The Battle for EM (Open)

Where: The Double-Man Project Base in Jump City.
When: Noon
What: Seth has created a mind-controlled army by combining the Venom drug with Aphrodite's powers. He is now personally commanding this army to attack the Double-Man Project, a secret government agency. His army will kill anyone who gets in his way, and protect him from danger. Seth has one goal: to steal the human weapon that the Project has created before it awakens.
Who: Seth, Seth's minions (minus Vega), Kyte, Dar, JaK, Will, Superboy, Emblem, Grin, Mumbo. (Open for others to join, too).

Today was the day. Today, judgement would rain down upon the world.

Seth stood amongst his small army of minions. Some of them had worked with him for a long time: Kyte, Rico, Orta, and the other agents. The majority of his current followers, however, were under mind control. They would protect Seth and do his bidding.

He was after one thing: the human weapon EM.

In his experiments with cloning, Dr. Zero had drawn the attention of the US military. They had contracted him to create a weapon. EM had been designed to counter Omega-level threats like Primarch Joshua. Seth wanted that weapon for himself, so he could destroy modern civilization.

It had all been for this.

Seth held up a fist as he commanded his army. "Secure and protect the EM weapon. Kill anyone who gets in the way. Tonight, the world dies!"

Seth smiled under his emotionless white mask as his army swarmed the gates of the government facility. The guards were equipped with high-powered weapons and armor, but Seth had meta-humans on his team. The guards would stand no chance.

From amidst the muddle a strikingly lean man stood silently griping at having been made into just another face. His red lined cape and overdressed attire went unnoticed in this crowd of strange and dangerous eccentrics. Mumbo had never been a team player. If there hadn't been that uncontrollable urge to be here tonight he would doubtless look for some other venue. But his mind was made up, in that someone had made it up for him. The Double Man Project would die. The EM weapon would be secured. Seth would have his Grand Finale.

It must have been uncommon that a magic user had required use of the Venom drug. Circumstances, however, found Mumbo in desperate need of an advantage when separated from his wand. The consequences of such a rash choice was that he wound up here. A mere sideliner for the headliner. Well, if Mumbo was going to be denied the spotlight tonight, he was at least going to be their opening act.

The mesmerised army section jumped into action immediately following Seth's instructions. Mumbo beat them all, “Allow me.” He clapped his hands together, seemingly making the wand disappear in-between. Next he turned both open palms towards the gates. With a creak they swung apart. Beyond them the first doors and even windows were magically disabled, no key would be necessary. Mumbo disappeared in a cloud of smoke, as hell-bent villains streamed passed him. The door was open after all, so they just thought they'd let themselves in.

"Secure and protect the EM weapon. Kill anyone who gets in the way. Tonight, the world dies!"

Amongst those mindless drones and mindcontrolled villains and heroes was one particular entity that stood out. Not for his attire, but for his attitude. As Seth proclaimed the world was going to die, Emblem turned his head to face the one who spoke those world. What kind of line was that?

In truth, Emblem had some other plans. He had never imbued the Venom. He had Krious analyse it, and whilst the research was not yet complete, Emblem found it too easy to simply obtain a drug that could make you stronger but nothing else. His doubt had saved Emblem, but he was still present; When tracking back to Seth, he was faced with a rather joyous task. He was allowed to participate in a orgy of manslaughter. As if he needed any more persuasion, he'd also have other villains and heroes on his side, mind-controlled. He was home free!

He'd even considered snapping a few of their necks in the process and clean house, but that'd be too weak; Where was the challenge in killing your temporary comrades, taking their lives before their controlled minds knew what was going on?

Emblem lavished in the breeding tension as they approached the gates. What a great night to be amongst cursed! He felt a tingle down his spine in pure excitement, as he cracked his arms and neck. As Mumbo opened the gates, Emblem stormed out in a run, lieterally hellbound for some blood. As he approached the first door, he kicked it open with much fervor. Sure, the lock had been opened, but that didn't mean the door couldn't be treated as a projectile and kicked off it's hinges towards guardmen. And so it did. Those floored with the velocity were the unlucky ones; They would have to see their comrades die a rather gruesome but quick death.

As others hurled over them, Emblem picked one of the guards that opened fire on them, and in one quick motion, the man was disposed of his spinal cord and head. The first fatality had been claimed, and it's leftover used to bash in on another guard. As he too went down in an onslaught of flames and bone, one of those crushed between the door saw Emblem stepping over him. Frozen in terror, he saw the hellbound battlemage turn around and kneel down.

''You should have taken that office job..''

The man fainted. Emblem was astonished how long he had held himself together. Brave soul, what a pity he was so weak. Emblem layed his hand on the man's crushed body and removed all his bodily heat from the body itself. A clean and quick death, the brain wouldn't even know what to think before it seized thinking at all.

Emblem stood up and charged on into the base, randomly slamming through walls and setting things aflame. He knew Seth could have a problem with this as the building should stay intact, but that wasn't his concern..As long as those mind-controlled nutjobs left some minor threat for him to deal with!

The siege had begun, and now that Dar and the Titans had arrived, so had the counter-strike. Dar honestly didn't care if Seth got his hands on this human weapon he was so crazy about. He just wanted Seth to pay for betraying him. Seth had tried to kill Dar, and Dar would respond in the same way.

Dar dropped out of the T-Jet and landed in front of Seth's army. The first opponent he faced, however, was no mind-controlled victim. It was Rico, Seth's little pet cyborg girl.

Rico's blue eyes opened wide at seeing her supposedly dead ally suddenly alive and fighting against her. She didn't have time to think about it. She had to protect Seth. That was the very reason for her existence. Pulling out two handguns, Rico shot Dar in the face at point-blank range. The bullets stung, but they were not able to break through Dar's stone-like skin.

Raising his massive, Nth metal war axe, Dar slashed at Rico. She jumped to the side and threw her useless guns to the ground. Getting close, Rico kicked Dar's knee, breaking it with her impressive strength. The attack would cost her, however, as Dar brought his axe around to cut her kicking leg clean off. Rico could deal with the pain, but her brain was starting to lose focus from the stress. Rico fell to the ground, and could only look up in frustration as Dar stood above her with his axe held high. Although his knee was broken, he was still able to stand on his leg. The pain meant nothing to him.

"Kyte," Rico whispered to herself. "I'm scared." Where was her big brother to protect her?

In one powerful, crushing blow, Dar destroyed Rico's torso. Rico died with tears in her eyes. She hadn't been able to protect Seth.

Dar turned to face the rest of his enemies. This would not be an easy fight with a broken knee. He looked around for Seth, but could not find him. Dar's rage grew stronger every second. "Seth!"

Emblem ha charged many a wall and stopped to look around. HE could do this for some time, but he had his own agenda to attend to. Guards all around him were being overrun, and it wasn't much of a threat to him. Where was this world's fighting potential?

Emblem turned around suddenly, perceiving to hear some sort of change. As if the flow of battle had changed. He smelled opportunity as he raced back to where he came from. Up some steps, and he now faced a clear view. Titans!

Emblem had a hard time resisting the urge to simply leap up and cave in one skull after another. He wouldn't. Keen observation would be better, wouldn't it? Unfortunately, Emblem wasn't one for observation. He spotted one Titan, and aimed at it. The one Titan that called out to Seth, but did not seem to find him yet. He had made an impressive kill, but would he be able to match Emblem's Inferno? If only for a while? Emblem wasn't going to stay here when the fighting would go bad, he was here for some fun. Besides, he was just new to this world, he had to have his fun every now and again but he had plenty of research waiting on him.

With a tap of the fingers, glass broke and fell down several feet. Emblem used the window sill to leap through the air, and straight for Dar. With the fall, Emblem ignited, wishing to cause quite an impact. That body that laid on the ground had no chance to be recycled in any way, that was a sure thing. With a maniacal laugh, Emblem was about to slam fists shoulder first into his enemy.

''Incoming!''

Connor would now land beside Dar, holding up a black aura shield to block Emblem himself.

"I was in my stroll in Jump City when I heard some commotion down here,
thought you needed some help."

Emblem lands on his butt as he hits the black aura shield.
As Emblem gets blocked off, Connor looks to see some
civillians charging at him. He points his hand at their clothes, when a black aura surround it, aloowing him to hold back about 2 civillians. He puts the civillians infront of the other ones so they cant get pass. But this makes him vunerable for an attack.



The black aura grows larger and it throws the civillians so they land on their
bottoms. They land with a thud but no one harmed.

Connor switches his view to Emblem

"Just leave this city and us alone!"

Dar saw a man flying towards him at an alarming speed. The man seemed to be on fire. This wasn't going to end well. The fire wizard was stopped by a shield of darkness that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. The shield had been made by someone Dar didn't know, who said he had just been in the area and decided to help.

Heroes were saving Dar? Well, he was fighting on the side of the Titans, although he was the furthest thing from a hero himself.

Kyte had appeared. He had kicked Dar in the head, sending the parademon flying. The kick had done no real damage, but it did sting. Rubbing the spot where he had been hit, Dar promised not be surprised again. Rico was in pieces at this point, but Kyte was trying to comfort her. Had some sort of bond formed between Kyte and Rico while Dar had been gone? Dar himself had once considered Kyte his brother, but no longer. Where had Kyte been when Seth betrayed Dar? He was obviously still loyal to Seth. It had come down to this: a fight between old friends.

For some reason, Kyte allowed Dar to retrieve his weapon. That was a mistake. Dar picked up his large war axe. He had forged this weapon specially after Toji had destroyed his last one. This axe was coated in Nth metal, which was far stronger than steel and canceled out magic. Kyte wouldn't be able to draw energy from Dar's area. Furthermore, Kyte's demonic blades couldn't break through Dar's axe. They were on equal levels.

"Kyte. I see you still hold on to your silly ideals. All the time I've been on this planet, I've looked for a replacement for Darkseid. But I no longer answer to the powers of darkness. I no longer answer to anyone! And I certainly won't let you stop me from getting my revenge."

Dar dashed at Kyte at around 60 miles per hour. He slashed his magic-canceling axe at the half-demon's chest, hoping to slice him in half.

Emblem's initial attack was thwarted by a black projection, shielding his desired opponent. What a disappointment. This one had looked powerful enough to be able to keep himself standing. As he bounced off the shield, Emblem rolled over the ground and kipped up to face the individual who stopped him.

Emblem was not impressed. However, something was off. This was not a normal human. He had demonic intrusion! That would explain the black shield...but..still..why'd he protect a stronger individual?

''Just leave this City and us alone!''

The hellbound battlemage could not believe his ears. This child was serious? He was over a feet smaller, he was skinnier, weaker, pathetic. And he had a demon inside! How weak were the servants of hell nowadays? Emblem cracked his neck as he faced his opponent with a malicious grin. His voice was little more then a demonic grumble, as slowly, fires ignited from his palms, their flaming tongues licking the pyromancer's arms and clothes. The moment he spoke, lights were percieved to come from his mouth as well.

''Pathetic mortal. You are in so much trouble you have no idea...do not shield the strong if you yourself are weak...Now...Sit tight...wait for the flash...''

As Emblem inhaled a large portion of air he wished to very much disintegrate his opponent. His eyes were completely focused on Connor, and his desire to smell molten flesh had reached appropriate heights. He would very much see Connor try to protect himself against Emblem's Flame Breath, flames white hot, piercing his defense...killing him. It would only be fitting punishment for a weakling facing off with such arrogance against such an entity!

"Actually, I've got a better idea!"

As he was about to unleash a torrent of flame, Connor's personal hell, he was slammed away by something with a lot of velocity. Emblem chafed against the ground with his shoulder, before twisting his legs and torso, picking himself up again. His attack had been stopped, and as a result, Emblem coughed up some plumes of black smoke. A human's throat wasn't supposed to act as a conduit of fire, but if executed well, nothing would go amiss. As the plumes of smoke quickly dispersed, Emblem balled his fists and stepped up to face his other new opponent. He had rather delighted in seeing fear in someone's eyes, but this one was wrapped well like contents in a tin can.

"How bout you tell me what happened to the real Emblem, and what you're doing here?"

Emblem's anger rose as his opponents had kept him from a nice fatality. Yet another intrusion. His grin was unchanged however, as he faced this metahuman.

''Believe me mortal, I am very much real. As is your end, very much near.''

With that, Emblem pushed himself forward, and burst towards his new opponent. A quick and powerful lariat should do the trick of decapitation, but his attack was ducked and averted with much finesse. So much for quick endings and getting back to business. He turned around, putting his feet to the ground. His feet seemed to catch fire themselves as Emblem prepared for another flurry of attacks. His legs continued to be covered in increasingly volatile fires.

''Technology will not save you. I will strip your metal and find your human heart. Allow me the pleasure to claim it as my prize?''

With that, Emblem leaped forward with a searing roundhouse attack poised to strike his opponent. Lines of flame followed his movement, and large cinders shot off as the fires itself seemed to be getting impatient.

Those not impeded by Titans were currently ripping through the facility. Clashing against the guards in open combat. Their progress was continually slowed by the onset of security measures, which gave the defence much needed respite as they gathered themselves for when their foes succeeded in tearing down the obstacles. Yet not all the technology on Earth could have prevented this onslaught. Alarms rang loud to let the staff know their imminent danger. Where not locked-down, evacuation was in effect. A couple of scientists prepared to make their escape, but at the same time recognising the sensitive nature of data their offices contained. The backups were safely logged to computer. That still left the paperwork, of which they intended to drop the most salient pieces into one of the many fires on their way out.

As their departure was but moments away, a mysterious wind picked up, snatching binders and folders right out their hands. Sheets of paper from all around the room collected in a frenzy and danced about the abrupt current. Ultimately coming to rest inside a hat. A debonair top-hat currently in the gloved hand of a blue-skinned magician. From the doorway Mumbo smiled.

The hat was sat back atop of his head, “Interrupting anything?” Inexplicably he had found his way through locked compound doors and straight into the flank of operations. Unhindered. His warped intentions, further distorted by brainwashing, were evident. One of the scientists slid open a draw and pulled out a gun. Desperately he fired, the shot knocking back the villain's head.

Mumbo brought back down his head and showed the bullet now wedged between teeth. A wave of his wand brought a full-length box crashing around the perpetrator. He spat out the bullet, “I wish there was time for a trick or two, but I had my heart set on a bigger venue.” Swords now materialised, orbiting the wooden cell menacingly, “So why don't you tell me where I can find the EM weapon?”

The second scientist clenched his jaw shut and said nothing. Probably searching for a way out without also becoming hopelessly trapped. It was necessary to grab his attention then, “Tell you what! Your friend has fifteen seconds to pull off a challenging escape. Or you shall take his place.” He pulled out a small pocket watch and tapped his foot lightly, “One... two... three...”

The swords impaled their target all at once. Mumbo waited for the screams to stop.

“... four... five...”

Connor then watches as Emblem's attack get blocked off by Spidergirl.

Woah.

As Connor says this he sends a whiff of black magic at him, which hits Emblem slightly on his arm.

Maybe you should learn how not to take your anger out so fast...

Connor smiles as he is mocking him right before his eyes. Connor stands there and stops smiling and has a serious emotion on his face.

Not to stop playing.....calling me pathetic? You just got mocked CONNOR-STYLE!

(Connor? READ my post. Emblem never succesfully attacked you with his flame breath, let alone charge you? I went for the Spidergirl, cause Emblem is distracted quite easily in that regard in this chaos :P)
