Ferret-Napping! (Pop Quiz: Nikkita Furvith)

"Role call. Is everyone in position?" a man in a maroon suit spoke clearly into his headset as he seemed to be in a large well furnished room, facing an assortment of computers and monitors overlooking possibly the most uninteresting part of Jump City; the sewers. Except, these weren't the way the Jump City sewers had usually been. It had been easy enough to buy land rights to this section of the underworkings of Jump, the difficult part was the preparations. Yes, Mr. Maze was especially proud of this test. The British businessman didn't necessarily come to the western hemisphere to test this subject, but, her powers have proved to be a significant enough challenge, he almost seemed to be enjoying himself, but, now was the time of action and he was all business at this point (as if he wasn't always).

"Rail reporting in, boss. In position, awaiting orders." called a boy in blue armor through his own headset. He had been leaning on a rare dry spot of the wall in the dimly lit, harshly scented room that was probably under the Cinema that he had visited the night before this very early morning (although there was no way to tell what time it was down here). His mask was rigged with a temporary night vision mode so that he could effectively fight if the time came.

"Blink here, ready to go." spoke a slightly older boy into his headset. He was wearing a winter coat since he was actually outside. The sun was barely rising, but, Blink had no need of sunglasses, his eyes were strong enough to endure however bright the sun could get. He was charged with awaiting the guest to see if she survives and watch to see if her meeting with Maze were to go badly. He was hiding behind a wall that was barely stable. The exit was an old house that had no roof because of wear-and-tear and basic neglect.

"The droids are also ready for action when you activate them." he added shortly. He had spent all night strategically placing them through the tunnels...they better be ready. Maze's scientists had developed many personalized small droids that could chase the subject through the tunnels and prove to be very sufficient adversaries.

"Excellent!"Maze replied with a toothless smile. "And, lastly, what of the subject? Is she in position?"

"Oh, yes, I put her in place...she should be coming to any minute now..." Rail added quickly. He was quite impressed with his ability to capture the subject. It was simple enough to spot her after the information that Maze had provided. While simply walking down the street, Rail had 'accidentally' bumped into the subject and inserted the needle that he was given to knock her out an hour later. He found her in an alleyway knocked out and curled up in her ferret form.

Upon awakening from her spot on the floor, a few chambers and tunnels away from Rail's position, Nikkita Furvith would find herself in a large, dimly lit room that smelled faintly of tuna. (Probably lying near the shore, according to Rail's estimations.) She would have a moment to examine her surroundings, probably realize that there were a few small tubes for exit and a manhole above that had been welded shut. The tubes were to small for a person to crawl through but should be perfect for even a larger rodent.

"Perfect! This should be a good warm up. Hopefully we can start our American campaign on a good note with this one. She has one hour, if she isn't out by then, Rail exit the way I told you about and, Blink, lock your exit. For her, there will be one entrance, and one exit possible. Let the test begin!"

"Roger."

"Right."

Nikkita woke up and stretched, she had transformed back into her human form while she was napping. "Man, I must have been more tired then I thought. I'll have to ask Mr. Pacific for more off time for naps or something." Nikki yawned and then shook her head to wake herself up.
She looked around and first noticed how dark it was, then noticed the smell. She didn't understand what was going on, she had fallen asleep in an alley, and now she was what smelled like a public bathroom. With the lights out. Nikki looked around a bit and saw a couple tunnels that she could weasel through. "Well, got to get out of here some how." She stood and brushed off then looked between the different tunnels. Finally she choose a tunnel on the far right and crawled through into another larger room with less tunnels.
She sighed as she realized this was going to be a crazy maze. A crazy maze that smelt bad and had rats and roaches running around. She sighed again as she looked around again, then decided that it would be quicker to move around these tunnels in her ferret form since ferrets were built to explore tunnels and her sense of smell would help her navigate.
She transformed and stood on her hind legs and sniffed then fell to all fours and began to follow a trail that seemed to magically appear to her ferret nose. The trail smelt like another person had been down here recently. Maybe they would know the way out.

(OOC: Back!)

Rail's head jolted up as he seemed to have dosed off while he was waiting for the ferret girl to wake up. He was awoken by an echo that came from the direction that the girl was. With an almost demented smile, he said into his head set, "Let the games begin!"

He then turned to a watch that was wirelessly linked to the awaiting robots. as he entered the correct codes into his watch, the first wave of ferret hunting robots whirred to life and sped down the tube and straight towards Nikkita. There were five in this first wave, one equipped with a saw, one equipped with a mace like arm attachment, one levitating drone with a weak laser, one UFO like drone designed to heal and fix the others and lastly, one android-like drone that had minimal boxing skills.

Rail began to center himself, too and get to his state of nirvanna as he had learned in his fighting techniques. He would have to be ready if Nikkita made it past the robots faster than expected...

the giant ferret was sniffing around the ground like a hound on a trail, the smells around here weren't the greatest, but she had to find a way out. Even if it meant sniffing about a sewer. Nikki brought her head up and sneezed loudly and then shook her head. She was about to go back to sniffing again when she heard some kind of weird sound coming up behind her. Her ears twitched back to listen closer and decided she didn't want to stay and find out what it was. She jumped into another tunnel and quickly scurried through it, only to end up in yet another room that had a ton more tunnels, all just a bit too small for her to run through as a ferret. She growled to herself and turned to face the on coming attackers.

Suddenly a silver robot came zooming into the room. It had a strange mace attached to its arm and Nikki scoffed. This didn't seem like a big problem. Snap the chain attached to the spiked ball and then tear apart the robot. Though she did wonder why a robot was down here anyway. The rat problem must be worse then she thought.

It suddenly charged and swung, and Nikki ducked and scurried down the tunnel she had run into to get to the room, hoping she could just run away from the robot and get out of the sewer. But she stopped half way down the tunnel as another robot started after her, this one had some strange spinning saws on its arms. She quickly backed up and spun around to face the other robot and charged it. As it got ready to swing she jumped over it and quickly grabbed a hold of its mace chain. The robot turned and tried to tug free but Nikki jerked it back and forth and finally managed to snap the chain, sending the first robot crashing into a wall. Not she had another form of weapon to use other then her teeth and claws, and this one she could use in her human form. She then turned her attention to the next robot that was now in the room. Nikki didn't know what was going on, but she was sure these weren't friendly sewer cleaning robots.

She dragged the chain with her as she ran at the robot and swung the chain at it. But it ducked out of the way and managed to miss being smashed into pieces. Nikki quickly transformed into her human form and crawled down one of the smaller tunnels. She came to a tunnel and took off down it. This had to be the way out, right? Nikki came to a screeching halt as another robot came zooming at her. She transformed into her ferret self and leapt at it. Suddenly it shot something at her and she fell to the ground momentarily paralyzed. she stood and shook it off, then growled at the robot. So this one had a gun of some sort. Nikki didn't know how many of these things were down here but she couldn't keep running from them or they would all end up ganging up on her. But why were they all after her?

"Excellent! The subject is moving at an impressive rate I you'd agree!" Maze said through a sinister smile. "Perhaps we should...add some extra incentive..."

Throughout the tunnels, suddenly a speaker seemed to crackle to life. "Nikkita Furvith! Thank you for cooperating with my latest experiment! You can call me Maze, as, I'm sure you've noticed, that's what you're in now!" He turned the speaker off for a moment and giggled. "You weren't chosen for this experiment, this experiment was made for you! It was designed to test your...unique skills...But! It appears that I've underestimated your abilities and I wanted to let you know that I'm now adding an extra variable! At this moment, you are breathing in a very deadly poison. It is so deadly, in fact, that you will find yourself most assuredly dead in...oh...I'd say about an hour. Now, an associate of mine is holding an antidote at the exit and will happily give it to you if you make it in time! However, the closer and closer that you get to that hour, the slower and sicker you will get. The first sign will be coughing and the second would be a nose bleed. After that...oh it will be far too late." He finished his speech with a smile. "Now, I do hope you'd hurry along now! It's greatly appreciated!"

Rail looked up nervously at the announcement and started to shout into his headset. "Oi! What's this all about Maze!? This wasn't part of the plan!" He yelled nervously but no answer came. "Just, bloody, do your job and get out!" He said to himself, now pacing in the sewers.

Back on Nikkita's end, the next room that she would enter would be a large tube going straight up with a ladder on it's side. Along the way up were three drones with gliding capabilities and powerful lasers. Upon making it to the top of the ladder, she would simply have to walk into the next room and meet her hardest test yet...a match with Rail. Could she make it that far though?

Nikki's eyes widened as she listened to the voice over the speakers. "AW GREAT! WONDERFUL! You mean to tell me I've been captured by a SAW WANNABE!! GAAAH!!!"

Nikki sighed and tried to focus on the problem in front of her with out panicking, but it was difficult now that she knew there was a time limit on her life. She growled and looked at the robot that sat as if waiting for her to make the next move. She stood and transformed, the fur along her back standing straight up and her tail fluffed up to its fullest in her anger. Nikki roared and charged the robot and crashed into it. Ignoring the stings of its lasers she tore into it until it was fully destroyed, but even then she felt it still deserved to be the target of her fury and ripped every wire, limb, cord, and metal scrap until there was no chance of ever knowing what it had been. Then Nikki lifted her head to the ceiling of the tunnel and roared loudly. She sat back and felt the rage feeling leave her, leaving her feel hollow and drained.

The ferret lowered her head to her paws and took a deep shuddering breathe. Am I going to die down here? She thought of her team mates back in the Nighthawks nest. She couldn't believe she had been dragged down to the sewers, to her death, this soon after she had signed up on the team.

She shook her head and forced herself to stand. No way, she was not dieing in a sewer like some common rat or roach, she was going to get out of here, then she would tear this Maze guy's Heart out. She fueled the anger till she felt it boil into that rage again, hoping that it would help her muscle past the feeling of dread and fear. She let a growl escape her and proceeded to the next tunnel. Nikki was positive there would be more robots and more possibilities that some thing wanted to kill her but she had to get to the antidote and then get as far away from here as possible. Nikki squeezed herself into the tube that lead to the next room, but sighed as she realized that she would have to change back yo make much progress. The were ferret shifted back to her human form and crawled further and further down the tunnel, hoping that it was the right way.

She paused when she came to a ladder and looked up the tube carefully, seeing at least two robots hovering around, waiting to try to take her out. Nikki watched them for a couple of seconds trying to see what weapons they had, but couldn't see any from her position. She decided to try to sneak past them, maybe save some time by avoiding a fight, but just as she grabbed the first rung on the ladder she felt a cough bubble up in the back of her throat. Nikki tried to hold her breathe, hoping to block off the cough before it could burst out and draw the attention of all the robots hovering above. Suddenly she remembered something that Maze had said that made her draw in a quick breathe that freed the coughing fit 'The first sign will be coughing and the second would be a nose bleed. After that...oh it will be far too late.' She started coughing as if she had a serious flu, and no matter how much she tried to stop it, the itching feeling it her throat would not stop.
Oh please just let me be imagining this, don't let me actually be at the first sign already! Nikki looked up just in time to see a robot come crashing down on her. She twisted to one side and the robot dove right past her. She yelled out as a second one smashed into the back of her skull. She blinked past the dizzying pain and forced herself to stay awake. If she blacked out now, she was sure to die.
Nikki transformed and stepped on the one that had zipped past her. There wasn't any room for her to twist around or really move, but she at least managed to block off the way for the robots to come in behind her. As the second and third robot dove at her again she snapped at on and crushed it it her jaws, but the last one managed to hit her right on the bridge of her nose and she howled as the bone broke. Blood streamed down her muzzle and chest. She was disoriented and wanted to go back down the tunnel and hide to tend to her broken nose, but she knew that if she did the poison would still be in her lungs and she wouldn't be an closer to getting the cure. She roared at the last robot and squirmed up the tunnel, crushing the ladder ever closer against the side. As she finally reached the top the robot zipped out into a larger room. Nikki grinned and followed it, thinking how it had just made a huge mistake in giving her more room to chase it down and crush it.

Nikki leapt out of the tunnel and ran straight at the robot, who spun around a second to late. The giant ferret hurled herself at it and brought it to the ground. She tore into it like she had with the robot with the lasers, making sure every piece was torn to the smallest it would go. Being sure that this robot would never be reused again.

When she finally stopped she became aware of her dizziness. She was panting hard and caught a glimpse of some one standing on the other side of the room. Maybe this guy had the cure? Nikki stated walking towards him, She didn't even know how far she was poisoned any more, her broken nose was still bleeding heavily. Nikki crossed half the room then sat and panted for a moment. 'I can't be this bad off already, its only been a few minutes!' She stood and transformed. Wiping some of the blood from around her mouth she nodded to the strange man, "I-I don't suppose, you would- have the antidote thing?" She was still panting, but the dizzy feeling was starting to leave a little, only to be replaced by a headache from hell.

"...roger that Maze, good to know."

As Nikki approached Rail, he turned around, his right hand holding his ear to better hear Maze's instructions. His face was completely covered with his blue mask so, it wouldn't be completely unreasonable to think that Rail was another robot. He was slightly impressed that the girl to tell so easily.

He turned and folded his arms, leaning back slightly in a commanding pose. "Sadly, I do not. You've handled everything easily enough so far, so, Maze thought it was about time ye faced some real flesh and blood." He looked down slightly. "I ye can keep up with me, you'll find your precious antidote soon enough."

Then, without any further explanation, he began to move towards Nikki, doing a front flip on the way, seemingly to just simply show off his abilities and, once he was on two steady feet, he went for a super powered punch, right into Nikki's arm. After the attempted strike, he would do a few back flips and jump onto a cement stage-like area. It was circular and quite large, similar to a boxing ring. Remmy stayed light on his feet, doing a dance, bouncing back and forth on the tips of his feet, preparing for the boxing match of his life.

"Oi! Let's see what ye've got now!" He said, bringing his fists up to his face.

Oh boy, this is gonna be fun. Nikki thought to herself then quickly transformed and dodged Rail's first punch. The ferret snarled at her opponent. She didn't have time to fight a human. She couldn't just crush him either. Nikki snorted, splattering nose blood one the floor. She sighed and jumped up onto the stage. Her fur along her back was standing up and her teeth where bared. She stood on her hind legs and roared at Rail. Nikki was hoping to finish this quickly, hopefully before it was to late for the antidote. The giant weasel lunged at Rail, her jaws open wide to grab her opponent.

Cringing at the girl as she morphed into a large rodent-like beast and spewed blood onto the floor, Remmy couldn't believe how disgusting this girl was! Sure, Maze had informed him on her abilities but, she really turned into a rank beast! As she charged at him, claws extended wildly he quickly shook the feeling of shock and awe out of his mind and he jumped right back at her. His leap was slightly higher however, thanks to his acrobatics training and he pushed down on her head, moving over her in a leap frog like fashion.

He landed with a thud on the opposite side of the ring and turned back to Nikkita, folding his arms cockily. "Ah, so you turned into a big rodent...very lady like! Bloody attractive." He said sarcastically.

Quickly he dashed back towards the were ferret and went for a strong uppercut towards the beast's stomach followed by a round house kick aimed towards her head. Should he make contact, the room would echo with a loud clang, similar to the sound of two cooking pans hitting together. This was due to his metallic imbedding under his skin. Any strike would be far more powerful than a regular hit from an average fighter.

After coming to a halt, he would turn back to face Nikkita. "Hm...yer gonna have to hurry up if yeh want to get the antidote. Oh...I'd say ye've got...ooh a little less than thirty minutes." He said looking at an imaginary watch on his wrist, trying to provoke Nikkita. He was obviously enjoying this match A LOT but seemed to want to do more trash talking than actual fighting.

Nikki landed on all fours as her target jumped clean over her. she would have to be a little more careful. It seemed this guy had more to him then she first thought. She spun around to face him as Rail landed smoothly. She growled as Rail referred to her as a rodent. People just didn't seem to realize ferrets where not rodents, they were more related to badgers and otters then squeaking rats and mice.

Nikki didn't have time to correct him though because she had to quickly move to avoid being hit it the gut only to be hit in the jaw. Nikki howled in agony, first a broken nose now being beat around be a minion of a crazy man. She couldn't tell if the ringing was echoing around the room or if it was in her ears. She shook her head trying to clear the sound out. She thought she heard him say something about thirty minutes. Nikki shook her head again, sending nose blood every where, here nose bleeding again from the blow.

The ferret turned back to Rail, she snarled and started to circle around the fighter. She had to get a blow on him. She had to get that cure.

Nikki transformed back and spat a bit of blood that had gotten into her mouth. "Ok, for one not a rodent. And second off, why are you people even doing this? What is the point of putting me down here with all these robots and poisoning me?"

Nikki braced herself, ready to transform at any moment to change again.

As the fight began, the beast just continued to growl and spew blood all over the place! Sure, it wasn't like the sewers weren't disgusting before, but still, it made Remmy cringe every time he saw that thick red liquid seep from anything, let alone a giant rat! Soon enough, though, the beast was gone and Nikkita Furvith was back, ready to talk her way out of the fight. Maze had warned him that she might try to do this, but, Rail supposed he could humor her with a response.

Nikki transformed back and spat a bit of blood that had gotten into her mouth. "Ok, for one not a rodent. And second off, why are you people even doing this? What is the point of putting me down here with all these robots and poisoning me?"

An evil grin spread across Remmy's face, although Nikki couldn't see it because of his mask. He simply stood silently for a moment before replying, "Why not?"

He would then dash toward the girl again at his impressive speed and leaned into a powerful punch that he meant to be administered to her jaw. Although Maze might have had good intentions (in his mind), Rail really didn't care in the slightest what the reasons were to have these tests or why they were so brutal. Rail just did what he was told, and, as long as he did, he knew he'd be living the high class lifestyle he'd grown accustomed to.

"Faire ce que tu dois faire" He'd say smugly before running in for a kick to Nikkita's legs. She'd have to step up her fighting style if she wanted to make it past Remmy!

Nikki was caught in the jaw in mid transformation. The pain of it making her stagger a bit. 'Why not!' she thought angrily,'you asses just trapped me down here for your own amusement!' She snarled and jumped at Rail, aiming straight for his face as he attempted to kick her legs out from under her. She had tried to avoid a fight, but poisoning people for sport and sticking them in a sewer was the stupidest game a human could play. Especially when that person you had chosen to tick off was a were. Nikki clawed at Rail as soon as she landed, beating at him relentlessly with her claws, aiming at his face, stomach, legs, arms, and face again. she roared at him and then attempted to sink her powerful jaws into his neck. She was once again feeling that rage that had her tearing the robots into tinier and tinier pieces even though they had already been defeated. She was going to kill Rail before she went down, she would tear him to bits just like those robots.
