Remember This Name (Kris)

"Ember McLain?"

The secretary of the school looked over the documents at the 'new student', Ember who stood in front of her. "And you've just transferred here, correct?" Ember stuttered for a second out of nervousness. "Yes ma'am...Just the other day."

The secretary sighed and typed something in on her computer, raising an eyebrow. "Is this a joke?" She asked Ember sarcastically, turning her computer around. There was a record of an 'Ember McLain' attending Murakami High back in 1975-1976, before her untimely death. That was...definitely her. Ember looked at the document with a misleading quizzical look. "Weird, I've never heard of someone else with the name Ember...especially not back in the day, but McLain has to be pretty common, right?"

The secretary looked at Ember for a bit longer before checking her registration papers again. It seemed legit, and Ember knew it would. It took some work finding someone willing to forge those, and it wasn't cheap. "OK, I see your point." The woman finally said, typing something else into her computer before printing out and handing it to Ember. "This will be your class schedule. You wanted Music Education, right?" Ember nodded and took the schedule, reading it over. "Thank you very much." She said with a light smile and heading out of the office. 17B, she knew where that room was! That used to be her science class!

After about 20 minutes of searching, it became obvious that the classrooms had changed in the past 40 years, as well as some of the hallways, and just about all the teachers. It didn't matter though, she doubted any would recognize her. As she finally rounded the corner to the music education room, she found a note on the door from the teacher. "I'm out today, do what you want. I don't care." Was all the note said.

Ember slowly opened the door to the room and found it mostly deserted, excluding some amps and sheet music littered around, which was definitely a good thing. Closing the door, she spawned her guitar out of a mass of blue fire and walked toward some of the amps, looking them over. The technology had gotten a lot more advanced in the years she'd been gone. She didn't know how to work any of it...

A black haired, auburn eyed teenager wearing a Rocky Horror Picture Show T-shirt, black skinny jeans with a studded belt, black converse, and a bunch of bracelets walked in with a three other kids, "Listen, we've got one week until the talent show, let's do this!" One boy got behind the drums, another picked up a bass, the third picked up a guitar, the leader picked up a guitar, got behind the mic, and started to play.

Ember stood in the corner with the amps, not feeling any discomfort from standing next to them. She was already a ghost after all. Upon the song's conclusion, she clapped slowly and steadily. "Not bad. Not too bad. Pretty swell actually." She said, picking her guitar off of the amp and walking forward, smiling. "Ember." She said, holding out her hand and smiling.

The boy saw the girl and smiled and walked towards her, meeting her half way, "Kristoff." He smiled and took her hand, "You actually liked the song? We've been working on it forever." He laughed and scratched the back of his neck as he always did when he was nervous. This girl, Ember, Seemed pretty chill, and Kris could always need a new friend.

Ember's expression changed entirely when Kristoff turned around. That face was...uncanny. He looked exactly like the man who ended her life. Looking over his shoulder at the other members of the band, she made a motion toward the door. "You boys wanna scoot? I need to talk to your...friend."

The three of them looked at each other and shook their head, the drummer chimed up at Kris loudly as they walked out, "Don't take too long, lover boy!" Kris flipped him off and looked at Ember. "What's up?" Kristoff asked, noticing her change in expression, she seemed mad.

Ember waited until the door closed, and the second it did she shoved him with all her strength into a wall. "Have you EVER had a relative named Tim? EVER?!" She growled, her guitar now holstered on her back. "Tell me!"

Kris pushed her off, "I wouldn't know! I only know my brother and my mom left before I even thought about asking about my bastard of a dad!" Kris dusted off his shirt, "What's going on?"

Ember inhaled deeply, trying to calm herself down. "Then don't worry about it." She growled, walking back to the door and keeping her guitar there, storming out. Was it skipping class? Technically, but its not like that stupid teacher was there anyway! Storming down the hall, she turned intangible and walked through the wall and into the auditorium. At least that was still where it belonged. Now she slumped down into a seat, mentally exhausted.

Kris sighed and reached for his bag, but he, being the moron he was, left his bag in the auditorium. He walked out, humming. He spotted Ember in there, so he went in the further way, to sneak in and out. He would let her cool off before trying to approach her again.

Ember groaned and spawned her guitar. Not much left to do but try to calm her nerves. Out of muscle memory, she almost checked to make sure it was tuned, not that it ever wasn't. Ghost guitars were just cool like that. After a couple of chords, she slowly started to play it and sing softly.

OOC: (You knew it was coming)

Kris sat and llistened, enthralled by the beautiful song, whe she was done, he clapped, giving away his position. He quickly got his bag and stood up. He then thought screw it and walked up to her, grinning, "Pretty swell." He scratched the back of his neck.

Ember jumped at the unexpected applause, dropping her guitar in the process. The neck smacked off of the chair and it hit the ground, not a single dent in it. That ghost guitar durability, ya know? Bending down and picking up her guitar, dusting it off she pretended to be more worried about her guitar than anything else, hiding her blush. "Uh...yeah, thanks..." She muttered.

Kris looked worriedly at the guitar, "Your guitar okay? I know a great person who fixes them." Kris began rambling about them nervously, he normally never lost his cool like this, what got over him, maybe he was getting sick. "I'm just gonna shut up now."

Ember nodded, putting her neck strap on to sheathe her guitar on her back. Standing up, she shoved her hands in the pockets of her leather pants. "My guitar is perfectly fine. It's super durable." She took a quick look around the auditorium and cleared her throat. "Sorry I uh...went off on you Ti-...her...Kris."
