Since this is a Free Roleplay, I won't make too many rules, but there are a few that MUST stand. These are as follows:

0. You don't have to catch any pokemon or collect gym badges if you don't want to. The main goal is just to have fun while writing storyline or adventures for your characters, which from experience is much easier when you travel with another roleplayer. So try to group up with one or two others if possible.
1. This is a never ending story, so please make your post quality and take your time designing your travels and/or adventures. Also, know what happens is completely up to you, no moderator will check to make sure you beat Gym leaders in a normal manner or that you're not blowing up pokemon centers.
2. You can start out anyway you please and by that I mean, you can be 10 or 45 years old, etc. You can be a master already, a fresh academy student, a rocket, or even a pokemon.
3. Battles against other roleplayers work off a system, which I will post below. You don't have to use the system, but know any disputes that arise from not using it will not be tolerated if they turn into flame wars.
4. Pokemon's entire movesets are already known from the moment you catch them, meaning you're not limited to four moves. (You can limit them however if you want and train them to learn more or limit them, it's your choice.) Also, the moves you use must be in the pokemon's moveset or at least learnable. However, I'll let basic stuff like tackle and watergun, leer or lick slide. Check Bulbapedia or online if you're not sure if the pokemon knows the move you want to use.
5. Make sure when you catch a Pokemon it's in the right situation. As in don't catch water pokemon in grassy fields.
6. Follow all typical forum rules, such as no sex, no killing canon characters, no cursing every 4 words, etc.
7. You can only carry six Pokemon with you at one time. The rest will be transported to storage or your home via satellite network for safe keeping. Kind of like Star Trek beaming technology or transporters. However, you can have them follow you around or live at your home too.
8. You may use liquid time in this RPG and make as many characters as you can handle, meaning you can be in all regions at once. Just make sure to complete a thorough app for each one. You also roleplay your pokemon and your trainers.
9. The goal in this RPG is to travel to each reigon while having adventures and collecting gym badges/pokemon/friends as you go along. Since not everyone your character comes across will be someone from the forum, it's safe to say that the thread will consist of many NPC's. You can also travel with NPC's, but not canon Gym leaders.
10. You can see legendary Pokemon travel with and battle them if it's part of your storyline, but don't catch them. However, you can have baby legendaries, but the original's must remain uncatchable and the babies have to be weaker.
11. OC's and made up characters/towns are completely fine, it's your story, you can have your character be the leader of a village. A superhero or even the president if you want. Yes, you can also be a canon character from the show, but stay within certain guidelines for them. EX: Ash would not trade Pikachu!
12. Gym Leaders will be played by yourself or other roleplayer's if you want. Doubles competition can occur if two roleplayers want to battle together for a badge too. Also you can trade pokemon to evolve them with another roleplayer, or you can use special items as evolution stones and other types of pokemon like Haunter just evolve normally.
Battle System:- Spoiler:
.Each pokemon can dodge exactly 3 times per battle, blocking counts as dodging
.Each Pokemon has 35 health
.No move can 1 hit KO a pokemon
.Each hit does 10 damage
.Type effective attacks do 15 damage
.Non-effective attacks do 5 damage
.Status effects that immobilize cause players pokemon to lose their next turn
.Status effects that siphon health take 2 extra damage from that pokemon for the rest of the battle after each turn
.Power up effects increase that pokemon's attack power by 5 damage
.No using potions or status heals during battle, only afterwards
. Health gaining moves replenish your pokemon 5 health
.Evasive moves or counters allow you to dodge/block without utilizing one of your 3 dodges
.If the move would only work in the game and not the anime, it doesn't work for roleplay either. DONT USE IT!
.Moves that weaken your attack, weaken it by 3 points of damage

.Moves that need a turn to charge do double damage when they hit, but the charge takes up your turn
