Dazed and Confused! [Open]

The following day after her misadventures at the 'bank' yesterday, Mo was out and about the city again. She was still trying to get settled in, and had decided to explore midtown today, hoping to avoid any trouble in Downtown. Mo had changed her appearance since yesterday, just incase someone recognized her. She had taken the special precaution of making sure her hair wasn't green this time. You never know. Her biggest problem was the fact she didn't know how to read, and being that she wasn't from around here, Mo couldn't recognize anything either.

The other problem was that she didn't know WHAT to do, or where to go to fix this problem. So, she decided to ask people. They told her to find something called a, "Library." Mo was given directions, but then ran into the basic problem she had been having. She couldn't read, so she couldn't read the street names. Apparently there wasn't anyone not busy who could help her, so she wandered around hopelessly.

"Mo is lost! Help!" Mo called out helplessly to no one specifically. For someone trying not to draw attention to herself, she had a habit of doing the complete opposite of that...

Mo wasn't the only one new to this place.  Not far away from her was a white-haired teen named Michael.  He had been roaming the streets for a few days now; that is, when he wasn't flying around on a Pegasus.  That tended to attract attention though, so for the time he decided to walk around to keep a lower profile.  

Hearing Mo's cry for help he quickly turned to look at her and replied with a slightly awkward smile, "Well, you're not the only one."     He started to walk over to the girl; "I'm not exactly sure if I can help; I'm kinda new around here.  But hey, at least we'll be lost together eh? I'm Michael by the way." He held out his hand for her.

Ask and you shall receive! Was a human saying that Mo was not aware of, but would be a believer if she did know it. Mo turned around to her now new friend, who was named Michael. "Mo is Morpha! Or Mo for short," Mo said glancing down at the hand for a second. What was this gesture? "Mo hates being lost and alone! So Mo is happy to have new friend!" Mo said pulling Michael into a hug.

She didn't recognize what Michael was offering, so she simply hugged him in greeting. It should also be mentioned that she wasn't wearing a bra. Not a concept she was familiar with either. "So... where can Mo learn things about city?" Mo asked curiously after releasing Michael.

Michael nodded. Mo, that was an easy nickname to remember; certainly easier than Morphia. A bit strange though; he wondered if very many people had strange names like that.

Michael blinked surprised as he was pulled into a hug; but after the initial surprise and awkwardness, smiled and hugged back. He guessed that's just how people greet each other here; or at least she did anyway. He was also surprised that she considered him a friend this quickly; but hey, that was fine with him.

Backing up only slightly, Michael listened as Mo asked him where to learn more about the city. "That's a good question; one I would like to know the answer to as well. Perhaps there's a newspaper, or..." he paused to think. "You know, they might have a library here somewhere we could check out." Wait, did this place have libraries? Pff...that's a silly question; of COURSE the city had libraries. It HAD to have them; at least it probably did...

So Michael had no idea where anything was either? That was just Mo's luck. Atleast she met a new friend. She didn't know what a newspaper was, and even if she did, it was unlikely she would be able to read it. Her eyes brightened when he mentioned the library. "Mo was actually looking for this... library. But Mo can't find it," she said glumly.

"People say library is on Mag no lee ah ava new," Mo said stressing the pronunciation more then she needed too. Michael could read the signs though. So they were one step closer to finding it.

Michael nodded, "Really? Well it shouldn't be too hard to find." He listened carefully as she told him about where the library was. It took him only a few moments to figure out what she was saying; "Ah...Magnolia Avenue. Now then, um, where would that be?" He looked around for a moment before spotting the correct street sign. "There it is." Wait...which way on the street? Eh...better to start walking and figure it out later. Michael would then hold out his hand for her to take, not thinking she might do the same thing again. "Shall we head off that way?"

Morpha looked around for a moment, either pretending to help look for the sign or simply forgetting that she couldn't read the bloody signs. Michael found it first, obviously because he could read the signs. This time she took his hand, understanding that he wanted to lead the way. "Yes, let us," Mo smiled cheerfully.

Michael smiled and led Mo off in that direction.  They walked for quite a while, and for some time Michael started to think that they may be going the wrong way.  After a while he was relieved to arrive at the library's front doors.  "Well, this is the place." he said looking over to Mo smiling.  

When they headed in Michel would ask Mo, "So are you looking to find anything in particular here?  Or just general information about the city?"

It seemed to take awhile before they finally found it, Mo trying to memorize their route for later. She that going for her, a nice memory. Atleast she thought so, she couldn't remember a time she had forgotten something recently. And then, they arrived!

"So this is a library," Mo murmured to herself, looking up at the building. Then when the subject of what she wanted to find exactly came up, she suddenly felt embarrassed. "Oh... um... actually, Mo hasn't quite learned how to read yet. But Mo wants to!" she hastily adds the last part as if that would make up for everything.

Michael laughed softly at that; "Well, I guess everybody's gotta learn sometime. And I suppose this is a good place to learn." Then again, wouldn't a school be a better place to learn to read? Well, at any rate, a library was a good second for that. Michael thought about possibly helping her to learn, but he wasn't sure if he would be very good at teaching. Then again who else would teach her? He wasn't sure.

Michael walked into the library. He looked around but wasn't exactly sure what for.

Mo was like a child... both literally and figuratively. As soon as her and Michael walked into the library, she had quickly abandoned her previous desires to learn to read and was more content in exploring. "What's this? What are these?" Mo said going around to various things ranging from computers, bookshelves, books, DVDs, videos, CDs- pretty much everything that she didn't have a word or name for; which was almost everything. Michael would be hard pressed if he wanted to teach her how to read.

On that note, Mo noticed people looking into small square-ish shaped objects, filled with characters she couldn't understand. All she gathered from them was that they reminded her of the street names she couldn't read. She wandered from person to person randomly, eventually stopping at Victoria with her mountain books. What was this person doing with all of these blocky things with paper in them?

Michael tried to keep the girl from completely running amok but without much success as she was very hyper. Michael wasn't really good with hyper. "Hey...hold on don't touch that... No don't go messing with that either! I don't even know what that is but don't mess with it! Wait..what are you doing now? Hold on!" She really was bouncing all over the place and he had trouble keeping up. He tried keeping pace with her as she ran around; eventually ending up at the table with Victoria. he tried to be patient with her, "Look; you really shouldn't be running around like this. You're disturbing people who are trying to read."

If Michael thought Mo was distracting people now, imagine how distracting she'd be on the beach! She was simply overly-excited to be in a new place, see new things she hadn't seen, even if they were something as normal as a DVD. Mo could really draw attention to herself if she wanted to, but she wanted to avoid that... granted she kind of failed in that already.

She calmed back down when she tried to read the book Victoria was "reading" as Michael had put it, catching a word here and there, but not nearly enough to really know what was going on or what the book was about. The images didn't help or phase her either, she didn't relate to them at any rate.

Mo backed up alittle when Vic set her book down and talked to them. "Is okay. What book about?" Mo replied curiously.
