"So strange, they scream..."
Sasha Victoria Baumann
===IDENTITY===
Full Name: Sasha Victoria Baumann
Nickname(s): Tick-Tock
Codename: Clockwork
Alias(es): N/A
Age: Looks like a 17-year old 'girl'. A year since she was created.
Classification: Automaton
Affiliation: Neutral
===PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION===
Hair Color: Pink
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 5'8''
Weight: 370 lbs
Other Traits: Has a key in her back to keep winding herself up to keep the body going. Her torso is actually separated from legs, held together by forces of magnetism, and technomagic, which allows for quick and friction-less 360 degree turn. She is made of a lighter steel allow which allows for same durability but lowering the weight of the overall carcass.
===POWERS===
Powers:
- Superhuman strength: Due to her being a mechanism, aided with powers of technomagic used in her creation, Sasha can fight with strength of many men. She can lift an object weighting about 2 tons, and throw it a small distance.
- Artificial body: Due to her body being made of durable artificial components, Sasha possesses an array of abilities related to it. Such as:
- Limb-separation: Heavily revolving around the principles used in her construction, Sasha can separate parts from her body and keep them at a certain distance away from her. The most common use of this one can be seen, as he torso floats above her lower body. Those limbs can be kept at a distance of up to 5 meters away from the body, and can be used to launch unexpected strikes, with blades hidden within them.
- Durability: She is made of very sturdy materials. Normal punches, bullets, and weapons without considerable strength put behind it would make little damage to her. Also, she would be immune to most hazards that can affect a human body, such as electricity, fire (if temperature is below the temperature of steel losing hardness), poisons, the like.
- Flexible joints: Her joints are able to move in any direction possible, should the situation require so.
- Techno-magic power: Can send a surge of this mystic power upon touching a mechanism or a computer. Depending on how sophisticated and durable said device is, it can short out for a few seconds, or even break. Same energy can be used to good too, however, enabling her to repair small mechanisms by simply touching them.
Skills:
- Unarmed combat - she is a practitioner of unarmed combat, knowing and able to use a style called Krav Maga. Her robot body, in combination with it, allows her to overcome most opponents.
- Fencing - Is good at wielding a rapier and a dagger.
- Quick learner - can repeat a movement, or a motion, perfectly, after seeing it only a couple of times, as long as her bodily capabilities allow her to do so.
- Mrs. Fixit - very good at repairing broken things, should they not contain excessive electronic or cybernetic devices. Mechanical machines are her forte.
Weaknesses:
- Unimaginative - she has very hard time coming up with something new, once all the preplanned variants and courses of action have failed. Luckily, she has enough of those stored in her memory to make up for it for a while.
- Fearless - can be a weakness. Basically, it means Sasha won't dodge anything she thinks her body will be able to take. What she thinks and what's reality can differ drastically.
- Poor socialization skills - her manner of holding conversations creeps people out. She's trying, though.
- Obedience - will follow the leader's commands and orders, without hesitation, no matter how risky or dangerous the task is.
- Technomagic - an enemy who wields technomagic can destroy her rather easily. One that is created with magic, is easiest to destroy through it. Technomagic can turn her own body against her, and she would not be able to do anything about it. However, since she is an automaton, rather than a robot, she will be immune to people who manipulate electronics and computers.
- Magnets and magnetic powers- She hates them, they pull her towards them, and leave her helpless.
- Has to periodically 'Wind up', to continue functioning.
- Exorcism - Sasha's soul is tied to the mechanical construct built in a facsimile of her. It is it that keeps it working and running. Any rituals and abilities that can remove the link between the soul and the machine are dangerous to her.
Equipment:Rapier and a dagger - retractable, and very sharp, weapons, which usually hide within their respective hilts, and are carried within a chamber in Sasha's palm.
Hidden blades - each joint within Sasha's body has a retractable blade.
Needle gun - has one within each of her digits, which allows to shoot sharp, and rather heavy needles, up to distance of 50 meters.
Cog shuriken - has a storage of them, with a dispenser located at the open 'part' on her waist, where the upper body detaches. These shurikens are rather heavy, and can slice through riot shields and obstacles of the like, making them rather unusable by anyone weaker than Sasha is.
Chain-arm - her right palm can be shot on a chain in order to grab someone and drag them back. Range - up to 15 meters.
Wrist-shield - a foldable steel shield that comes out of her forearm in a form of a circle, able to cover her upper body from projectiles, or physical attacks.
===PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE===
Personality:Sasha's personality is... unsettling. While it is unheard of robots and machines to overcome the inhibitions placed on them through their creation, and develop a personality of their own, Sasha's just ... doing it wrong. Every time she says something, and does something, she seems to be trying to imitate a living being, and almost succeeding in it. Almost. And that little part which she fails to grasp is what makes her creepy. She smiles, she laughs, she frowns even, but all of those 'emotions' just seem... false.
Sasha can always be found trying to socialize with people she finds around herself, and seems to be unable to take offence at anything. She does not know the word 'betrayal', but the rest of her moral compass is fairly messed up, as she tries to navigate with it through the sea called life. She does not have most preconceptions, as well of awareness about 'taboos' and other, more complicated aspects of human society.
Lastly, her 'real nature' shows up in battle. Sasha has no preconception about killing anyone, no matter gender or age, and fights like a soul-less machine that she seems to be - ruthlessly, yet beautifully, and seems to show an odd notion of enjoying it, of using her weapons to max efficiency. She believes that whatever must be done - must be done, in the name of good, and fearlessly charges to battle, and hopefully, kill whoever needs to be killed. But her notions of good and bad are vague, and as such, she can easily be fooled, being quite gullible and susceptible to elaborate lies.
However... despite all that, there still is a part of her that does not fit into the picture of a soulless machine. Analyzing herself, and reactions of others for her, Sasha KNOWS that whatever she's doing to seem like 'a real girl', she does it wrong, and that thought unsettles her to her core. As such, she can often be found reading books which describe human emotions, like literature and psychology, or watching a soap opera, in order to understand what she is doing wrong...
Strengths:Mechanical body - need I explain?
Fearless - is not afraid to take a hit, however severe it may be, in order to protect a friend or a teammate, or to deliver a killing blow.
Obedient - you don't need to repeat her twice what to do.
Interests/Habits:Reading, watching movies, dancing, playing logical games, socializing (albeit poorly), company, video games.
===PERSONAL BACKGROUND===
Family Members: Ronald Baumann - father; Mother - unknown, deceased.
Place of Origin: Jump City
Current City: Jump City
History:Once upon a time in Jump city, there lived a man, a lonely man who had a gift of manipulating mechanisms and machinery with his mind. He owned a small apartment on the edge of the city, and was making a living by hand-making toys, which used to electricity, and yet could work without power source for many, many years, and never break. This man's name was Ronald Baumann.
And there was one happiness in his life, aside from his hobby. His wife, before passing away due to an car accident, gave birth to a daughter, named Sasha. Ronald loved her very much, and worked hard, to offer her anything her heart desired. She did not ask for much, and was always a good, and obedient daughter. She attended school, got high grades, and was a good dancer too! There are several medals on the cup-board which belong to her, for scoring on different contests. However, becoming a professional dancer was not her dream, oh no...
Hers, was to become a hero. In these dark times, those who dared fighting for good were like bright torchlights. And, at such young age, a girl can easily be infatuated with an image of a hero. And there were just such heroes. She had seen them every day on TV, saving Jump city from all sorts of villains. She dreamed one day to be able to join her idols and fight for justice, like they did. Secretly from her father, Sasha trained with a rapier and dagger, to fight, until she was ready to face her first opponents - the local gang which terrorized an old shopkeeper down the road...
But sadly... it was never meant to be. And her first act of heroism ended with a broken skull and a knife to her gut. The first aid had arrived too late, and ... frankly, there was not much to arrive to. The girl was ... well, dead.
The tragedy that befell the man was enormous. He couldn't sleep, he could not eat, he felt slowly going insane, unable to overcome his daughter's untimely departure from this world. And ... he devised a plan, a crazy plan. He fell deep... Deep into the occult. Working tirelessly in order to craft her daughter a new body, using his power of technomagic, and skills of creating mechanisms, he created 'Sasha', keeping as close to the original's image as his skill and technology allowed. And using an ancient and forbidden incantation he found in an old book, he ... well, attempted to fuse his daughter's soul, to this new, steel body.
It... did not go as planned. Not entirely as planned.
The spell had worked, or so it seemed - what was once dead and cold became ... locomotive. The puppet of steel and cogs became ... alive! But it ... was not Sasha everyone knew. It was like... some sort of a wicked simulation of her, with overall changes in personality and memory occurring, losses and prolapses of it, and what was kept, remained ... unattached emotionally. Sasha's friends she used to hang out with ran from the abomination in fear, but neither she, nor her crazed father cared. In his eyes, she would always be his beloved daughter... He taught her things, how to fight, to defend herself, and equipped her with weapons. This way, she would be able to follow her dream, of becoming a fighter for justice! And in these times, when heroes of old started vanishing from the plane of existence, the world needed new ones to stand guard.
The poor man... he just failed to notice that he created ... a slaughter machine, shaped in form of his daughter. And that he might have delivered irreversible damage to what should have departed to Heaven some time ago...
Sample RP:About a week has passed since Sasha was accepted into the ranks of Teen Titans, as an 'in-training'.
And a lot of things happened during that week. Being curious, and inquisitive self, the automaton girl made it her duty to know everyone else in the tower. She succeeded in that, one way or another. Reactions to her were different. Some, like Starfire's, were relatively friendly and benign, some others... not so much. They found the new addition to the team ... spooky, if not grim. There was just something eerie about her, something that... not fit. Sasha, of course, didn't know what.
She did manage to prove herself a few times during the week also, fighting some criminals during her nightwatch, when everyone slept. Being an automaton, she did not need any. And during those fights, first word went through the criminal world that the newest addition also was... the most ruthless. Sasha fought, with the 'no kill' rule in mind. But she was still deadly. A few thugs have been in the hospital already with severe wounds, left by her blades, sliced fingers, punctured limbs... They survived, but the scene of the automaton cleaning herself off the dried blood back at HQ was being... shaking.
She had been fighting like that anywhere, on the field, and in-training. And right now, Sasha was training, once again, in the Lobby, fighting some of the cyborg's training dummies... Those have survived a few fights... But this one was ... very unlikely.
*STAB!*
Sasha's rapier went straight through a dummy's head, the robotic body convulsing a few times, almost like a living being, before the systems went offline. Another dummy charged at the automaton, but she dashed a bit to the side, before thrusting her blade again, impaling the dummy straight through the heart. For a second, it looked like she was 'hugging' it, before dropping the lifeless body unto the floor.
She remembered that someone of the titans wished to have a talk with her, about something she didn't know. What could it be about, she wondered. She was fighting criminals, staying watch, and cleaning house... They wouldn't be mad at her for anything, would they? - Sasha has been a good girl... - she muttered to herself, cutting off the third dummy's leg at the knee joint, and severing the head with the following blow. The dummy hit the floor with a lonely 'clank'. There were no dummies left, Sasha standing among broken machines that resembled her in ways more than one.
- They come apart so easily... I hope I'll put them back together again...[/size]
