Luxi chuckled "well my darlings, Halloween is the time of year where humans celebrate the creepy and scary, where pumpkins are hailed as guardians with their carved out, scary faces, and the humans dress in monstrous costumes, even the smaller humans dress up, and they go around the older humans' houses, I believe its called 'Trick-or-Treating' and the younger humans merely knock on the houses and utter the words 'Trick-or-Treat' this somehow allows them to receive sweet treats wrapped up in colourful wrappers, its the time when the weird and wonderful come out to play" she explained in a fanciful way.

Skip finished his PB&H sandwich and started in on an egg salad sandwich. “That sounds really weird. Is the pretty wrapped stuff taste good? And what’s a pumm…pummp….pumpkin?” Skip really liked the weird and the wonderful. Most people thought he was a cat until notified that he was a skunk. Trent was running around in his cage, hyper for something to do. His cage rattling very loud from his running around in his cage. "Come on........something exciting happen!" Trent stared out of his cage toward the pet shop door, from the inside a sign said: "Sorry We're Closed!" He waited for something exciting to happen as he kept running around in circles in his cage. Trent was thinking about how it would have been if he was adopted by a circle. "Please adopt me wherever you are Human.."

Frostbite brightened up when told he may actually get adopted, and for his coloration no less! Every time a human got a hedgie he wasn't picked because he was creepy. And now some one was telling him that now because of some strange tradition of the humans they may actually like his weird colors and choose him! The small hedge hog was so excited he nearly fell over in disbelief. "You really think they would adopt me?"

Scout shook her head at the hedgy with a small smile on her face, he was going to get excited and then when he was still here after the holidays his whole world would crash around him again. But she didn't want to ruin his hopes. And as much as she didn't want him to go, he didn't want to ruin his chances for being picked.
