Main Power Origins: Mutation/Science

Powers

Darkforce manipulation: Krious's body has an extra organ that links him to the Darkforce realm and allows him to manipulate the energy flowing though the link for a variety of effects.

• Teleportation: By moving his body in an out of the darkforce realm Krious is able to almost instantly traverse between two places. The range of these teleports max out at about 40 feet and he needs to physically see the spot he's teleporting to.  Windows or other transparent material do not block this ability, but he can't jump to a spot visible through, say, a security feed. It also takes a few split seconds to enter and the transit is not entirely instantaneous.
  
• Energy Expulsion: Krious can overcharge Darkforce energy into his limbs causing a strike, kick or other motion to violently erupt a short range blast of force in the direction of the motion. The blasts have enough force to repel objects and knockback most humans. Physical contact while using this ability provides greater knockback and may even cause internal injuries.
  
• Obfuscation: In darkness Krious is able to completely hide his presence from the world around him. This not only renders him invisible to the naked eye, but also removes his thermal signature and hides any sound he makes with a low enough noise level. It does not make him incorporeal so any touch could reveal his presence. Magical detection works but depending on the type it could show up as normal or as a tiny anomaly that could just as easily be overlooked. He's able to slowly move while keeping this ability up as long as he stays in the dark. To enable this power his entire body must be hidden in darkness and stops working when darkness is removed. Also, attacking, moving too quickly or using any of his other powers is considered too loud or too fast so it will break his cloak.
  
• Internal Battery: Not really a power, but more a limit to his overall power use. The organ in his body stores a finite amount of energy that is used to power his abilities. This energy recharges at a constant rate once it gets below maximum. Because of this he cannot chain more that a few teleports, use his energy expulsion on every strike in a melee combo or keep obfuscating his body indefinitely. Usage should be precise and calculated.
  

Skills

• Tech-savvy: While most of his knowhow is the result of knowledge implementation he has one skill that he developed out of his own interests. He's at home behind any sort of electronic device. By no means a master hacker he has some tricks up his sleeve.
  
• Advanced close-quarters training: While no master of any style Krious can hold his own in a fight. His formal training is supplemented by some years of practise with his unique weapons and powerset, culminating in a unique mix of fighting styles.
  
• Vigilant: Krious likes to be prepared in all the things. He generally abstains from jumping into situations he knows nothing about and likes to have an idea of all the players in the game. He rigorously investigates people to understand their strengths and weaknesses and how to exploit them. It is difficult to completely surprise him, but be prepared when you do since he is likely to respond as unpredictable as the situation he now finds himself in.
  

Abilities

• Enhanced Physique: Exposure to Darkforce was not the only thing done to him. His physique was improved to ensure his body could endure the link to these extradimensional energies. His strength/speed/stamina are about 1.5 times the average human standard.
  His eyesight has also been improved so he can see in total darkness, albeit in greyscale.
  

Physical Weaknesses

He might be built a little stronger than normal humans, but he's still is only human and relies on clever tactics, use of equipment and plain just not getting hit.

Mental Weaknesses

He's very prone to tunnel vision when things get personal. His inquisitive nature also acts as a double-edged sword since encountering something new or unexpected can quickly turn into an obsession. While he is in full control of his action, his motivations and allegiance are the result of mind alteration. This has left his mind open and as such he's not very resistant to invasions of the mind. Just don't expect him to like you afterwards.

Equipment

• Subdermal communicator: A subdermal implant by his right ear that can connect to most communications channels. Audio received can only be heard by the user.
  This device also has a data-link that is capable of sending, storing and receiving small amounts of data and can connect wirelessly to nearby electronic devices.
  
• Ocular implant: The cornea of his eyes have been replaced by synthetic ones that allow for various functions. Information can be shown in augmented reality in combination with the data-link in his other implant. It also allow him to create snapshots for later revisiting.
  
• Wrist focus: A focus for darkforce energy made from lightweight metal. Is able to channel darkforce energies into a somewhat solid state in the form of an energy blade about the width & length of a forearm. Usually worn on his right wrist.
  Keeping this blade engaged uses up the regenerative capacty of his internal battery and prohibits the use of his energy expulsion with that limb.
  
• Shock resistant kevlar enforced armorLightweight kevlar enforced breastplate/trousers and boots to offer extra protection against conventional weapons and dampen impacts. The enforced parts of the armor cover his upper chest and shoulders, elbow joints and his entire legs and feet. The armor can take one or two hits from bladed weapons or firearms but will start to wear down quickly under relentless assault.
  A black underlayer merges these parts together into a full suit. The armor part is coloured a matte gunmetal grey. On top he wears a black tactical jacket complete with hood for extra conceilment.
  
• Gadgets: He usually carries a few gas cannisters for misdirection or masking a getaway. Any other gadgets would be mission specific.
  

Personality

It is difficult to identity what part of Krious is Kieran and what part is the zealous servant to his masters. Perhaps he has been in this state for so long that its simply who he is now. His interactions with other people are limited since he mostly spends his time observing rather that participating unless its to bend the situation to his favor. Even his fellow suvivors, now his allies in crime, operate independent of each other spread out across the globe. The only regular contact he has is with his handler which also never happens in person. He spends the little free time he has on managing contacts, information and resources, all related to his work. The only hobby he really has is technology. Messing around with some software on a laptop or checking out the newest tech he could use in his escapades. Sometimes even grabbing a soldering iron to tinker away for a few moments. He doesn't really mind though, everything else would bore him to death. In business he follows a few simple rules. You could call it his code. He will not go out of his way to make life more difficult for people who do not concern him. He will not kill innocents unless absolutely necessary. Collateral damage is regrettable, but justified if there was no other way. His word means something and is not given lightly. While he doesn't necessarily lie outright he is prone to manipulating information in his favor or withholding it alltogether. He does not like to be caught of guard or be surprised in any way. If you ever piss him off to the point of holding a grudge, be prepared for him to make life difficult.

History

Little Kieran was taken from his family during early childhood. A secret society hellbent on finding a way to force superpowers onto regular humans had his DNA marked from birth along with a few other unlucky ones. With their parents 'removed'  and pasts erased these children were simply given codenames and locked in an underground black site where various experiments took place. These experiments were a success. A few children developed a connection to the Darkforce Dimension and each began to show signs of unique powers. Some developed a telepathic connection to their fellow subjects. Others proved more destructive, being able to dematerialize objects by merely touching them. Yet there where many who showed a lack of promise or simply did not develop any powers at all. These failures simply dissapeared from the compound, never to be seen again, until there were only a handful left. Codename Krious turned out to be one of, if not the, most promising. With their first goal achieved the focus now shifted to creating the perfect little puppets to carry out their plans. Training grew even more was relentless. Combat instructions, cardio and strength training where daily repetitions alongside a program unique to their powerset. To supplement this they received various lessons on more practical things like how to operate various electronic devices and basic first aid. Everything designed to create self-sufficient operatives. Alongside all of this was a wide arrangement of mental conditioning. Artificial implantation of knowledge to remove the need for an education and heavy modifications to their behaviour and personalities to ensure loyalty and obedience. All to create the perfect little pawns for their plans. Once finished they were released upon the world to cause chaos and disorder, true goals unknown.

"Wa-... -p".

A slightly annoyed voice in his ear pulled him from the familiar emptyness of sleep. He opened his eyes only ever so slightly surprised by the unfamiliar surroundings he found himself in. He trailed his hand along the nicely cushioned seat that had made for quite a comfortable bed before taking a look around.  Tiny elongated circular room, nice decor, minibar, plenty of windows and.. clouds? Oh right, hitched a ride on a Gulfstream. The plane was descending, clearly on final approach.

"I said WAKE UP!"

Krious rose out of his seat while drawing-out a yawn and stretching his arms, making sure the person on the other end of this transmission would take notice. He turned and let his eyes fall on one of the seats behind him. Slouched within was the almost motionless body of some young businessman. The only sign of life was the slow rise and fall of his body still breathing. He'll be waking up soon. He'd picked this poor sap's plane since he'd be flying solo to Steel City in a brand spanking new jet. Pilot wouldn't be much trouble either. These businessmen where all work and wanted to be left in peace. But now he'd have to make sure he was gone before one woke up, or the other landed the plane and finished his post-flight checks.

"No need to repeat yourself... I'm up." He replied whilst steadying himself in the descending plane. "Repeat your status and mission." She spoke matter-of-factly, not allowing his half-hearted attempts to provoke her further. "100% up and ready. Recon the opposition and establish a network of contacts." And find some coffee first.

"Acknowledged. Good luck."

The ground was rapidly approaching. Looked like they were landing on the outer runway too, perfect. "Right. Let's get to work." He spoke softly to noone in particular. Security might spot him outside, but by the time they'd arrive he would be long gone. Besides, his face woudn't bring up any matches, not yet anyway. He dissapeared into a dark blue void the moment the plane touched the ground, air rushing to fill the now vacant area. His body rematerialzing on the edge of the asphalt while the plane roared along behind him, furthering its path down the runway. Wasting no time he beelined straight for the outer fence, shortening the distance with another teleport whenever his energy reserves allowed, until he'd reached the other side.

He took in the unfamiliar cityscape in front of him and prompty resumed his way toward it.
