| Power Play===IDENTITY=== Full Name: Jason Kovaks Nickname(s): Kovi Codename: Power Play Alias(es): N/A Age: 16 Classification: Metahuman Affiliation: Good
===PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION=== Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Crystal Blue Height: 6ft Weight: 189lbs Other Traits: He has his hair shaved short on the sides with the top a bit lengthy and spiked up a bit up front. Also his build is very muscular, an athletic build.
===POWERS=== Powers:
- Ice Manipulation: Power Play possesses the power to instantly decrease the temperature of ambient water vapor in his immediate environment to below zero degrees Celsius, thereby freezing it into ice. In this manner he is able to quickly form a great variety of ice structures, including projectiles, shields, weapons, etc. He can make structures as big as the size of a small sedan, but he really would not be able to move it because of its weight. He could move only about half of it with general easiness. He often makes ice slides which form rapidly beneath and behind his feet, moving him along the slick surface at high speeds. Power Play is also able to shoot ice beams from his hand, but his max range at the moment is only about fifteen yards. Power Play can also go into an ice form where his body becomes ice but is still completely functional. He is able to hold this form for an hour if he concentrates and does not exert a lot of energy. When he moves around and gets distracted he can hold it at best for thirty minutes. Power Play usually only lets smaller portions of his body go into ice form, like his fists, because he is able to hold the form longer. In his ice form he becomes bullet proof against handguns and sub-machine guns, but anything of a higher caliber would break through. Also with enough shots in a concentrated area, it could cause his ice armor to break. Be a controller of ice also has given him a higher tolerance to cold temperatures.
Skills:
- Hockey: Jason easily already a D1 or even professional level player when it comes to hockey. He has a very good natural ability at the game and he also works hard. His skills with a puck are amazing and he flies on the ice. The ice and hockey rink are basically his home. He could make the puck into the goal if he were only given a hole that would just let the puck slide in from the other side of the rink. The power and speed he could put behind his puck is amazing and he has great control with the puck when skating with it. He also enjoys outdoor hockey and is basically just as good.
- Brawler: Every hockey player gets into their fair share of fights, but Jason gets into more than he should. Since his skills are pretty high up there he usually has a target on his head from other players. Jason of course is not a fighting expert, but he has a lot of fighting experience from hockey fights and even outside of the rink. He is able to hold his own in a fight, but not against a highly skilled individual.
- Hockey-Stick-Fu: When deciding to become a superhero, Jason knew that he was going to have to pick a weapon to become skilled with and of course he chose his hockey stick. He's practiced his own moves with his stick and has pretty great control over it. He learned how he could parry other weapons, knock things out of people's hands, and other skills. Also he uses his powers to make ice pucks to hit them at people with great precision. He still has a lot to learn in fighting, but he has the basics down.
Weaknesses:
- Human: When not covered in ice he is still a normal teenage boy that is susceptible to gunshot wounds, stabbings, and being beaten up. He could be drugged, intoxicated, etc. Any way that you could think of killing a human would most likely work on Power Play.
- Lack of Water: This applies to both in the air and his own body. If there is no water in the air, then his powers will not work. Also his powers grow weaker when he is dehydrated and could get to the point where he cannot use his powers.
- Hot Head: Jason can be a bit of a hot head in most situations, which is how he gets coaxed into fighting and what not. The fuse on him is pretty short and a lot of things can really get him riled up. This is a weakness because this could easily bait him into doing something stupid in a situation.
- His Dad: Bringing up his dad is just a wound that strikes him deep. This could either cause him to go into a sort of blind rage or become overwhelmed with tears. Either way it does not help him.
Equipment:
- Custom Skates: Power Play has a pair of custom skates that he had built for him that can switch between roller blades, roller skates, and a regular pair of boots. On his belt he has the three buttons that cause the shoes to switch between different modes. This is basically his main means of transportation.
- Hockey Stick: This is just your regular high quality hockey stick. Not much really special about it except that he has them custom made with Power Play written on them.
- Hockey Equipment: He has a comfortable fitting skating helmet, goggles, shin and knee guards that give the look of all being attached, both arms wrapped up, and a pair of hockey pants and a hockey undershirt to provide some protection with a custom #13 jersey that has Power Play written on the back where the name should be.
===PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE=== Personality:
- Jason does not really possess the personality that your typical hero does. He is very much a womanizer and is a constant flirt. He is not completely the typical jock because he does not boast around like he's all that and whatever, but he still is considered one of the "popular kids" in school. He is very much a hot head and can easily be coaxed into getting into fights with other people. Underneath his exterior presentation of himself he does try to have the best intentions of others. Him becoming a hero is what really shows that he's willing to put his life on the line for another person and he does have some genuine good in him.
Strengths:
- Hard Worker: Jason works very hard in whatever he does. He does very well in school because he applies himself very well, he practices hard to be good at hockey, etc. Whatever task you give him, he'll go above and beyond to complete it. His work ethic helps to keep him going when fighting crime cause he does not like failure. You can bet that he's going to do his best at whatever he does.
Interests/Habits:
===PERSONAL BACKGROUND=== Family Members:
- Mother: Breanne Kovaks (43)
- Father: Daniel Kovaks (Deceased)
- Brother: Michael Kovaks (12)
Place of Origin: Toronto, Canada Current City: Jump City History:
- Jason was born in the city of Toronto from his two loving parents Breanne and Daniel. Jason's father played hockey when he was a young boy and passed the tradition onto his eldest son Jason. From when Jason could start walking and eventually skating he had a hockey stick in his hand. The thing that really kept Jason playing was the fact that he was good at the sport. He would usually be the best player on the ice when he played kids his age and not too far away from being one of the best when he played with the older kids. Jason's dad put him in a good elementary and middle school where the hockey competition was intense. When Jason was in 7th Grade he had discovered his powers accidentally when he was drinking a cup of water and sneezed in it, which froze the glass. Yeah not your typical way of discovering your powers, but that's how it happened. He kept it a secret from everyone even his family until he was about to start 8th grade, when he told his dad about his powers. They were in the car at the time and somehow this lead to an argument between both of them because Jason took after his dad and was a hot head. Jason lost control of his powers and caused frost to cover up the windshield. This caused his dad to get into a head on collision with another car. Most of the damage occurred on the driver's side of the car, which caused his father to be killed in the accident. Jason was knocked unconscious due to the airbag and had just a broken nose with a few scrapes from shattered glass.
The start of Jason's eight grade year was very depressing. He continued to play hockey in honor of his father. At this time though Jason got into a lot more fights on and off the ice. He became a more aggressive player, but still continued with his work ethic. By the end of his his year the whole family just had to get out of town. This is when Jason's mother decided to move to Jump City in America. Jason and his brother attended school there and of course continued to play hockey. Jason started getting the urge that he wanted to do something more with his powers and a good way to honor his father. He decided to fight crime. In his mind he believes that by doing enough good for others it would right his wrong in the past. Eventually he became the hockey themed character known as Power Play.
