It had been annoying to have her close-quarters plan literally crumble, but what stood to take the crown was the fact that Elisabeth believed Raptured would kill someone, let alone allow spirits to do so. The undereducated genius clearly had done no research on the temple nor its inhabitants. What awaited the DOMA agents was a psychological barrage and crippling horrors, the kind of terror that led a grown man to sleep with the lights on. This, they deserved for infiltrating the temple; fair play, in other words.
As for being a monster? Rapture nearly laughed. If she were a monster, Tesla truly knew nothing about such things. Monsters oppressed people. They stood in the form of holier-than-thou sycophants with billions of dollars. And yeah, the occasional giant skeleton definitely fit the bill. But the scariest monsters? Humans. The so-called-intelligent little girl should have a good look in the mirror, which shouldn’t be hard for someone with such great hubris.
Telsa’s escalated words played like music in Rapture’s ears. Even though she didn’t show it, the fear aura had to be having an effect. An impressive display from the petulant child, Ryuuzaki had to admit. But someone whose powers came from an armored suit held no form of recognition to the hardworking yokai priestess. Only three years separated the two, and yet, they were leagues beyond each other in so many ways. If the youth were to truly inherit the earth, the earth would change more rapidly than ever.
Two missiles were fired fruitlessly; they were sliced vertically with Rapture’s blood spirit blades, both of which boiled hotter than an explosion, subverting the weapons before they could even combust. Child’s play. Telsa thought she could slay Rapture? The younger teen wasn’t capable of killing, and the yokai priestess knew it; her soul didn’t emanate the depth of understanding death. Meanwhile, Ryuuzaki knew death in all Her greatness and cruelty, so well versed that the veil between the two had become so thin that she could walk the line with ease.
“I could have slain you already,” Rapture breathed, “but I know the difference between choosing to do so or not... your death would be an inconvenience.”
Flinging one blade like a boomerang, Rapture took the opportunity to grab a third blade from her chest, certainly taking a large amount of energy while being rewarded with another tool. Throwing the other weapon like a javelin, she followed up with a close-to-the-chest charge, aiming to slice open the suit and deal some real damage. So far, there had been no blood beside the blades, but Rapture felt the battle closing.
