New Kids On The Block

A positive vibe couldn't help but overcome Cloud as he saw Power Play fall to the ground. Up until then he'd felt like he was just flying around and getting his butt handed to him. Seeing his defenses finally get penetrated reassured him that he was still in the fight. He still had a chance. He couldn't revel in his success for long, however, as Power Play quickly got to his feet and returned by charging at him with two spiked ice fists. "That can't be good," he observed as the ice wielder began skating on his new icy path towards Jake.

Cloud decided to take a leap of faith and...do a leap of faith. As he was standing on the edge of the roof, he fell backwards, spreading his arms out and let gravity be his escape, an ice spike skimming his hair and shaving a line down the side of his hair. Before he made contact with the harsh concrete street, he took flight and glided at break-neck speeds about an inch above the asphalt. "Wayy too close," he admitted, thinking out loud.

He would then adjust his flight pattern and double back towards Power Play. "Catch me if you can Frosty!" he yelled a little too confidently as he'd zoom directly above Power Play. He'd be flying around buildings and through windows, hoping to get Mr. Negative Kelvin to take the bait.

Sure enough, Frosty did his best to tail Cloud's flight pattern with a myriad of freezing projectile powers and weapons. Jake did his best weave out of the way of most of the strikes but Power Play was persistent, not giving up very easily. Although Cloud was probably fast enough to outrace his adversary, dodging his strikes slowed him down enough so that they were keeping a near even pace.

"You were never really known as a deadshot, were you?" he yelled back, attempting to discourage and demean him. However, as turned to mock him, Power Play laid on a tough shot directly to his right leg, encasing it in ice. The extra weight made him swerve off and down, crashing into the street.

As he made contact with the street, another ray froze him to the ground. He tried to free himself, but the casing was too thick for him to free himself. "Dangit." he grunted, annoyed as he leaned his head back onto the building wall behind him, he closed his eyes for a moment, wondering what would become of him when the boy would catch up to him. If he would have mercy on him.

He closed his eyes as the boy approached with a spear-like icicle, thinking that he was going to be finished. Just as he thought he would be slain however, the boy topped. Cloud opened his eyes and blinked a couple of times, confused and bewildered. "Wait, you're telling me that you aren't the guy behind this?" he said, turning his head slightly to the side.

"Well, what do we do from here?" he asked utterly lost. "Is there someone you know that's out to get you? I don't think I've made any enemies..."

He sat there and wriggled for a moment as the ice connecting him to the wall seemed obviously uncomfortable. He did start to relax a bit more now, though, since he knew he wasn't defending his life or about to lose it. As his muscles relaxed, though, the scars of battle started to sting as his adrenaline was wearing off. This kid had fire power...maybe he wasn't ready to take on being a hero yet...he'd have to train more...
