PostSubject: The Inferno who stole Christmas [Open]   The Inferno who stole Christmas [Open] Icon_minitimeMon Dec 24, 2012 4:18 pm

It was the night before Christmas and all through the city, one man thought he'd be oh so witty. To steal as much as he can, it wouldn't be pretty. Though his plans were always a disaster, at stealing stuff he was a master. Sacks clutched in his hand, Inferno set off to find the things that were in demand. A jewelry store, the first stop of the night. Late in the eve, Inferno wasn't expecting a fight. Barreling through the front and raising a clatter, cops would soon be on their way to see what was the matter.

"Ho-ho-ho," and away Inferno did go. Through the wall, that was far from all. Into the night he went with a leap and a bound until the next store he found. Checking his list and checking it twice, he smashed through the front. His fist needed no ice. Dashing through the store, with a sack on his back, stepping on glass he did abhor. Through the wall he ran like a flash, taking with him a large bounty of things and cash.

Wrecking all of this stuff he didn't care. None would stop him, none who dare. Except those pesky titans with their tower. If they got in his way, he'd show them his power! Another store did the massive brute find, crashing through a wall and paying it no mind. Another sack Inferno did fill, making sure that nothing would spill. Over his shoulder and running into the night, leaping away until he was out of sight.

There were many more places would he rob, the cops were doing a lousy job. Not even in a one horse open sleigh if Inferno had his way. One place he wouldn't stay, when would people come to play? Someone had to pay. He'd keep stealing until day. Try to stop him you may. But hard it'll be okay? It's very hard to rhyme a post all the time. I'm glad I'm not a mime. Give me a dime.

As the city scrambled to stop this grinchy glum foe, the cops were barely ready to go. Luckily, as the Titans seemed no where to be found, an aspiring hero emerged, the new kid in town. Saving those unable to defend themselves is what the lad loved the most, he would to be known, he hoped, as the Ghost!

He flew into the air, with a few rocks in his hand and confronted the villain, exclaiming, "What are you, mad!?"

"You're stealing a sense of safety, you see, that citizens, around the holidays seriously need!"

He prepared his hand to telekinetically fling, the rocks in his hand to use like a sling. The smaller the object, the quicker he'd toss, and the more lethal, he'd make the impact to this boss. Bradley breathed calmly as he awaited a response, he'd do his best to save Christmas from being lost!

Inferno did stop with a halt at the sound of a pest who was at fault. "Like I care!" Inferno did declare. "The holidays is just a big fat lie anyway to lead you astray..." Inferno paused to think for a moment. "WHY THE HELL AM I RHYMING?" Inferno exclaimed with confusion and irritation. No more of this rhyming, no one has the timing and it's a giant pain in the rear.

"But buzz off anyway shorty unless you want a car tuxedo," Inferno said dismissively as he leaped high into the air on his way to the next store. Yes, he pretty much was threatening to smash a car over Ghost's head. Super strength was amazing!

Ghost's eyes widened. This guy was tough. He was more powerful than anyone he'd ever faced, but, he was not going to float idly by while a selfish jerk was running a muck throughout the city! Bradley realized that the pebbles probably would not be the best first move, so, he levitated them into his pocket and scanned the streets. A car? No, too heavy. A scooter? Not enough...

With a confident smile, he concentrated for a moment and ripped a street light from its hold in the street. "Let's do this!" He yelled in anger, still with his head down, concealed by his hood to avoid anyone recognizing him.

The street light lifted up beside ghost. It was pretty heavy but he felt like he could handle using it as a weapon consistently. With a strong swing, the pole was hurled at Inferno, glass first, in hopes that it might shatter on impact. He would then quickly return the lamp closer to his body to defend himself from any return blows, should he retaliate.

Inferno had landed and by this time had already put the cape out of his mind, so naturally he was automatically surprised when he was suddenly hit by flying lamp post! But glass? Yeah it shattered but it was just glass. It would be more of an irritation then anything hindering as Inferno spun around in the direction it came from. "Right... two can play at that game!" Inferno challenged, dropping his loot and walking over to a lamp post. Ripping it out of the ground with one hand, he snapped it in two and effortlessly hurled both halves at Ghost. He then followed up with one step, followed by pushing both fists out to send a large stream of roaring fire from them. If he blocked the lamp post pieces, the fire was not so easy to block with a mere lamp post...

As quick as possible, Bradley's lamp was brought back to a guarded position in front of his body for some sort of defense, but the two lamp post pieces had already made their collision with his own. It pushed him backward quickly and locked him up on a brick wall. The two halves of the street poles broke through the cement and gave Ghost little wiggle room. Before he knew it, two roaring streams of fire was in his face.

The impact was powerful and painful, but strong enough to allow him to slip through the iron bars. His uniform mostly protected him from the burning but he had to throw off his mask and stomp on it to stoke out the fire. "Not bad," he began saying, choking on some soot, "I've had some time to do some training though and I have a few tricks up my sleeve..."

With a smirk, Ghost nodded towards the car closest to Inferno and closed his eyes. He sent out his specter at sonic speeds and looked into the gas tank of the car, manipulating the circuits to cause an immediate explosion, sending a pillar of fire towards the villain. "Let's see how you like fire!" he yelled, know snapped back to his body.

And Inferno was destructive? Ok, he was when he was bored... but when he gets attacked that only makes things worse! Plus this just proves that Inferno is not the only one who doesn't give a fuq about other people's property. Heroes didn't care either as long as it brought down the villain! But there was fire, which Inferno could have easily just bent away from him, but since this CLEARLY a contest of who was more of a badass, Inferno gave no fuqs and did nothing at all. Being fireproof was awesome! "I shoot fire out of my hands bro. I LOVE IT! THE HOTTER THE BETTER!" Inferno exclaimed, taking another couple of steps into two more punches that sent two more streams of fire Ghost's way.

And since cars were now involved, Inferno found a pick up truck and picked it up before hurling it high speed toward Ghost. Yup, the city was gonna need to pay for these damages big time...

The explosion did absolutely to his flaming foe. "Hm...probably should have thought of that..." he muttered, a little embarrassed but, hey, he was new! All heroes had some stupid clumsy mistake riddled fights at first...right?

He then quickly sent off two more torrents of fire and an entire car straight at Ghost without a thing phasing him. Lucky for Ghost, speed seemed to be in his favor in this fight. He bolted straight up and away from the line of fire, and went for a dive bomb fist first to the villain's face. Thanks to his advanced speed, it would only leave about two seconds for the villain to sufficiently react.

"Try this on for size!" he yelled confidently.

Batman probably didn't mess up his first time, but he's the freaking batman. But yes, Ghost had speed on Inferno but that really meant very little if Ghost couldn't even phase him. On that note, Inferno wasn't quite fast enough to avoid the next attack even if he wanted to. So, his head shot back BUT on reflex, Inferno's fist came hurling toward Ghost's stomach as he had been about to try and punch Ghost out of the air. So, Inferno got hit in the face (not a big deal) and unless Ghost suddenly poofed into thin air, Inferno's fist would collide with Ghost (and that WAS a big deal).

A moment of shock overtook Ghost as he saw that his strike actually made contact with his foe, but he was amazed that the hothead had the reflex and the amazing strength as a moment later he was faced with trying to avoid a powerful counter strike. He was able to handle a twist to avoid a straight on strike but he was hit harshly in the left shoulder, right where he'd experienced a knife wound a few days earlier.

Since he had speed on his end, the hit was magnified even more, so, although he wasn't absolutely thrown in the opposite direction, he seemed to bounce of his foe and plummet to the ground like a meteorite. He yelled a cry of agony as he writhed on the ground. He never broke a bone before, but if this wasn't what it felt like, he couldn't imagine what one would.

"Okay...that's not gonna work..." he said, wincing.

He surveyed the area quickly, trying to figure out if there was anything around that could do any damage, then he saw it. "Oh, duh!" he said, almost angry at himself, still holding his left arm.

With a strong swipe of his right arm, he used his telekinetic abilities to rip a fire hydrant from its foundation, a stream of water erupted powerfully, but it wouldn't do much like that. He made a small smile. "Let's douse that flame!"

He gathered the torrent and sent it after the molten maniac (yay alliterationz!). Hopefully he'd be able to weaken his ranged attacks and, if he could, maybe he could recover some ground and apprehend the villain yet!

Inferno had already recovered his composure, jaw only a tiny bit sore but nothing was damaged. He was also already preparing another attack. This time by simply tearing out a chunk of the pavement and was about to hurl it at Ghost when he was suddenly hit with a torrent of water. Good thinking, but Ghost would find this had the opposite effect on Inferno. Remember that fire attack Inferno was hit with? Well, that heated him up abit and as well know, water has a certain point before it evaporates.

Long story short, Ghost just helped Inferno out... and pushed him back alittle before he dug in with his feet. Steam hissed from Inferno from the torrent of water as he hurled the chunk pf pavement at Ghost. "You think alittle water is gonna stop me?" Inferno said spitting out a mouthful of water, suddenly ducking low in a kind of sweep as he emitted fire from his foot, releasing a low flying wave of fire UNDER the stream of water before he shot up into the air. Righting himself with a back flip, Inferno spun his body to build up some momentum as he fell down toward Ghost from above using his elbow. "Try this on for size!" Inferno challenged, his elbow brimming with KINETIC energy that would be released in a shockwave on impact.

Ghost froze, shocked that the hydrant didn't do anything to his foe. In fact, he seemed to enjoy it! Everyone was supposed to have a weakness...didn't they? Soon, Inferno was on his way to make another strike, and Ghost was in too much pain to make too many fancy maneuvers, so he decided to really see where his powers' limits laid.

A wave of fire tried finding its way to Bradley under the stream of water quickly, so, he quickly lowered his own stream to douse it quickly, but immediately after, Inferno emerged, flying up in the air and spinning to build up momentum before charging at Bradley with amazing force, elbow first. Bradley thought quickly and tore the metallic hood of the car he'd destroyed earlier off its foundation and flung it between the two metahumans for a shield. He bite his lip and used as much of his telekinesis to push back, reinforcing it in the opposite direction.

Inferno's elbow began creating a huge dent, but Ghost kept concentrating as hard as he could on keeping it in tact. "The best offense is a good defense!" he yelled with one hand raised, helping him concentrate on where his powers were heading, small beads of sweat collecting on his forehead.

And then the car hood exploded. Well, maybe not exploded, but that kinetic energy that was surging through Inferno's elbow still got released and if it didn't downright send the car hood flying into Ghost, it may have just smacked Ghost's hand. In either case, it also pushed Inferno back up alittle. Using the space, Inferno latched onto part of the hood with one hand and used his falling momentum to swing himself. Sending him flying at Ghost as he spread his legs.

Why did he do this? Well, do you know what a teebag is? "Got a package for you!" Inferno taunted as he flew at Ghost.

((OOC: Ghost was better off NOT cooling Inferno off with that water xD))

(OOC: It would seem so...:-/)

After a moment, the car hood couldn't withstand the sheer force anymore and gave way, pushing Ghost's hand back and causing him to slide back and down to one knee. As he was down, Inferno swooped down and did what Ghost only knew about from playing Halo online. This ticked him off.

"That does it!"

As he approached, Ghost dug deep and took all of the energy of the area to take hold of Inferno's actual body and use his telekinesis to actually sway his course midair! He kicked open a nearby manhole and swayed Inferno's course so that he would land in the sewers.
