Reborn with nine lives

Haruhi blinked as her faded vision began to clear itself. She was confused to see clouds and a blue sky above her. She sat up and looked around, to see grass and trees. She panicked as she saw her clothes all shredded and covered in blood. She looked for any open wounds on her or any type of injury, but could not find anything, or feel any pain.
A vision ran through her head, of her opening the door to reveal to masked men, and then the vision changed to that of a car turning into a dirt road, ending with a vision of her body (that seemed lifeless) being dragged through the forest and left there. Tears filled her eyes as she came back from the visions. She screamed in agony and hid her face in her hands. She stopped as she felt eyes pierce her. She looked up to see a cat sitting in front of her. She heard cats meow around her, she looked around to see cats surrounding her. Some in the trees and bushes others just sitting in plain site.
Confused, Haruhi faced the cat in front of her again. It meowed and walked closer to her with it's head low. As if it was telling her to, she put her hand on the cats head and was shocked to see the grey tabby's eyes begin to glow. suddenly everything was covered in light.
When the light subsided the cats were gone. She Sat there bewildered and confused. She stood up and as if her feet knew where to go she continued to walk through the forest till she hit a dirt road and followed it. She knew where she wanted to go and who she was, every memory of her past was blurry and hidden somewhere in her memory.
Haruhi opened the door to her apartment where she was living alone at age seventeen. She took a shower and changed clothes and went to her fridge to look for something to eat. She pulled out the carton of milk and shaked it to see if it was still good, only to find out it was junky and sour.
"How long was I gone?" she tried to remember only to get nothing but a head ache. She threw the milk carton away and decided to take a nap. She flopped on her bed and was quickly asleep.
"mmm..." she stretched, as she woke up from her nap, her arms stretching forward and then pulled them back and rubbed her eyes. She Yawned and opened her eyes. "What the..." She sat up only to bump her head on the roof. "ow...h-how did I get up here?" she said rubbing the side of her head, as she looked down from atop of the fridge. She got off and felt something move behind her, she turned and found nothing, she kept feeling it, but everytime she turned around she found nothing. She felt something twitch at the top of her head and put her hands on it to feel two smooth, pointy, furry what felt like...ears?
She ran to the bathroom to look in the mirror and saw what looked like cat ears.
"Wha-!" she tried to see if they would come off but it felt as if they were her own ears. "Ow, ow..." she stopped pulling. And saw something snake like move behind her in the mirror. She looked behind her and then down to see the thing that kept teasing her. The head of it twitched back and forth. "Wait is this a tail?!"
Having a tail and ears she didn't know what to think.
"What is going on here?!!"

Haruhi paced back and forth in her small apartment.
"Okay...I just need to calm myself. It's just ears and a tail..... That are connected to me!!" she said, trying to calm down, but saw that it want working.
Began to panic again, and quickly ran back into the bathroom to see if they were still there. And sure enough they were. She twitched her cat ears and turned around and wagged her tail back and forth, turning around again.
"Maybe this isn't so bad, I mean I do like cats," she said trying to find the benefits.
"But I never thought I'd actually turn into one!" she sighed and walked to theliving room flopping down on the couch. "ugh...." she mumbled into one of the couch pillows.
Her new ears began to twitch again, she looked up and around as she heard a small scurrying sound. She looked down at the floor by the wall to see a small mouse nibbling on some crumbs. Without thinking she got up on her hands and legs on the couch, her ears pointed forward and tail swishing back and forth. She kept her sight stuck on the mouse, shaking her butt a little she readied and then pounced capturing the rat in both hands. With one hand she batted it up into the air, and then caught it in her mouth. As the tail twitched outside of her mouth, she finally realized what she had done, quickly spitting the mouse out in her hands.the mouse just stunned a little but unharmed started cleaning itself with it's small front paws behind the ears.
"What is wrong with me!" she yelled holding her cat ears down as she ran to the bathroom to brush her mouth and teeth.

Haruhi stepped out of the door of her apartment locking it behind her. She pulled her hat on tighter, hoping her ears weren't noticeable, she had even hid her tail in her pants trying to keep it still. She walked down to the gasoline station for food and groceries. She picked a carton of milk and started to look around the other small aisles to see what else she could find. She looked at a can of sardines from the corner of her eye, she picked it up and looked at it. *Why am I craving these, I hate fish.*she thought to herself, but put it in her basket anyway. As she looked at the back of a bag of chips, she heard a scream. She leaned over the ailse to see people run out of the sliding doors as a man and his gang run in holding hand guns, bats and one a knife.
"Alright, this is a stick up," he said firing one at the ceiling. I went backwards and hid behind the aisle, sitting still.

*What to do? What to do?!* Haruhi thought to herself. She could hear them walking farther into the small store, and knock things off the shelves and into bags. She looked over the aisle again to see three of the guys guarding one of the guys as he stuffed money from the cash register into a brown bag.
"Hey we have a witness over here!" she turned to see a man pointing a gun at her. Instinct took over her, as she sensed the mans finger on the trigger about to pull it, she high kicked the gun out of his hand and spun to kick the man in the jaw, knocking him down. She jumped onto the aisle and froze for a split second as the rest of the gangs eyes stopped on her. Running and jumping and doing flips to dodge the men's bullets. She jumped down and turned to face a guy with a pipe that was running towards her, she round-house kicked him and took the pipe. As another man turned the aisle and fired at her, the bullet luckily hitting the pipe she was holding. Her sight felt advanced as if things would stop for a brief second in slow motion she could take a guess at was about to occur. She threw the pipe at the man like a boomerang hitting the gun causing it to fall out of his hand and skid on the floor. She jumped at him and delivered two punches then a knee to the groin.
If she could just hold them off till the cops came, that was her goal.
After holding off a few more she heard sirens start to approach outside. Giving a final blow to the guy who she had been struggling with, she grabbed her gallon of milk dropped the money on counter and was out of there.

She walked into her apartment locking the door behind her and leaned back on the door. She took deep breaths. *What happened back there?* she thought to herself as she looked at her hands. Maybe she was right she was given these powers and appearance for a reason.

A week had past since the incident in the gasoline station, and Haruhi was getting used to her new appearance along with her habits, one of those habits being to stay up all night till like five in the morning and then having nap attacks during the day. Haruhi had received a newspaper that had a picture of her and the number of 1-800-LOST along with some other peoples picture. She went missing a week ago, and as it turned out she was murdered and somehow brought back to life. How and why was the question still unanswered, along with who had killed her. Her life was different now for sure. She hadn't returned to school since she disappeared and didn't plan to return. Besides who would let a girl with cat ears and a tail go to a normal school. If they found out they'd probably ship her off to area 51 or some other lab to get dissected.
Haruhi awoke on top of her dresser for the third time, jumping off and landing on her hands and feet she got up. Today she had planned to change her appearance, from her hair to her clothes. Another good thing that was happening was that her memory was slowly and gradually returning. She could remember small things like where she attended school, and who some people were. She hadn't seen anyone since she was reborn, but she remembered by the pictures she had around in her apartment of her with some friends. Putting on a hat and denim blue Jean jacket over a black spagetti stap shirt, and black skinny jeans and converse, she walked to a department store. Looking at all the hair dye colors she tried to look for a color that would look natural with her skin tone but was the opposite than her current hair color which was dark brown. She picked up a dye of golden blonde. She then went over to the clothes department and looked for clothes she thought looked easy to move in.
Returning home with like seven huge shopping bags, she got to work. She went to her bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror, picking up her hair as if to put it in a ponytail and then letting it hang loose. She always admired her long hair wanting it to grow longer, but now she wanted to change and start over. She grabbed a pair of scissors from the cupboard and began to snip away. After her hair cut she dyed it making sure to get every strand of hair she could.
