Bradley Quincent Bell

Bradley Bell - Ghost 2769078087_6ab0d7ef3f

Hero Mode

Spoiler:

Ghost's Specter

Spoiler:

===IDENTITY===

Full Name: Bradley Quincent Bell
Nickname(s): N/A
Codename: Ghost
Alias(es): N/A
Age: 16
Classification: Altered Human
Affiliation: Hero

===PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION===

Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 6’1’’
Weight: 120 lbs
Other Traits: He's a fairly skinny guy for his age and height.

===POWERS===

Powers:
Telekinesis - Although technically he should be able to lift anything with his mind, he can't quite get past the concepts of weight. So, the heaviest he can lift with his mind would be about 400 pounds. Something that heavy couldn't really be moved quickly, though. Something very small like a pencil could be flung at up to 100 miles per hour, becoming much more lethal.

Flight - He can manipulate his body to soar through the skies! He can fly up to 80 miles per hour on a nice day. It would be less considering wind chill or other rough conditions.

Limited Telepathy - He can create a link between himself and up to five other people to have discussions. He can't read minds, but, he can send messages and someone that he created a link with can send messages back. While doing this, he has to close his eyes.

Spectral Sight - When he closes his eyes, his mind can break away from his body. He basically becomes an invisible ethereal being that can go through walls and listen in on conversations or see things across the world. The problem is that, if his body gets knocked roughly while his mind is far away, his specter gets whipped back into his body roughly and can cause lethal brain damage if he is far enough away. If he gets whipped back after traveling about three hours away (flight time) he would become brain dead. That translates to about 300 miles. He can communicate in this form by touching someone. They will sense a presence and will form a temporary link.

Skills:
He's a pretty good piano player!

A bit above average intellect, but, by no means a genius.

Weaknesses:
Quite often while using his powers, Bradley closes his eyes and his mind is away from his body, leaving him vulnerable. If his mind is too far away and he is knocked roughly, he could be flung back to his body and die.

He isn't sure what would happen if his body would be moved while his mind, or his 'specter', was away. As far as he knows, he can stay out indefinitely, but, he wouldn't be able to instantly know where his body was. He would have to search for it.

He's slightly clumsy outside of flying. It's strange how someone so graceful in the air can be so bumbling on the ground.

While in specter form, he can still be seen in mirrors, through pictures and over cameras. Similar to actual ghosts.

Also, while in his physical form, he is human. No super strength, super speed, invulnerability. Nothing. If he gets shot, he's probably going to die. If he gets stabbed, he's probably going to die. If he is stuck with a bomb that detonates...yeah...he's probably gonna die...

Equipment:
Just some dog tags that his father gave him. The read "Ghost" because that's become his nickname from his dad.

===PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE===

Personality:
Although he can be very trusting and kind to his friends, Bradley has trouble getting to know people very well because he's pretty shy. He may not talk much, but, he's really noble at heart. He wants to see the world safe and everyone happy. Along with his shyness, Bradley can be pretty cowardly. Although he wants the world safe, he doesn't believe he should be the one to save it.

How does a kid like this want to be a hero, though. A sense of duty. A strong sense of duty and responsibility. With his newly discovered abilities, he feels like it is his responsibility to be braver than he is for the sake of those that can't be.

His weak personality might be attributed to a lack of a relationship with his father and therefore not having a strong male role model in the household. Although he probably would never admit it, and might not even realize it, he hates his father to some degree.

He grew up with girls as his best friends and felt kind of awkward around other guys. This has made him struggle to form any form of romantic relationships, although he can imagine them. He doesn't have the nerve to do anything about it, though.

Strengths:
His strongest psychological ability would have to be his amazing bravery. It's not his ability to be afraid of nothing, but, his ability to move beyond his fears to do what's right that makes him stand out.

Interests/Habits:
Bradley, actually, is a very talented pianist, although no one could convince him to prove it.

He loves animals, but, just the small ones...and no birds...or bugs...or creepy looking animals...

Even though he has only really learned one instrument well, he likes basically all music and dreams of learning how to play every instrument he can get his hands on.

===PERSONAL BACKGROUND===

Family Members:
Captain John Bell - father - 40 years
Spoiler:
Megan Bell - mother - 37 years
Spoiler:
Taylor Bell - sister - 17 years
Spoiler:
Place of Origin: Seattle, Washington
Current City: Jump City
History:
Pre-birth
Spoiler:

John Bell was a man born into a family full of military heroes. Whether it was Air Force, Army, Marines or Navy, the Bell name has left their mark and have been remembered for their contributions. He never had a chance for any other sort of life. Straight out of high school, John enrolled into the Navy and was favored towards leadership positions thanks to his obvious skill and talent in nearly everything he was tasked to do. He was set to rise through the ranks and really make something of himself but, something got in the way: a woman. Megan Mcconley was as intelligent as she was beautiful and fell as in love with John as he with her. They decided to settle down and find a place to raise a family. That just happened to be Seattle, Washington.

Although John's superiors were disappointed with his decision, they found a job for him in Seattle's research lab. They were on to big things from advanced prosthetics to extremely advanced recessitation devices. Of course, he wasn't much of a scientist compared to the bright minds already stationed, so, he mainly managed and worked security. Average pay for average work. Something he wasn't used to, but, certainly worth it to start a family.

The Early Days
Spoiler:

John and Megan Bell quickly took pride in two healthy children, Taylor and Bradley. Much to John's chagrin, Bradley didn't seem to take to the same things that John had. When John offered to play catch, Bradley preferred reading a book. When John wanted to go skiing, Bradley preferred to take up the piano. Although they were very different, Bradley still loved his father very much and John loved his son too, but, he didn't see a need to stay home by the time his kids grew to a more responsible age, at 10 and 11. He sought out a track at commanding fleets again in the army and was shipped back out to the seas. He would visit once or twice a year, but, things just weren't the same anymore.

Taylor began to shine in her baseball league while John was away and Bradley felt a need to go out for some sports, too, to try and reach out to his dad when he would come home. Megan was worried that Bradley was avoiding what he truly enjoyed because he felt disconnected but he assured her that he was turning a new leaf, that he was really liking his new activities.

As he tried out for football, he couldn't find any camaraderie with his teammates and was performing dismally at wide receiver, unable to make a catch but fast enough to outrun just about anyone on the field. Although he hated it, he kept trying because his father began coming to see his games.

Those few years were straining on the family and Bradley really began questioning whether his dad ever really liked him at all. He was doing fine in school but had few friends because of how timid he had become.

The Ghost
Spoiler:

Years passed and as Bradley, now 15, quit football and his other sports, his father came home less and less. Finally, Megan convinced John to come home one weekend for his birthday. When he finally came home, Taylor and Bradley were thrilled to see their father as always and greeted him hugs and laughs. They went out for a movie and came home for cake and ice cream. All of the tension in the family disappeared and they greeted the feeling warmly, almost being able to call themselves normal.

After eating, Megan and Taylor left the room to try to find his present and casual conversation between father and son turned into heated argument. John questioned why he quit the football team and Bradley questioned why he couldn't just accept him for who he was. Bradley stormed out of the house and down the hill trying to blow off steam. It was late and, as tears filled his eyes, there was no way he couldn't noticed the drunk driver billowing down the road. It was a head on collision and Bradley blacked out.

He was taken to the emergency room and into surgery immediately. There was broken head light glass in his chest and plenty of internal bleeding...he was fading. The rest of the Bells burst into the viewing area frantically. Taylor was frantic, Megan held her tightly and John held his hand on her shoulder, trying to hold his composure.

The family waited all night until a glum doctor emerged, telling them that they did everything they could but...it...wasn't enough. Megan and Taylor erupted in anger and sorrow and just about every emotion they could imagine, but, John remained sitting, stoic as ever. He asked to see the body and found his way to the room. He nodded to the doctor, signifying that he wanted to be alone. He watched as the door closed and frantically threw off his jacket and tore the hospital gown so that Bradley's chest was open. He placed a blue circle on his son's chest that was concealed under his jacket and activated it by pressing a sequence of buttons on the shell. The device lit up and, suddenly, four needles stuck the boy's chest. Electric shocks began shooting through the boy's body and Bradley's body began shaking.

John stood, watching and praying. It was the best that the army had to offer for his son. It was part of the work that was being done in the research lab that he used to work for in town. It was untested. Didn't even have a name. But, it was a father's only hope.

He closed his eyes after about ten minutes, losing hope, when he heard a small whisper in his ear. It was faint enough that he questioned its existence but real enough to give him hope. He opened his eyes and watched as Bradley opened his and the electricity stopped. He removed the device quickly and alerted the doctors.

They were baffled. He was dead and yet...there he was, weeks later, zooming through rehabilitation at record speed. Finally he was let back home and his family held a welcome home party. Taylor invited everyone at their school which, although she thought it was a great idea since she was a social butterfly, probably wasn't the smartest, but Bradley was fine because both parents were there to meet him. He apologized for the fight he had with his father and felt that they had made up, but, it felt strange because John wouldn't look his son in the eye. He revealed a present he got for him. It was dog tags that said "Ghost" on it, referring to his near death experience, he supposed. As the guests left, John revealed that he was getting shipped out again the next day. Bradley would have erupted in anger, but, he felt too tired after everything he'd been through so everyone said their goodbyes and he was off.

That night, as Bradley slept, he had another dream like he'd been having since the accident. He dreamt that he was laying in bed and could just walk around the house, the town, even the city. It was nice because he could drop in on his friends and act like he was catching up with friends. As dawn approached, he made his way back home. Back to his bed, but, he just happened to glance at the mirror and saw the strangest sight. He saw himself...but...not himself...a shadow of himself...like a...like a ghost. From that day on, he understood that something strange happened to him to make him survive.

Weeks passed and his newfound abilities continued to emerge and develop. He began having fun around school, making footballs move towards him during P.E., making chalk slip out of teacher's hands and taking spectral peeks into the girl's locker room. But, in the end, he knew what he was and felt a need to do something with his abilities. He revealed his powers to his mom and sister and, after a lot of talk, they decided that he should make his way to where kids his age with special abilities seemed to gather: Jump City. They bought him an apartment and told him that if they needed anything, ANYTHING, that they'd be there in a day to help out.

Now he had to make his journey. Who would he be?

Sample RP:

It was colder than he expected, his first day in Jump City. It didn't seem to be the welcoming safe haven he expected. The citadel of hope. But, he knew he shouldn't judge a book by its cover there was more to this city than met the eye, he supposed.

"What'll it be?" A tired looking teenaged waitress asked.

Looking around as if he didn't realize where he was, Bradley paused a minute. "Um--I...well..."

The girl looked annoyed, tapping her foot and finally continued. "I'll give you a couple more minutes, okay?" She walked to the break room quickly.

Bradley nodded and sighed as he looked out the window through the cool rain. Why couldn't he just get it together and be able to actually talk to someone?! As he wallowed around for a moment, staring at a puddle across the street, he noticed a guy with a crowbar looking menacing and walking into an alleyway. With an excited smile, Bradley got to his feet and dashed outside. "Now's your time to shine." he whispered to himself.

The man was at the end of the alleyway and broke a window. He jumped through and moments later emerged with a tv and his hood up. "Turn back..." he heard a voice whisper from beside him. He turned quickly and swung his crowbar at...nothing.

"Hey, what's the big idea?" he yelled out rather unintelligibly.

Bradley turned the corner and revealed himself. "That's not yours, you know."

"Wha-a kid? Not even a Titan either? Yeah right!"

The man ran straight at Bradley and as he was about to make contact, the boy flew in the air, narrowly avoiding the impact. He telekinetically grabbed a trash can and flung it at the thug, knocking him out cold. He stood over the man with his arms crossed. Maybe this was the place for him...
