two older brothers, I have all four of them tattooed on my back so no-matter where I go or what I do, I'll never forget about them" she spoke before she stood up and lifted the back of her shirt up, showing them her tattoo running across her back and shoulder blades. An ornate and beautifully designed tattoo with portraits of her family between vines of thorns and roses.

Cynthia then pulled her shirt back down and sat back down as she looked to the group "so yeah, I grew up in a place called Lurgan in Northern Island, near this big lake called Lough Neagh, not much trouble with school since I just tried to not use my powers and stay calm so I could control my vibration powers, at the age of 15 me and my band at the time, the Shamrock Shackles, went around England in a VW Camper-van, just the four of us, we did tons of stuff and played everywhere" she said with a nostalgic sigh "so after that fizzled out I wanted a little bit of a change and decided to come over here to seek out another band, and, well...here I am" she finished.

Bow listened to all of her band mates talk about the origin of their powers and background, and sensed it was her time to speak up, considering they were all looking expectantly at her. She bit her lip and blushed lightly, looking down at the ground, wishing now that she had stayed out in the storm. Her voice was soft and seemed on the verge of cracking as she whispered. "Umm... Well... I moved to Jump about a year ago from New York City... Though I don't really umm... remember much of there... I-I'm really not sure how I got my powers... I-I think I was born with them?... A-anyway... My only family now is my dad... Who lives here and is awesome and stuff! but... *sigh* ...yeah... That's... me? Kinda... i don't know..." She growled at herself for not being able to talk about this stuff normally like they were.

She bit her lip and looked up at all of them, blushing brightly. "...I-I don't even know everyone's powers here... I control elements... Fire, water, earth, and well... I can fly... They're powered by emotions... I've been wondering lately if any other emotions hold power for me, but... Those are all I've found for now..." She giggled lightly and smiled, looking around the circle much more relaxed, talking about this...

Kris nodded, "Who wants coffee, I want coffee." Kris wasn't about to talk about his past, so he walked into the kitchen. Once there he started to make the coffee and sat at the table, grasping his head, reliving it all, the homelessness, his mother being gunned down, the Guild, the horrible training, everything. The only good part about his past is Axle. Kris sighed, was this his lot in life, criminal, no matter where he goes, he was a squatter, a thief, an assassin, a thug. In Crash Alley, he was as close to a hero as he can get, it was a painful realization, but he shook his head and poured himself a cup and started to drink it, away from the others.

"It's ok Bow, and I'm pretty sure horrid pasts go round here." JaK clasped his hands tightly together. "I lost my parents before I could write a sentence." JaK said with pain in his voice. "I don't even remember what they looked like anymore." JaK got desperately quiet. He couldn't talk anymore for the moment....

....Then....

"And my baby just died..." JaK said quietly, as a tear rolled down his cheek. He had no family. This band was his only family now, so maybe he should start treating them like it and tell them the truth.

Haruhi listened to her bandmates intently, listening to each of them reveal a bit of their past and about themselves. Then Jak was talking again, and she noticed the tear roll down his cheek as he told them what had just happened, how he had recently lost his child. Haruhi couldn't think of anything to say, I mean what one say to that. All she could think of was to hug him, which she did, she gave him a tight yet gentle hug to show that she cared and was here for him, and for all of her bandmates. When let go she looked around at all her bandmates. "It looks like we've all gone through our rough times, all had our losses. But now we have eachother, we're more than just bandmates, we're teammates, heck we're friends, and I'm hoping we'll grow together far beyond that to where we can call eachother family." She said then chuckled nervously as she listened to herself speak, "that did sound a bit cheesy didn't it. It's just how I like to view things."
