Birth of Something New

Mavis had been right. Warren Powers was capable of getting her samples of the drugs she'd heard about. Someone had created them, Mavis didn't care about that, but they'd somehow made their way on the streets and they were being used terribly. Low-lives and criminals were using these amazing drugs to steal and destroy.

But now Mavis had samples and now she could work on something truly entertaining. She moved the first sample to the microscope and leaned in, looking through its scope. Velocity 9 was a drug that seemed to give super speed to those who injected it into themselves. Of course, she would need to do some tests in order to determine if there were any side effects and, if so, remove the worst ones. At that point, she could work on the next part of her plan.

After a good while of peering through the microscope and taking notes, Mavis moved the sample. She looked to her notes and her impressive intellect began going into overdrive. No one else would see it, partially cause no one else was there, but also because it was how her mind worked. The notes began moving along the page, the chemical notations moved and reformed, switching until finally Mavis had the proper formula. Now, she could synthesize the drug and begin work on experimenting with it.

But of course, she wasn't done. She'd asked for a second sample from Warren Powers. She placed the second sample on the microscope and tore the first page from the notepad. Bending forward slightly, she placed her eye to the scope and once again began analyzing the sample. Venom was a drug that gave super human strength to anyone who used it. Like Velocity 9, the drug had been used by criminals for destructive purposes. Mavis enjoyed the idea of being able to make every day people as fast or as strong as the heroes that tried to protect the city. In this way, she could 'fight' the world's heroes without physically getting involved. The idea alone caused a smirk to cross Mavis' lips as she made notes about the drug. Mavis was not one to act before taking the necessary precautions, however. She needed to determine any side effects the drugs may have and then perhaps some of her own.

Finishing her observations, Mavis looked at her notes and let her brain work. Once again, various chemical notations danced and swirled on the page, before finally settling on the correct formula for Venom. Now Mavis could synthesize both Velocity 9 and Venom as she pleased. She moved to the computer and opened up a new email. She began typing to her assistant, asking for 600 lab rats. She would need subjects for her newest activity...
