Pulling Strings (Kris, DD, and Mega)

Meeting in filthy abandoned warehouses was a little cliche, Case thought, but at least there was nobody around to give him shit for smoking inside. He was sat lazily on a box on the corner, arms resting behind his head casually as he took another drag off his cigarette. Kris had arranged a meeting for them. Something about supplies to really bring down these corporate bastards. Normally he'd blow off a meet like this and do his own thing, but these suits really got under his fuckin' skin.

"You're sure he'll show right? There's some thieve supposed to with the guy too, yeah?"

He looked to Kris with a scowl. Pix wasn't late yet, but the Edge Runner had brought them here early. Not that Case was late to anything, or had anything else to do.

"What's your like... codename? Ain't we supposed to use those when we do business?"

Kris already knew that Case was called Icarus. It was the way he'd introduced himself to the man. Using his real name seemed like a shit idea.

Zero was sipping on a cup of coffee, leaning against a crate across from Icarus. He furrowed his brow once the kid asked him if Pix would show. Did he take them for amateurs? "He'll show."

He was flipping through a magazine, a story about a possible new Titans team. He chuckled to himself when Icarus asked if Kris had a codename, "Zero." He would glance at his phone, making sure everything was in order.

"Tell me, Icarus, what has Herishaka done to you to warrant such a reaction? Obviously this isn't done on a whim. This has some anger behind it."

As a thief, Diana preferred freelancing for the simple reason that there were no strings or loose ends to worry about. However, it wasn't always easy to fence the goods and she wanted some quick easy cash sooner rather than later. So she did take the occasional job. She had a very useful set of skills and powers that let her get in and out of places with little trouble, and people always wanted things they couldn't have. You could think of her as being a courier of sorts...

But with every job that her contacts offered, she had to do alittle research and digging. She didn't ask too many questions as to WHY someone wanted what they did, it was easier to feign innocence when you didn't know. All she wanted to know was who the employer was, if they had a reputation of some kind- either of backstabbing, or causing mass destruction or genocide. But those last two were lesser concerns for her, the world was doing that enough as it is and it made no difference to her since she didn't know anyone that'd be affected by it.

So once her paranoia was subdued, she'd finally go to the meeting place- a cliched spot which in her mind implied the employer was older than her. Who honestly still held shady, clandestine meetings in shitty rundown buildings? Someone old and out of touch clinging to the past- but who had money so it was whatever. Diana would simply emerge from a dark part of the room, clad in a full body "vantablack" looking outfit that concealed her features and the shape of her body very well. It was made of the Shadowstuff she coul weave. "You're the ones I'm meeting? Is this everyone?" Diana spoke up, quickly catching sight of the possible old fart that arranged the meeting, but her eyes stopping on Case... what was HE doing here? It was hard to tell who or what she was looking at due to the material making her body look like a black featureless blur.

Zero was asking questions, and Case was tempted to tell him off for it... but he did need the help, that much was true. He couldn't do a job like this on his own. So when the older man asked what they did to him, after a short and tense hesitation, Icarus let out a rough and irritated sigh. "They didn't do shit to me. The went after some vulnerable metas. Nobody I give a shit about, but I hate nothing more than a fake bastard trying to take away someone else's freedom..." he spat to the side, as if even talking about it put a bad taste in his mouth, "but it's mostly a whim. I'll kill them because I can, and they deserve it."

Not long after his answer, someone showed up. One glance at the shadowy figure made Case want to laugh. A paranoid fucker, the woman was. Hiding behind shadows and heavy cloaks. What was this, a fucking anime? He scoffed a bit, flicking his cigarette away and standing up.

"Aye. You're meeting us. We're not all here yet though. This guys late, Zero. Hopefully because he's busy, at least." He looked at the creepy chick, frowning. "You can call me Icarus. This old dudes Zero. Who are you, girlie?"
