Forest Training( Glenn)

A boulder, rather curiously, rose slowly up and down, seeming almost to hop. Beneath the magical hopping boulder, a voice grunting out."50....51...52...53!!" The boulder rises one more time, then falls to the side, rolling a short distance.The short, blue haired teen that was previously hidden sits up, panting."Huh...huh..huh...I'm getting there..whew.." Wiping away the sweat, he  stands up, walking over to a bottle and taking a sip."Right...what to do now...."

"um dois três, one two three!" There was a shout, a three count specifically as an unnamed figure danced around a small group of sharpened sticks, at least it looked like a dance at first sight, the figures movements nearly hypnotic, hard to pin down as they moved and maneuvered, body swaying to the beat of some unheard, unknown rhythm. It was both a dance and a fighting style, closer inspection would reveal every so often the figure would strike with a kick or grab an imaginary target by the ankles after a quick fall back, springing forth to attack quickly. She and yes, anyone could tell it was a girl or woman by now was practicing, shadow boxing and using small sharpened sticks, sharp enough to pierce flesh, to keep herself on her toes.

She was definitely something though, very fluid, graceful and quick as a viper bite. The way she moved was simply amazing as she continued her routine, repeating herself again, almost like a chant as sweat glistened and seemed to....steam off her in sizzling streams. Come to think of it, it was getting kind of warm around her, like a dry desert heat almost. Almost like her rhythm and dance, that mix of attack and defense, was just too hot to handle perhaps.

The halfling tilts his head curiously, hearing something, and walks over to the sound. Getting there, he sees a figure that seems to be dancing, though on closer inspection it was a type of fighting style.Toji sits down quietly, curious...He hadn't encountered a style like this before.

Capoeira was a special little thing, a Brazilian martial arts, unique in that unlike most forms it did incorporate dance and acrobatics; even music and rhythm. So in a way, she was most certainly dancing, if in a surreal manner and way. It was how she worked, how capoeiristas worked when they practiced, though it was best with another person, unfortunately she didn't have another person. Was almost certain no one in Jump city besides herself used this relatively unique style of fighting.

Everything about it was beautiful, artistic; powerful as she used her bodies fulcrum points, leverage and speed to juke and dodge, moving with this swaying lightweight motion before delivering a vicious elbow blow, straightforward as they come, against a tree with a sharp crack and then retreating, falling back and down onto a single leg and making with a leg sweep that was nothing more than a fake out, as she carried herself forward and up with the motion, sweeping leg raised high before bringing it down with another sharp crack, breaking a tree branch as thick as her wrist in the process. She was a few feet closer than she was before. "um dois três, one two three!"

Beautiful in it's motion, like watching water flow gently down a streaming path, but deadly and fast, like a landslide when the boom was inevitably lowered.

Toji watches avidly as the woman continues on.Wow...it was similar to the way he fought, but less rough and more fluid...Probably because she relied on training, instead of instinct.There were also differences in the movements. His, when he bothered to really move instead of just punching or kicking, were more akin to  basic b-boying, and he bounced off the environment. But...this was a little more..."Coooool...."

It was right there she stopped, hands placed on the tree with a huff, chest rolling as she threw her head back. Then someone else spoke up that wasn't her, and her head snapped up, body twisting and whirling to face the noise with a blink. "Quem é você?", she was alone or she was initially and never really thought to switch to English, second language and all that, so not as great as her first though, as she assumed a defensive stance and glared, eyes like silver daggers. Tension, the air was pretty tense, right now and she was all coiled up, muscles in her legs bunched, taut and tight like a pair of high powered springs as she stared down the short stack pintsize.

"Who are you?" she asked again, this time in English, hands held flat and open, about chest level. Guard/attack dog mode by any other name, she was literally, just geared for a fight, adrenaline was pumping, heart racing, reflexive in a sense. Not quite fight or flight, but she was ready to hurt someone if someone had to be hurt. And she was pretty good at doing that.

The teen blinks. Oops...he hadn't meant to disturb her.Noting her defensive stance, he raises his hands, grinning  sheepishly."Um...sorry.." He didn't want to have to fight, and things were kinda tense,and so, make sure she knows he wasnt out for battle.Standing up, he grins at the question." I'm Toji Okami! Sorry again, its just that dance fighting looked interesting, so I stayed to watch.Who're you?"

The woman stood there with hands on hips, she never once dropped her guard as she examined him, not with any interest mind you, wasn't her type or anything like that, but more of a curiosity to it. He was a peculiar sight out here in the woods after all, since one rarely if ever finds or sees a blueberry head way out here. Course it could be hair dye too, that's another possibility. But she didn't dwell on it long, the heat around her was a contrast to the rest of the forest, especially with how dry it was. Like desert heat.

Course it didn't bother her though, Libbey was used to this kind of heat. "Yeah? Well, Toje, I'm Libbey and it's not dance fighting, it's Capoeira." She literally stressed it right on the whole dance fighting thing, guess you could say that was a peeve of hers. But the again, she couldn't blame him, poor thing, like never even heard that word in his life. "But ey, just call it by it's name okay? You know it now so be at least decent on that."

Toji tilts his head curiously. It seemed really hot out right now...It seemed to generate from her..He shrugs. At least it wasn't coldness.The titan grins as she introduces herself."Nice to meetcha, Libbey!" Toji nods as she says its Capoeira, and to call it by it's name. He nods respectfully." Yes, ma'am..Where'd you learn Capoeira?"

Where'd she learn it? Huh, no one's ever asked her that one before. God, this almost makes you miss casual conversation with people, especially people who were more interested in you for something other than a pretty pair of eyes. Or your ass. But there was some fun in that kind of stuff too, flirting and teasing, but simple conversation? It was definitely a nice change of pace as she balanced on a single foot with a hum. "Brazil, father taught me, he was a master of Capoeira, good man, strong, kind and polite. A man of the people."

And the thought of him dead, empty lifeless eyes staring into the abyss and beyond. There was one reason she didn't like to speak of it, but to keep his memory alive? A little emotional pain, a tug at the strings of her heart, it was worth it. And to keep it from happening to other good people? She was ready to get blood on her hands, to kill and it made her question how the world was run and why, why people thought just putting them away was punishment enough.

It was almost laughable and she caught herself mid-chuckle, head bowed low and a finger brushing over her bandaged nose. Was pretty stupid in context, but making sure someone would never get hurt again by someone, then sometimes, the permanent solution was the best solution. If only people could figure that out for themselves instead of thinking that....everyone can be saved or redeemed that the world wasn't just black and white, that there wasn't just some good and some evil. There was a moral grey area out there, and some people find it and some don't. "He is, was, a good man and I'm sad to know, he's not here with me."

Toji nods, grinning, then tilts his head."Hmm? Brazil?" OK, ok...He'd been slacking on research and homework, he'd admit it. The boy smiles, nodding."Ah...Your father taught you, huh?" Same for him..at least a little.The Incident happened before dad could really start his training.Then she says she misses him. The boy blinks, then nods."I...I see..I've lost people also." He close his eyes, shaking as he remembers...With a snort, the boy buries it again, shaking his head and looking up at the woman, grinning."Wanna spar?"

"A spar....?" Libbey raised a hand to her chin, pinched it between thumb and forefinger with a blink. Now that was an interesting question, shadowboxing was alright in most contexts, but getting down with an actual person? Randomization, unpredictability? It was a better learning experience than punching and kicking trees. That was for damn sure as she let go and nodded softly, the softness turning more firm, resolute, sure as she stretched and pulled her arms back with a multitude of pops and cracks, bones and joints crackling as she worked some kinks out with a grunt.

"Sure, maybe I'll learn something new."

Toji let's her think, then hops excitedly when she says yes."Alright!!!!" The teen calms slightly, bowing respectfully, then looks up, a mischeivous smile on his face."Here I come!!"He then runs over,still slow enough to be predicted, but surprisingly fast. Seeming to trip, Toji actually spins, pointing his feet at Libbey as he braces himself on a hand. Contorting, the halfling presses off the ground and spins in midair, his legs and feet tracing a circle out.If it landed, it'd trip his sparring partner.

She'd never seen anyone so excited for a spar before, it almost threw her off a little as she watched him charge forward which also threw her off, he didn't waste a second to press the attack. But, it made her happy, best defense was a solid offense and all that as she fell, seemingly tripped, but it was the same thing she did before, falling back onto one leg, just as his foot made contact with her own. At least that's what it looked like. But no, she was good at defensive play as she sprang forth, body still low to the ground one hand for support on the ground as she spun and kicked, twirling so that her body corkscrewed, transmitting all that momentum into her foot.

And it would carry her around, making one heel kick into two, a so called, double Meia Lua de Compasso. Provided the first didn't hit, or was blocked.

Toji grins as he makes contact..then suddenly he's seeing a foot coming in. The boy snaps his arms up into a guard, and just in time as the attack propels him back, though not quickly enough to avoid the second. He fly's back, twisting around in mid air but still landing awkwardly enough to roll a sort distance.The boy pops up, laughing.'What an awesome attack!! Lots of power to it!" He jumps up, rebounding off a nearby tree trunk and flying through the branches. Landing behind Libbey, he tries for a palm strike, followed by flowing around her and smacking her gut with his forearm.
