Black Jack was tired of waiting, he had waited too long to make his move, the times had shifted, people had come and gone, and it was all because of a short circuit in his equipment. The neuro-net system had shorted, a side effect of it's experimental nature, causing him to go catatonic for far too long. The nano-bots had kept him alive feeding off of stored nutrients, slowing his heart rate and slowing extraneous bodily functions, but now he was awake, and it was all thanks to nearly 2 tons of rubble as the ceiling had literally down around his ears.
He had been hiding out in a condemned building, apparently the city ordinances had finally deemed fit to tear the building down. Of course they had missed him on the upper floors in the little hideout he had made for himself. But the blatant sloppiness of the inspection team had done him a favor as the concrete and dry came crashing down, they slammed into his helmet, forcing a hard reset of the processor, and saving his life from eventual death.
The nano-bots had done a good job of keeping him alive if barely, but he knew that he was going to need some serious TLC if he was going to get back into the world, and that started with a meal, then a shower, and then cleaning his equipment, and then more medical treatment than he could shake a stick at. But right now, he needed something else. Right now, he needed to get unburied alive.
Looking around, Black Jack took his bearings in, he was pinned downed that much was for sure a few support beams keeping him in place, the only question was, was he right side up, or upside down? Doing his best to figure it out, Black Jack picked up a rock and tossed it at his face, if it fell back down he was right side up, and if it kept going...well then things would get interesting.
Tossing the rock Black Jack saw that to his disappointment, he was upside down. "Crap..." was all Black Jack could muster as contemplated his problem and it's solution. That was when an old game he had played a while back popped into his mind, Angry Birds. It was his salvation, grinning behind his helmet, Black Jacked pulled the pin of a grenade on his belt.

The demolition crew wasn't sure exactly what happened. And by the time the police arrived, they were still clueless. All they knew was that there was an explosion that knocked them onto their ass and destroyed some of their equipment. Only the one furthest from the blast could hear and see something else other than the resounding boom, and what he witnessed he wasn't sure he wasn't hallucinating, but he could've sworn he saw somebody flying backwards through the air shouting "Up, up and away!"
