Floor 14 (Dar then ask)

Phoenix was walking through the beach scene. It would be a beautiful place to stay, if there weren't huge scorpion underground getting ready to attack her any second. They could pop up and slash at her, taking her life and hopes away from her. It was a scary place, but she knew at the end, there was a boss that if defeated, would give her a lot of experience and a few other secret treasures.
She probably would have to call for help at some point. she wanted to do this alone, she wanted to be strong, but sometimes determination won't get you far.

After about an hour of sneaking around, Phoenix went into the ocean. She walked until she was mid calf in water. It felt good against her skin, but at the same time, it irritated her. She hated the idea that this whole life that they were living was a fake world. It was all in their heads and once they left, they had to go back to the cold real world.

Phoenix snapped out of thought when the ground shook. She looked onto the shore of the beach and saw sand move, then collapse. Two giant scorpion emerged from the sand, snapping their claws. Phoenix took out her sword and shot off towards the scorpion, using all the speed she had. She struck the side of the first scorpion, and dodged the second's claw. She then stabbed one in the head, taking a lot of HP from it.

Phoenix looked at the two and smirked, easy right? But right when she was getting comfortable the scorpion's claws began to rain down in her. Left and right claws would smash next to Phoenix, missing her by inches. She dodged them all then shot off towards the other side of the beach. another Scorpion emerged and went to join it's brothers. While they began to follow her, Phoenix quickly opened her menu and messaged one of her closest allies, Leejay. "I need help on Floor 14, Giant Scorpions!" She typed as she turned around and shot off towards the scorpions, dodging their moves barley.

Scorpion 1: 50% HP
Scorpion 2: 64% HP
Scorpion 3: 94% HP

There was a bright white flash of light on top of one of the most injured giant scorpion. If Phoenix listened closely, she would hear three words spoken calmly. "Heart Stopping Punch." A brilliant stream of light came shooting out of the scorpion's stomach. The monster's health bar reached zero, and it collapsed into the shallow water.

Leejay Lefray was standing on top of the dead scorpion's back. The scorpion shattered into raw data, disappearing from sight. Lefray allowed himself to simply fall through the void and land gracefully in the water. "Beautiful weather," Lefray said. "I hate it."

One of the scorpions turned to chase Lefray. He started running, keeping a good amount of distance between him and the giant monster. What would be the best strategy here? If he and Phoenix focused on one enemy, they would be able to defeat it much quicker. However, that would leave the other scorpion to attack them both while they were distracted.

He called out to Phoenix. "Can you take on one of them alone?"

The scorpion chasing Lefray shot out its stinger, which stretched a lot farther than Lefray had anticipated. He jumped to the side at the last moment, evading the attack.

Phoenix was surprised to see how effective Leejay was. He was silent like a ninja, something Phoenix was lacking. She was a fast player, one of the fastest around, but she could be a little to loud sometimes.
Leejay asked if she could handle a scorpion. "As long as you can take care of yourself, I'm fi-." Phoenix began but was cut off by the scorpions tail slamming down right next to her. Phoenix back flipped away from it and landed in a fighting position, her Maelstrom sword in front of her. She looked at the monster and suddenly didn't look like the happy, fun, bubbly Phoenix everyone knew. She looked like a new person. "That was too close for comfort. Now you've gone and pissed me off!" Phoenix yelled at the scorpion as she charged at it, dodging three of its attacks and slashing it's legs.
She dodged the stinger and used it to her advantage. She ran up the stinger with such speed, she was only a red blur. "Fire Light!" She yelled as her sword spun like a screw driver and dug a hole straight through it's head.

the Scorpion burst into pixels, leaving Phoenix in the dust. She then turned to Leejay, waiting to see if he needed help.

Phoenix was able to take out her scorpion with apparent ease. Lefray wasn't sure if he could do the same. His scorpion snapped at him with both claws, stabbed at him with its stinger, tried to bite him with its mandibles, and spit acid out of its mouth at him. How many attacks did this thing need?

Dodging a claw swipe, Lefray jumped in for a counter-attack. He punched the scorpion in the side, but its heavy armor protected it against most of the damage. Lefray scowled. Heavy armor was the bane of monk builds like him. His special sword art attack could pierce through this shell, but his normal attacks were another story. He had barely hurt the scorpion at all. Should he use his Heart Stopping Punch again? If he did, then he wouldn't be able to use any more sword arts until he rested. If any other scorpions appeared, or even worse, a boss, then he would be unable to deal with them effectively.

This monster had to have some sort of a weak point. He had seen other monsters of this size with an area you could do that would do more damage. Dodging two more claw attacks, Lefray realized that the location of the weak point was obvious: the eyes. Making an attack like that would require him to get on the inside of its pinchers, and right next to its mandibles. Side-stepping a spray of acid, Lefray decided to go for it. He jumped over one pincher, and then the other. He was soaring straight for the monster's face. It's mandibles snapped at him. Lefray pushed his feet out, and stood with each foot on the inside of a mandible. His legs were stronger than the scorpion's jaws. Lefray smiled and started punching away at the monster's eyes. He was doing a lot more damage now. It wouldn't be long before...

The stinger came flying down at an impossible angle and stabbed Lefray in the back. His eyes opened wide as he saw his HP drop drastically. Worse, he was now poisoned. He needed some healing or an antidote soon or he would die.

Phoenix shook out her back, trying to get comfortable again. As the dust finally cleared up, Phoenix saw which she was most afraid to see. The stinger of the scorpion pierced into the back of her only ally. "LeeJay!" Phoenix screamed as she shot off towards her friend and enemy.
She did a spiral turn to dodge a claw. She bounced out of the way from the other claw, only by a hair. Phoenix held out her sword and let it glow orange. The stinger came down and grabbed the bottom of her skirt, ripping off the bottom part. Phoenix used this to her advantage and ran up the stinger, using her glowing sword to block the claws.
She was so close to it's face when it shot acid at her. Phoenix was too caught up with the stinger and claws to notice, it hit her in the arm, poisoning her and dropping her health gradually.
Phoenix grabbed her arm and bounced out of the way of a stinger, but was hit by a claw, throwing her off balance.

She wondered if this was the end, if maybe she wasn't strong enough to save herself or Leejay. Then she remembered her promise to Jak. "I promise to clear the level and free everyone.". She couldn't stop now.
Phoenix put her game face on then shot off. Her Sword was glowing abnormally orange. "Phoenix! Spark!" Phoenix shouted as she shot off so fast that she was just a red blur. When she was done, she had cut at the eyes several times, causing all of it's health to drop and burst into pixels.

Phoenix then ran over to Leejay and held him in her arms. "Leejay! Do you have any healing potions on you?" Asked Phoenix gently, smoothing back his hair and trying not to freak out. Phoenix's health was regenerating, but she was still poisoned. Leejay wouldn't know, but she had a crystal heart on when one heart holder is being hurt, it uses the energy from the other heart top heal her. So while they both wear the heart, they are safe, for now.

All the sudden Phoenix was holding him and smoothing his hair back. It was kinda nice.

Lefray stood up, getting out of Phoenix's arms. "I don't have any potions on me, but I'm not dead yet. The nearest town isn't that far away. We both have speed, so we might be able to get there in time." He looked at her health bar. It seemed that she had some sort of regeneration slowing her poison. Good. His own battle healing was keeping him alive for a short time.

"Let's go." Lefray started running towards the nearest town. It didn't seem likely that they would make it there in time, but he wouldn't just sit around and wait to die. If they saw an enemy a long ways off in front of them, he might be able to use his sword art to move much faster than he was right now. But what about Phoenix?

"When I tell you to, grab onto me and hold on as hard as you can. I'm going to turn myself into a human rocket. Unless you have any good ideas."

Phoenix watched him stand up with amazement. "You are a tough guy." She told him in amazement with a hint of sarcasm. "Just tell me if you need a break." Phoenix told Leejay as she sprinted off after him. She also saw the enemy in the distance and didn't know if they could handle it just yet. Maybe they should come back after they're healed.
As they were running, Leejay stopped running. He also told her to hold on to him because he was going to shoot off like a rocket. "Now, If I'm too heavy just throw me off!" Phoenix chimed with a wink.
Phoenix then jumped on Leejay's back where her legs were wrapped around his lower torso and her arms were wrapped around his chest. Phoenix giggled and put her head on his shoulder. "Onward!" She shouted with a smile

Phoenix wrapped herself around him, and Lefray put an insane smile on his face. He probably shouldn't be aggravating monsters when they were so perilously low on health, but there was no other way to get back to town in time.

His avatar had enough strength to carry Phoenix without slowing him down. "You don't weigh a thing," he said. Running at full speed, he targeted an enemy in the distance. It was a relatively a large but slow crab. Lefray held his right hand in front of him and it started to glow white. "Heart...Stopping..."

Suddenly, Lefray and Phoenix would disappear from sight. They had essentially teleported across the map to the crab's location. His fist punched into the crab. "Punch!" The crab's eyes opened wide as a stream of light came shooting out on the other side of its shell. The crab fell to the ground and shattered into pixels. Five other large crabs crawled out of the sand to avenge their fallen brother, but by then Lefray was already a long ways away.

It had worked! Lefray had used his sword art special attack to transport them both across the map. The town was much closer now. They would be there in just a few seconds...

Uh oh. There were four coconut tree enemies ahead. They each sprouted thin wooden arms and started throwing coconuts at Lefray and Phoenix. Phoenix didn't slow down. He couldn't afford to. Instead, he looked up at Phoenix. "You need to deflect them. Keep us safe."

Phoenix smiled as Leejay took off. Her hair was rushing behind her and it honestly felt good to be thrown into the wind like this.
He easily took out a crab and before Phoenix had a comment to make, they were gone again. "You're too good at this!" Phoenix told him with a bright grin. They got closer to the town, then more enemies popped up. They quickly started throwing coconuts at the two. Phoenix withdrew her sword and smirked. "These game designers had way to much time on their hands." Phoenix told Leejay sarcastically.

Suddenly, a coconut was thrown straight towards Leejay's face and right shoulder. Phoenix used her sword to deflect both coconut's easily. Then, they started to get a lot harder. It had gotten to the point that if Leejay made one wrong move Phoenix would cut him. "Be careful! There's no friendly fire here!" Pheonix warned as she deflected another coconut and sent it flying back at the monster.
In the ruckus of all the coconuts, one hit Phoenix right in the head. Taking out some HP. She rubbed her head and mumbled ow, deflecting another coconut.

Lefray would have laughed at Phoenix's quip about the game designers had the tree monsters not been trying to kill them at the moment. When they were this low on health, even something as ridiculous as a coconut could be deadly.

Phoenix was doing a great job of deflecting the tropical projectiles, as expected. Lefray panicked when he heard her get hit by one. Would that kill her? He was relieved to see that her health bar wasn't at zero...yet. She actually seemed to still have more HP than he did. Lefray frowned for a second. Did she have some extra healing item or something? It didn't matter. Even if he didn't make it to town alive, he wanted to make sure Phoenix could.

Lefray could see the umbrellas of the beach-themed town now. They were almost there.

A sand golem pulled itself out of the landscape and stood in their way. Great. Was there a single monster on this map that was ignoring them? Apparently so, because another sand golem appeared right next to the first one. Coconuts were still raining down on them. Lefray couldn't slow down. His HP bar was getting way too low.

"Hit the coconuts at those golems." He knew it was a lot to ask, but they simply didn't have time to fight the golems, or even run around them. From here on out, they were on a straight path. Lefray knew he could use his unarmed fighting skills to head-butt through a single golem, but he doubted Pheonix could hold on through that. They needed to destroy or at least stagger the golems before they reached them.

Phoenix chopped a coconut in half and sent both halves at the tree monster. "that was fun!" She said with a smile. Phoenix looked down and noticed that Leejay's health bar was getting low and that Phoenix's was just above half. "This will look stupid but to keep you alive, wear this." Phoenix told him, blocking another coconut. she took off her crystal heart necklace and put it around Leejay. his health would begin to go back up as Phoenix's would slowly decrease.

As Phoenix got back up, she saw the town, and the sand golem. She sighed inwardly. "Maybe these monsters are attracted to my new perfume?" Phoenix joked around, trying to enlighten the mood. Of course, after saying that, another golem came. Phoenix blocked a coconut and then Leejay told her to hit the golems.
Phoenix nodded and blocked every coconut and sent them each at the golem's legs. she was really getting the hang of this! "besides this, what's your plan?" She asked him, deflecting three more coconuts.

Phoenix put a necklace around Lefray's neck, saying it would keep him alive. He noticed that his healing factor increased, vastly slowing the rate of poison damage. He smiled. They were going to make it. "Thanks."

Phoenix joked that the monsters might be attracted to her perfume. Lefray wondered. This was a virtual world. There weren't any actual sensations like taste, smell, or touch, but these senses were still stimulated...

What on earth was he thinking about this for?

The coconuts Phoenix was deflecting hit one of the golems in the leg. They weren't doing a lot of damage, but they were stunning the monster with their impact. That was enough. Phoenix asked what else there was to his plan. Lefray smiled, although she wouldn't be able to see it. "Else?"

Lefray jumped into the air, jumping clear over the sand golem. The golem recovered from the coconut attack and tried to grab them. Fortunately, being made out of sand didn't make you fast. Having a bunch of levels in speed and acrobatics, however, did.

Lefray ran into the town and went right into the local shop. Only inside did he finally put Phoenix down. He looked at the NPC shopkeeper. "Give me two antidote crystals, now!" A second later, the transaction was complete. Lefray handed one of the crystals to Phoenix and used the other one to neutralize the poison in his avatar.

He only had a sliver of health left, even with Phoenix's special item. Now it was finally going back up again.

Phoenix smiled.
As they were running along, She did her part. She blocked every coconut successfully, they were going to make it!
She began to laugh as Leejay jumped into the air and over the golem. She's never had a ride like this and it was quite fun. She turned around and stuck her tongue out at the monsters, laughing. She looked at Leejay's health bar and gasped, he was about to die! But before she could actually say anything, they were in the town and in a shop.
Leejay put her down and quickly got the two an antidote crystal. He handed her one and used it quickly on himself, saving himself just in time. Phoenix did the same, but she was only at 19% of health, so it wasn't a rush.

Phoenix walked over to Leejay and smiled. "You did it! Thank you for saving my butt out there!" She told him with a smile. She quickly reach her arms around his neck and pulled off her crystal heart necklace. She placed it back on her own necklace and smiled. "but, before we do anything else, we forgot an important detail for our guild!" She told him with a cute smile. "We need a name!"

Phoenix thanked him for saving her. Well, specifically her butt. Lefray smiled. "You're welcome, but I can't take all the credit. I would have had no chance making it back on my own without you."

Phoenix put her arms up and to his sides. Lefray froze for a moment. Was she going to hug him? No. She simply grabbed her necklace off of him and returned it to her own avatar. Lefray blushed, but he blushed more when Phoenix gave him a cute smile. She told him that they needed a name for their guild.

That's right, the guild. So far, it was just the two of them, unless Phoenix had been recruiting. He put his hand on his chin, trying to think of a name. He had always been bad at this.

"How about the Desperados?" The only reasoning he had for that name was that they were so desperate to get new members that they'd take anyone.

Phoenix smiled. "At least we get along, right?" She said brightly. Phoenix began to think about a name. They needed something intimidating and strong. Something people will remember right when they say it! Something that will be more incredible then the Blood Oath guild! While Phoenix was deep in thought, Leejay gave a suggestion. "Desperados"? "We might be desperate, but I think we could do better." She told him truthfully. "Maybe something different hun." Phoenix told him, smiling. She patted him on the chest then walked outside, thinking of a name.
"Hmmm... Unity...Accord." Phoenix thought about this. she slammed her fist into her hand. "Dragon's accord!" She exclaimed proudly!
