Christmas Kiss [Open]

Melissa decided to visit the movie theaters, since she heard of a romance film was out. Melissa wasn't a huge on romance but she just love the way people confessed to each other. She dreams hopefully someone would do the same for her. She just imagined someone kissing her and she felt hot. It was Christmas and she could see couples all around her. This made her feel silly.

It was obviously a night for couples, why did she decide to come now? She didn't have a date or anything. The cold air breezes past her as she redid her light green scarf. She saw a couple get really close and kiss, it was passionate from where Melissa saw. She smiled at their bond. Looking around her once again, she sighed. She was lonely, she had made some friends, but she had no way of contacting them. She didn't have a phone and she forgot to arrange a night out. Checking her time, she decided to at least get out of the cold and into the theaters where it was warm and filled with a butter popcorn scent.

Another figure was also roaming about the movie theater, though he was also alone.  He seemed to be looking over the various movie titles.  He wasn't sure if he'd watch any but it was interesting to see what kind of movies people made around here.  Then again he couldn't really judge them by their cover; he'd probably end up watching several.  Maybe one today, maybe not.  He hadn't decided yet.  

The figure known as Kardus visibly stood out in the crowd due to his appearance.  With pitch black skin and bright, neon cyan hair, he wasn't hard to miss.  It was also hard for Kardus to miss the number of couples going in to see a romantic/Christmas comedy.  It was playing soon and there seemed to be a lot of couples around lately, maybe something to do with the holiday.  He stared at the poster for the movie, and spoke seemingly to no-one in particular, "Well it wouldn't exactly be the same kind of experience, would it?"  He stared a moment longer, considering watching it.

Melissa overheard someone saying it wasn't the same experience. She looked towards the voice and was a bit confused. "I'm sorry...what?" The voice belonged to a boy, but Melissa was a bit surprised. She didn't know the boy but something told her that he came alone.

She heard people whisper, "Hey, look at those two. Their hair is a bit unique don't you think?" Melissa wanted to immediately deny this, but she did find it attractive. His cyan hair kept Melissa's eyes on them for a while. It wasn't before she just was staring at the boy.

Kristen wandered around the lobby of the crowded movie theatre, fidgeting with the movie voucher that a random guy decided to give to her after stalkerishly watching her do her demon patrols the night before.


"Whoa, so you're the metahuman getting rid of all of these ghosties, huh?" the guy asked.

"I'm not a metahuman, and these aren't ghosts they're-"

"Anywho, I'm sure all that hard work must leave you exhausted, so why don't you enjoy this movie ticket to the new romance movie in theatres and take a night off, yeah?"


Mundies.
Kristen flipped over the ticket to see a post it note with the guy's number on the back. So he was trying to flirt with her. Not that she was interested, anyway; she had no time for boys or relationships. She tossed the number into a nearby trash bin. All the same, she would try to enjoy this movie. She never liked romance movies, but they were somewhat amusing. At the very least it would get her mind off of reality for a while.

She glanced over to the poster of the romance movie and noticed a charcoal skinned, cyanette boy gazing intently at it. More inspection and a gaze shift to the right would reveal a familiar greenette with goggles staring in the same fashion at the cyannette. Kristen grinned, amused at Melissa's behaviour and sauntered over to her, "Hey, Earth to Melissa! Hello?" she said trying to get her attention, grinning.

Kardus looked over at the girl who responded to him, though he spoke seeming to himself. That tended to happen often. "Hmm? Ah; I had meant that watching a romantic movie alone wouldn't be the same as watching it with a loved one." He noticed someone comment on their hair but pretended not to, instead just looking at the girl for a bit as she seemed to stare back at him. He soon took notice someone attempting to get the girl's attention and turned his eyes to her. "Someone's trying to get your attention." he said simply. He took a moment to examine the newly arrived teen, noticing the strength and nature of her soul. She was an interesting one.

Melissa jumped when she heard another voice calling out her name. Seeing the cyan haired tilt his head towards a direction, she turned. Instantly she smiled and said, "Hey Kristen! How are you?"

She turned back towards the boy and replied, "I suppose that is true. Hey! Why don't the three of us watch it together!" She proposed them the idea of watching a romance movie. It was then looking at Kristen, a friend she met recently, that she suddenly felt a jolt of emotions.

Little did she know that a mistletoe dropped down from the walls, where they were used as decoration, grew a head, arms and legs. It latched itself onto Melissa. Melissa mind was getting foggy and her thought process slowly became into a simple command. Kiss. She approached Kristen with a more lustful smile and hugged her while embracing Kristen. It wasn't just Melissa it seems like there were others affected by this mistletoe phenomenon. Melissa, under control of the mistletoe, said, "I love you."

Kardus watched, and it seemed the green haired girl moved to embrace her fri- wait...what was that on the back of her head. That wasn't hair. Before Kardus had time to move closer and examine it, a second latched on to him. He blinked, reaching up to pull it off and look at it. "....?" As the mutant mistletoe squirmed in his grip, Kardus examined it and took a good scan of it's structure and biology. Looking up he could see several of them causing people to kiss each other irresistibly. "Interesting..." Taking hold of one of the creature's arms, Kardus bit it off and started eating it as he approached Melissa. He grabbed at the mistletoe in her hair and pulled it off of her.

Kristen froze up as Melissa hugged her, slightly confused as to what brought on the sudden attraction towards her, a friend she had only met recently. It wasn't until Kardus approached Melissa and pulled something off of her hair that Kristen realized the actions on Melissa's part were not of her own free will and she was able to squirm out of her grasp as the mistletoe creature was removed from Melissa's hair.

Melissa's head was conflicted caused a massive headache. When she regained her awareness she was really close to Kristen and backed off a bit. She looked around and saw people kissing. "What's going on? Was...I...Kristen?" Her surprise made her flustered and looking at the boy holding a mistletoe but it looked like it was moving. "Wh-what is that?" she pointed at the squirming mistletoe.

Kardus examined the other mistletoe, seeing it was pretty similar to the other.  "Hard to hold onto, I'd say.  Want to hold it?"  He held the creature out to Kristen.  "This, I'd say, is some kind of plant that I will assume caused you to loose control of yourself for a moment; considering you seemed phased as soon as it was removed. Every other person I can see here that has one on them seems to be in the mood for some romance as well." The man looked over at a boy making out with his girlfriend a little more than she was comfortable with; and you guessed it, he had a plant on his head. "Take that as an example..."

If someone took the plant Kardus was offering, he would let her have it and move to remove the boy's hindrance, ripping the head off of any he had left with him and dropping them to keep his hands empty. He intended to kill all but two of the parasites.

Kristen blinked at Melissa for a moment, recovering from the whole event. She shook her head in dismissal, "It wasn't your fault, don't worry about it." she assured her.

Kristen then took the beheaded mistletoe monster from Kardus and examined it closely. This obviously wasn't anything supernatural, that was for certain; it appeared to be mainly scientific. All the same, it was creating some very awkward situations for them and the people around them in the theatre. Suddenly, another mutated mistletoe dropped onto Kristen's head, fighting for control of her conscience.
"Agh... what the hell..." Kristen muttered as a wave of disembodied emotions washed over her, dropping to one knee. With angel blood and a stubborn personality, Kristen was giving the parasite difficulty with it taking over her thoughts, but the struggle was enough to incapacitate her for a few moments. "Get this thing... off of me..."

Melissa stepped backed and secretly put an Arc barrier behind her head. Putting her goggles on she shook her head and said, "Let's stop these creatures from doing anymore harm!"

She moved towards one of them controlled and ripped it off. It squirmed in her hand and attempted to latch onto her. It did slip out and go behind her but the Arc Barrier managed to stop it. Sje stomped on it crushing it like a bug.

Kardus kept looking around and kept track of how many of the plants were still around. He made his way around the theater, hunting down and kill them one after another. When it looked like they were about gone Kardus took the last two living ones and held them tightly. "I'll be right back." he said, taking them in one hand to the men's restroom. About two minutes later he would come back, both plants gone. "Anyone have an idea where those came from?"

Kardus disappeared into the men's washroom with the two plants for a moment, and when Kristen was sure Melissa or any of the otherwise preoccupied citizens were looking, she thrust out her arm, using her telekinesis to rapidly hurl a 2L bottle of pop from across the room and strike the mistletoe plant on her head. This dazed it enough for her to regain enough control to rip the parasite from her head and throw it to the ground, crushing it underfoot.

Kardus reappeared from the bathroom, now without the dispatched parasites. Kristen recovered from the mistletoe's invasion in time to hear him ask if anyone had a clue as to where the plants came from.
"I have no idea." Kristen shook her head, getting up, "Maybe a mischievous metahuman planted these mutants here for their own enjoyment? I'm just ballparking." she shrugged.

Melissa came back with her goggles on and her Arc Barrier now visible beyond her green hair. However, she didn't notice it was visible. Overhearing what Kristen said, and she responded, "Maybe it was radioactive eggnog! " She joked and smiled at them.

Melissa fitting her goggles back on top of her head, thought who could be responsible for this. However, her head still hurt from the mistletoe. "When I was supposedly under control, I remember seeing a man's face telling me to obey. However, it's too fuzzy for me to remember."
