Roll out! [Open]

CAP, The Metahuman Response, and the rest of law enforcement were on the streets trying to control the chaos that was starting to unfold after a series of strange texts had been sent to... basically everyone that had a smartphone. CAP was not one of these people for the sole reason that he was a machine, and also had no reason to own one. But when the local gangs started taking up arms, two of which seemed to be tooling up against the third, CAP was quickly brought up to speed and dispatched with The MRO. He was already very annoyed for the sole reason that based on how these messages, and this website had been set up, all he'd need to do was go into cyberspace himself and he'd have already been half way to putting a stop to this. BUT he had not yet been given the freedom to do so, something neither Rico and Chessa were... overly thrilled to accomodate for understandable reasons.

Those issues aside, CAP was following dispatch and radio communications from law enforcement to track down any gangsters- the targets, and their would-be murderers. He was nearing his destination, arriving at a three fire fight between some MROs, The Mafia, and some Skulls. A more heroic minded person would give everyone fair warning to surrender... but that would ruin the element of surprise and CAP could already get a good shot from above. So he warmed up his cannon, and fired a volley of suppression fire from above; peppering The Skulls and sending them scattering, and also tipping over their vehicles. "Hostiles who are armed, throw down your weapons right now!" CAP barked at The Mafia goons ducked behind cover in an open dining area. They were not to be eliminated unless he had to, and technically that was extended to anyone participating in this manhunt.

However, The Skulls were part of the bigger problem and lethal force was already in use. But before the pinned down gangsters could have time to think about complying, some more movement up from other direction got his attention. A Semi PLOWED through the barricade set up by the MRO trucks, forcing them to scatter. An entourage of motorcycles were close behind it, Three Oni driving them. They had helmet mounted cameras, and grenades. CAP swooped down to try and cut them off, his cannon warming up again as he managed to clothesline one of the passengers going by, and fired a shot off to try and disrupt their formation. This prevented some of them from chucking a grenade at the mafia goons, and gave them time to actually move out of the way of the explosions. A few Skulls started getting back up, scrambling for their guns and started opening fire on CAP- who responded with a jet of napalm- yup, lethal force was called for.

But then something caught CAP by surprise, in the form of SOMETHING being strong enough to actually knock him off of his feet. It was a black armored soldier with burning orange eyes. CAP crashed into an iron fence that made up some decorative walling surrounding the dining area outside. A soldier, here? AN ACTUAL challenge? CAP leaped back to his feet and was rewarded with a blast to the chest from what he quickly assumed was an explosive shot, sending him flying even further back. Three Oni bikers started to double back around, the passengers hoping off their bikes and drawing guns to mop up the mafia goons while CAP and The MRO were distracted with the Cerberus Operative.

Ever since that unknown website was linked to everyone in the city things had gotten pretty crazy, what with every criminal in the city going after the Mafia, and even some ordinary civilians tried to give it a go. Part of this craziness involved a three-way battle between law enforcement, the Mafia and some gang members. A gang of bikers broke through a blockade of trucks and decided to get themselves involved in the action too. As Cap was knocked back by the soldier with orange eyes the bikers would circle round and take aim at the mafia thugs.

They would likely have mowed them down, were it not for the intervention of a certain meddler who knocked them all down with quick blows before they even noticed he had arrived. The assailant was clad from head to toe in a green outfit that brought to mind one of those Japanese superhero shows for kids, and he stood over the bikers in a dramatic pose that anyone not wearing a mask would probably be too embarrassed to perform "It is I, the fighter of the wind! Verdant Gale!"

The bikers he had knocked down didn't seem too impressed by his entrance as they aimed their weapons up at him, but with a flurry of movement the hero knocked their weapons out of their hands. He then knocked them out with further strikes before turning back to the Mafia members who he had just saved "Now I'll take you to the police for your protection!"

Whether the mafia thugs accepted this or not didn't matter, as the speedy hero would start grabbing them and would drop them off by the police, stripped of their weapons. He would keep on doing this, leaving it up to the police, the MRO and CAP to fight off the bikers unless necessary.

Now there was ANOTHER crime fighter arriving on scene. It was a good thing a Cerberus Operative was here, otherwise this would be very one sided as the Operative pulled something on the side of a heavy looking assault weapon and took aim at CAP, starting to fire off a burst as CAP took to the air above with his cannon charging up and firing off a shot. The Soldier also took to the air, landing back onto the top of the semi before letting loose a wide spray of bullets in all directions. "COME HERE!" CAP roared, eyes glowing bright as he overclocked his thrusters to ram the Cerberus Operative off and through a wall into the building behind him.


The MRO would quickly start to move The Mafia goons while the bikers still on their bikes started to once again start to head back, drawing handguns and taking shots off The Verdant Gale... were those arms reaching for some of the downed Three Onis? Actually, they looked more like black tentacles leading to yellow gleaming eyes beneath a couple of parked cars. One of The Bikers would bark something in Japanese and rev his engine, trying to rally the others to charge The MRO down on their bikes- they were hell bent on killing those goons.

The Cerberus Operative would come smashing through the wall of the building he and CAP had gone through, and after a brief exchange, CAP overpowered him and sent him flying out. He kicked his armor's own thrusters and kept from landing to hard, now just trying to get distance as a couple missles came chasing after him from CAP. CAP flew after him, taking up higher with his cannon already charged and ready to release a volley down as the Operative would try to get away from the missle... when suddenly an obvious Sniper Shot erupted from... somewhere and nailed CAP's cannon dead on to break it off from him. Oh... when he found the shooter... he was going to tear them a new one...

Ren would be Hauling ass down the highway on his motorbike his new AR and plasma pistol on his person with his shotgun tucked away back at his home Another huge bounty area of mafia persons was his destination. From the missiles to the gunfire to the guy looking like he's late for an anime convention, Ren Would rack the slide on his AR. "welp no bounties today though i should probably help these guys" when he noticed the sniper round clip one of the Hero's shoulder cannon He began heading that direction.

coming up on the hero he would put himself in between the hero and the direction that sniper round pinged off the weapon to break it. "Looks like you could use some assistance Fellow Synthetic," Ren said activating his armor regenerator to be ready to repair any damage if that sniper feels ready to put another round into him. Scanning the environment for anyone moving his red eyes glowed before he reached down and unbuckled the clasp holding his plasma pistol in its holster. "So whats the situation down here?"

Like the worlds weirdest Santa Claus Simon would deliver mafia thugs out of the way of harm and into the ranks of the MRO, where they could easily be captured and detained for their own safety. Half the town was out to kill them after all. The bikers took aim at Simon while he was transporting mafia goons so he started moving more unpredictably so that all of the shots missed, hitting a moving target going so fast while also driving on a bike was nearly impossible after all.

After failing to stop Verdant Gale from rescuing the mobsters the bikers would all circle round and try to charge on the MRO to get to the captured Mafioso's. Jesus Christ these guys were determined! Simon noticed another person arrive who seemed like he was here to help, but clearly he was more focused on the sniper so it was up to Simon to fight off the charging bikers.

Simon flew over to their charge from the side and started throwing kicks, not at them but at their vehicles, hoping to knock them over or at least slow their charge by forcing them to focus on keeping balance. He would keep doing this hoping that even if he didn't trip them all over that he would trip enough to have the others stumble over their brethren's fallen vehicles. Depending on the success of this gambit Simon would either go help CAP and Ren with their sniper problem or finish things here.

There was also the MRO scrambling back into position while Simon started side swiping the bikers; who likewise did opt to avoid him to being tripped as they tried shooting back at him. MRO focused fire on them though, managing to tag any  that fell behind and knock them off their bikes- they'd probably be feeling that in the morning at the least. The ones that managed to react in time, decided to finally start cutting their losses and took to an alley passed where The Skulls had been positioned moments ago, trying to make their escape.

"Hey, isn't that the kid who helped with that giant ice snake?"

"Sure is, and it makes me feel much better than having that homocidal toaster around," some MRO quipped, firing off after the escaping Three Oni before starting to shift their focus back to one of the Cerberus Mercs, others trying to get the mafia goons into cover from the sniper that revealed their presence.

"Sir! I'm having trouble getting in touch with HQ," a MRO reported.

"What? Keep trying and keep yer heads down!"


Oh CAP was livid, standing defiantly as his own red eyes scanned the area, looking for a smoking barrel or a possible laser sight emitting from a building. But it didn't look like there was any of that as they were joined by... another robot? Better still, a robot that could repair himself with nanobots. What was this weird sensation? Relief? No, Chessa described it once to him before as... joy. Either way, his cannon was repaired, and there was another machine to actually rely on for dealing with this uprising going on. "Criminals hunting more criminals, and some very well armed mercenaries," CAP retorted simply, not excluding Ren from that group as he focused his attention back to the Cerberus merc he had fired at a moment ago.

The Merc in question had gotten distance and dealt with the pair of missles in the most odd way- he turned his back and crouched down. He let the missles crash into his back, engulfing him in a fiery and smokey explosion for a moment or two. "That one isn't dead..." CAP stated after switching to Thermal, unable to find the sniper as he turned and readied to engage the one on the ground again. Then he saw the merc loading something onto hi monstrous looking machine gun. "Move, rocket!" CAP barked, his cannon warming up and letting off a shot into the Cerberus as another mini-rpg flew out of the smoke and crashed into him- sending CAP flying back from the explosion. On the plus side, the merc had also been knocked backwards, flying out of the smoke which was cleared up from the blast. He was gonna need some repairs after this.

The Merc got back to his feet, and didn't look like he was going to hang around as the Semi he had used to get here seemed to start... driving on its own accord toward him. The Merc kicked his armor's thrusters on and landed on top of it, and likewise started to make a getaway. The Sniper also seemed to have lost interest by this point...

OOC: The Cerberus Merc, btw

getting knocked off his feet from the blast wasn't fun nor was seeing the other robot get damaged. Taking his knife out he slipped the blade underneath an armor plate to get a bit of the nano goo to seep out before the armor repaired itself. "ngh. damn that hurt a bit." he said before splattering the nano goo on Cap to give him a slight repair ".it ain't much but it was repairing me a little so i thought it sould work to help with some of the blast damage for you"

as the mercenary began his escape on the semi. "hey robot first one to eliminate that merc buys the other a data upgrade" he said with a challenge before reving his back and heading for the semi with the intention to lodge his knife into the semi trailer's wall and start climbing it.

With the combined efforts of Verdant Gale and the MRO the charging Motorcyclists were defeated pretty easily, with most of them getting knocked down until eventually the last remaining few decided to bail and drove down some alleyways. Simon was quite surprised to hear that he was recognised from the giant snake incident from a few months ago, frankly he had probably contributed the least to the defeat of the snake. But it was still good to be recognised all the same, a fact that brought a smile to the heroes face underneath his helmet.

After that Simon decided that he would go look for the Sniper who had been pestering CAP, flying up high to get a birds eye view of any of the buildings in the area, hoping that from above he would be able to spot them "Alright buddy, where are you hiding?" he said, dropping his over-dramatic hero act since there was no one to hear him.

It would stand to reason that based on where in the city this was happening, that if there was to be a shooter, the rooftops would be the most logical place to be. However that didn't entirely seem to be the case, or at least at first but if Simon was especially observant, he'd notice a very faint shimmer of movement. It was probably visible enough with his bird's eye view, but it was clearly the work of some kind of cloaking tech as the shimmer seemed to fade more as it reached a fire escape- the cloaked assailant clearly trying to get down to ground level to probably get out of sight as quickly as possible...


CAP meanwhile was... very appreciative of the "nano goo" and Ren untentionally just made a war machine that much more deadly with the second application. CAP's eyes flicked on once and almost immediately, the nanobots would... become his. He wasn't sure how much he'd be able to get out of them, as Ren had stated it should just be able to help him out but if he could get more, he wouldn't need to worry about needing repairs. "I know someone who might be able to help with that..." CAP retorted, quickly getting back to his feet and giving chase after the merc.

The semi continued to steer as if by remote control, as the merc clearly didn't look like he had anything to do with it as he took this time to load a new belt into his gun. The Merc was unintentionally fortunate that CAP was unusually merciful with a fellow machine giving chase, and so only had plasma shots to contend with. CAP could've probably ended this faster itha well placed nano-probe laced shot, but... he was designed to kill preferably to subdue and so was going to kill this merc. The Merc wasn't blind to Ren though and after a side step, fired a burst at CAP, and angled his gun down for another burst toward where he saw Ren trying to climb up.

"Two, synthetics... acknowledged," The Commando spoke to someone, presumably whoever was currently employing him as he tanked a couple more hits from CAP's plasma cannon- it seemed like his armor was fairly heat resistant, but he was close to being knocked off. Traffic around the immediate area of conflict had been properly blocked off to minimize danger to civillians, but the trio were out of that safe spot now. But someone was clearly tampering with the traffic lights, as the number of cars that would in theory be in the way seemed to be strangely very few until a van ran a red light and started to drive up along side, the side door sliding open and revealing... another identical merc with a couple Three Oni decked out in combat gear. The front of the van had two more Three Oni thugs.

"Annoying insects..." CAP growled overhead, locking a missle on and letting it loose straight at the van with reckless abandon. The Merc inside fired a flare... which diverted the missle and sent it flying off course as a Three Oni goon started firing at Ren.

Sparks flew as did a small amount of nano goo as the machine gun burst into Ren hitting his upper torso and left eye. "ahh!" he gasped at the sensation of the leaking nanofluid as some began to repair the plating. before grunting as the oni thugs weapons began shredding what's left of his body armor. "screw this." pulling out his plasma pistol he emptied the magazine into the wheels of the truck in an attempt to slow this thing down.

Dropping the pistol still dangling off the side his knife started to bend under the extra lead weight. Rens Eyesocket still leaking nano goo as he pulled off his ar and one-armed it as he mag dumped it using enhanced targeting to send the armor-piercing rounds from his rifle threw the cabin on the oni van with intent to kill. As his knife felt like it was just about to snap he looked to CAP and chuckled "Guess he's all yours, Feel free to come by hades corp if you want to get yourself some of that nano goo." feeling his knife begin to creak and come loose he began to fall towards the asphalt of streaked with melted rubber from the plasma attack on the trucks wheels.

Simon honestly loved being able to fly, it gave him access to this amazing view that few other people had of the city, it was honestly breathtaking. It was a shame that he was up here for business rather than pleasure, he was more focused on looking out for the sniper than enjoying the view. For a second it seemed like the airborne hero had no luck, but then he saw a slight shimmer of movement on one of the rooftops. Narrowing his eyes Simon would fly down there, building up momentum as he dove down at high speed until he crashed down on the fire escape, hoping to beat the Sniper to the fire escape so that he would be cut off from his escape route "Come on! Fight me like a man!" he declared dramatically with his palm facing out and the other hand raised into the air.

A Three Oni thug swore as the shots hit the tires, the merc inside diving out and kicking his armor's thrusters on to avoid crashing into the pavement as the van and its occupants weren't so lucky- the driver losing control onto the sidewalk and crashing into a store front. CAP had meanwhile been flying lower, trying to keep out of the sights of the LMG totting merc when he saw Ren dispatch his reinforcements. CAP would catch Ren before he lost his grip on the semi, and fired off a shot into the front tires of the semi before picking Ren off and flying off as the truck started to veer wildly. So much fo not causing collateral...

"We can discuss that later when the enemy is dead," CAP retorted as the truck drove off passed a bridge into the ditch below. CAP would set Ren back down and spin around to try and shoot at the second merc, but he was no where to be found. CAP growled with irritation from the cowardice of these soldiers, turning his attention back in the direction of the first one. "That first may have also fled..." CAP said speeding off after it, cannon and missiles primed as he scanned down into the deep ditch below. The semi had after landing seemingly flipped onto its side, and so far he was right- except he saw the merc sprinting toward the underside of the bridge. CAP fired missiles... a lot of them, kicking off and flying down after him in hopes of cutting off his escape as The Merc was bombarded and sent flying.

The Merc had lost his gun, and CAP dropped down aiming for his head to literally pop like a grape only to miss as the merc rolled and leaped back to his feet. The Merc had already learned quickly that while his armor could endure what CAP could dish out, CAP beat him in hand to hand combat and he was just trying to not deal with that as he broke away and scrambled for his gun. CAP was right on top of him, kicking him back and further away from the bridge.

Ren would see a trio of Three Oni bikers speed by, the lead biker signalling for the other two to pull along side as they ALL drove over the edge and into the ditch below. Were they seriously going to try and stop CAP? Seemed like they were gonna try...


MEANWHILE...

Simon would be chasing down what may as well been the human equivalent to The Predator when he landed on the fire escape, the sudden landing causing enough of a disturbance to make another shimmer appear up one flight. Well, this was awkward for both parties involved as Simon had something thrown at him- explosives? Not quite, flash bang discs, actually- The Sniper then spinning around and diving over the railing to land back down onto the ground with nothing but cracks in it to show for it. But his cloaking also came off again, revealing a hooded and lightly armored figure. He had zero desire to deal with a super right now, and only had one other trick up his sleeve to maybe get out of this if needed. This would soon be revealed as a drone would suddenly 'appear' as its cloaking shimmered off, the drone letting loose a barrage of energy bolts at Simon to help try and cover The Sniper's escape.

By this time Ren's damaged plating along his chest had been repaired and his Damaged eye lens fixed but not on. Ren knew hed need to head to Hades Corp after this to get properly repaired. Hoping that Cap could Handle the merc down there When he noticed "Cap three fast movers heading your way ill try to slow them down." popping a fresh mag into the assault rifle he booted up his Enhanced Targeting before backing up to the opposite railing on the bridge. Taking a breath he ran towards the edge of the railing jumping off. "YOLO!!" while in freefall his reaction time and speed just a tad faster than his fall as he directed a 2 10 round bursts in the direction of two of the bikers while attempting to fall/bodyslam the third from his fall.

Somewhat predictably Simon had been unable to accurately guess where exactly his invisible opponent was, but in the process of making a wild guess he had been able to accidentally reveal the Sniper's true location, one flight above him. Simon flew up to meet him, only to be met with flashbangs right in his face "Wah!?!" Simon shielded his eyes as best he could, but he was still left disoriented for quite a few seconds "Ugh, darn..."

When Simon could see well again the Sniper was on the ground and was running off. Simon flew down to intercept him, only to be met with a drone that started firing energy blasts at him "Woah!" Simon bobbed and weaved to the side to avoid the blasts then lashed out with a kick, hoping to send it flying so that it would hit the wall behind it and smash against it.

Whoever was controlling the drone currently at least knew well enough to make an attempt at evasion, but Simon could clearly fly faster than the drone could move in reasponse as he did manage to clip it and it send it spiraling down out of control- bursting into flames a moment later from a built in self-destruct feature. But that was as long of a distraction as The Sniper needed to get up and run, baseball sliding down beneath a truck where he was met with red, glowing eyes before the darkness beneath it intensified and waned- he was gone.


Back to the scene from an action movie, The Merc was in a bad spot which wasn't getting better through CAP's determination to put him down, and through Ren's support of picking off a couple of his reinforcements, the third managing to evade him and sped toward the merc. The remaining Three Oni seemed to already anticipate CAP and shifted his sitting position as CAP threw a kick back. The Three Oni biker leaping off just before CAP sent the bike flying, with him landing awkwardly but no worse for wear. He would then nonchalantly blasted by CAP's cannon, knocked off his feet before bringing up his handgun as a barrage of bullets tore into one of CAP's shoulders. "What now?" CAP hissed kicking his thrusters on and trying to evade more bullets from the underside of the bridge.

Based on how those actually tore through his body, and how well armed the first merc was, CAP was willing to bet it was the second one- and lo and behold back under the bridge there on the ground with Ren, was him. "Hostile on your six," CAP dropped a few minues down as the second merc fired off a couple more bursts to give his friend an openeing. CAP let off a volley of his own, peppering the area to force the merc back while the first one thruster jumped over the mines CAP had dropped down. He was not trying to mess with him or Ren, he was hell bent on extraction. "Coming your way," CAP called out, overlocking his thrusters to try get over to Ren to try and head the first merc off.
