Jemmy chuckled at Jenny's request. "I'll see what I can do. Your next funeral will be a real party."
Bio asked what a Lord of Chaos was, and he actually sounded like he cared. Jemmy studied him in the open doorway. She couldn't blame him for not knowing. Technically, humans weren't supposed to know what they were. It just made everything more complicated. Then again, Jemmy wasn't supposed to be on Earth at all, but she didn't care.
She considered how to best answer the question. She didn't want to look like she was showing off, but she didn't want to leave a wrong impression, either.
Jemmy held her hand out, and a small table appeared out of nowhere in front of her. A white table cloth formed next, followed by a plate topped with hot steak, fancy silverware, a glass of wine, and a lit candle. Jemmy cut a chunk out of the steak and took a bite before sipping the wine. At this point, she was sure she had made her point clear, so she spoke her answer out loud.
"A god."
Jemmy and Carmen left the house, climbed in the taxi, and rode away to the hotel that awaited them. Jemmy left the table, cloth, plate, steak, silverware, glass, and wine behind. It wasn't worthy of a 5-star restaurant, but it was real food, and it wasn't half bad. These items would stay in the physical world for an hour before suddenly blinking out of existence. Any nourishment gained from the meal, however, would remain.
Perhaps that gift would inspire Bio to be more polite the next time they met, either out of thankfulness or out of fear.
