The Sweet Escape (Mike) Empty
PostSubject: The Sweet Escape (Mike)   The Sweet Escape (Mike) Icon_minitimeWed Nov 28, 2012 5:28 pm

A relatively miserable day in Gotham City, the weather wasn't at all great, as Gotham had gone through a bad spell weather wise lately. Dark clouds covered the sky above, creating a veil of darkness over the city. Rain fell down from the heavens above, crashing down on the floor. Residents continued to go about their business as usual, busy with the trials and tribulations an everyday Joe may face. But the interest comes from close to Gotham Bay, as one prisoner in particular was being moved from Blackgate Penitentiary to Arkham Asylum; a very difficult transfer to get processed.

Just leaving Blackgate Penitentiary was the convoy entrusted in making sure the prisoner gets to the new ‘home’. It consisted of a truck, where the prisoner was held in the back, guarded by an armed officer. The driver was wearing bullet proof Armour, just in case… In front and behind were two normal police cars; consisting of two armed policemen with one of them driving. They were slowly making their way towards Arkham Asylum, though it seemed as though they would need to take somewhat of a different route, due to the traffic.

Inside appeared to be a female prisoner, red medium(ish) hair, rather pale skin. She had her arms cuffed around the wrists, and her feet cuffed around the ankles. She was being held behind a reinforced cage type thing in the Prisoner truck. The officer in the back was pacing back and forth, strolling past all of the prisoners that were being transported. The trip seemed to be going smoothly, though. Being that it was Gotham, trouble wasn't far away.

Gotham City...ah, its like you can smell the history in the air. And for Mike, it was a History with both its good and bad, for example, laying waste to City Hall, good. Being thrown off a building and landing on a taxi, bad. The list would go on, but Mike had other things to do, such as...unload a van...see, between you and me, Mike loves dress up-

Mike || The Mouth || Stokes
Heard that.

...anyway, Mike was dressed in a blue overall, as he unloaded packages from the transit van. Onto the side of the road behind him, it looked rather innocent, having placed himself outside a marketing company building. It looked like a mere man trying to make his wage delivering items. But we all know there's much more to it. A reason for these events occurring. And that reason was on the horizon travelling around 40 mph on route to Arkham Asylum. And was now in Mike's view.

Mike dropped the current box he held where he stood, making his way around to the driver door of the van, he got himself in, turning on the engine as he set into gear and hit his foot on the pedal. reversing with a jolt, as it ran over the boxes, with only seemed to contain Styrofoam, whisping away with the wind along the street as they escaped the cardboard containers.

The van's tires screamed along the tarmac of the road as it halted once meeting the middle of the road. The driver door opened once again, Stuck in the Middle With You by Stealers Wheels played out of the stereo speakers inside the van, the volume at it's highest, the speakers filled the street with the song as Mike jogged back around to the back, with an almighty pull, swung the doors of the van back open once more, reaching in, Mike swatted the empty boxes aside, revealing the RPG hidden therebetween the boxes. Preloaded with the bulb like rocket head poking out of the barrel, Mike slugged it over his shoulder, walking out a few steps, Mike then dropped to one knee. Flicking up the sight on the Launcher.

Front Squad Car || Unfortunate Extra || Driver
What in the hell is that?

Stated the Driver, as a puff of smoke was seen from the distance, a glowing like orb making it's way towards them. The Driver's eyes widened, screeching his tires with the break. Unfortunately, if the squad car didn't meet the bumper of the prison truck, they would've probably escaped the Rocket, which ploughed into the car before shooting a plume of flames in the air with an explosion, the cop car was now pinned underneath the prison van, not helping the driver of the truck, as the initial explosion caused the truck to shake violently by the force it both hit and consumed the squad car with. As Mike took a few steps back, picking up the second of three rockets. Loading the Launcher once more, but lets see whats happening inside shall we?

The driver of the police truck managed to catch the explosion of the squad car behind. In fact he was so caught up by that, that the truck did swerve about a bit before it steadied up. Whoever it was deciding to ambush them was looking for another attack, something that every Police car who may of seen the first strike, wants to avoid. He would pull his radio off the dashboard, driving one hand as he radioed the other car.

"Squad Car 2 down! A Man in overalls, wielding an RPG launcher took them out, he's loading up. Be weary, try to avoid, or even subdue. Over"

In the back of the truck, they had all felt the rumble of the truck drivers poor driving skills. The prisoners let out a few cheers as they heard the explosion, but were quickly hushed by the guard on duty. The pale skinned red hair girl hadn't said a thing. She wore a smile across her face as she listened in to the guard getting a radio call from the driver. Panic had set in, and the truck now sped up. They were about halfway to Arkham, and possibly had a silent guardian over looking them. Well they hoped at least, the most likely case for this madman with the launcher being stopped.

Mike slid the second rocket into the Launcher, allowing it to catch in the grooves of the barrel. Mike took a short moment to examine the Launcher. Spinning it around as he examined the circular weapon, before setting it back up on his shoulder. Mike aimed once more, as the second rocket flew off into the distance. But with the greatly focused reaction times of the driver. The truck made a swerve, as the rocket hit the road surface, heaving up a huge chunk of concrete with the blast, the combination of black fumes, sutt and stone met the squad car behind, who made a sharp brake to avoid crashing in the near impossible to see cloud the explosion made.

He missed...he missed? The truck flew by without a second thought as Mike watched it go, a few meters down the road, before Mike took the launcher from his shoulder, heading back to the van. As the squad car's driver jumped out of the car, as his partner sat in pain. Having caught some effect to the blast.

GCPD Officer
Freeze! Drop your weapon and get down on the grou-

The officer was cut off as he had to take cover behind his door. As Mike whipped out one of his handguns, firing round after round at the officer, not looking at him, but Mike wasn't attempting to hurt him only stop him from making any itchy finger pulls on that trigger. Blind firing the clip into the car, Mike gathered the time to get back in the van, setting it into gear. The van's tires screeched once again. The van taking off in chase of the police truck. And it picked up some distance too being as common of a vehicle as it was, as he drove, Mike wound down the passenger side window, placing the RPG onto the frame the window lowered out of for aim, Mike began to pick his point for firing the RPG once more. But he also seemed to be enjoying the song.

Mike || The Mouth || Stokes
And your friends, they all come crawlin'! Slap you on the back and say! PLEA-EA-EA-EA-EA-EASE... PLEA-EA-EA-EA-EA-EA-EASE...

Mike sang his heart out. What a great singer! But enough of that, with the back of the trucck in line with the RPG's position, Mike fired the rocket again, this time lower to the floor to avoid hitting the truck head on, after all. His cargo was contained in there, wouldn't want damaged goods.

The truck driver had caught the antics in the rear view mirror, and saw the rocket Mike had fired at the truck. In a panic, he tried to swerve to avoid it. The rocket hit the ground just as the truck was getting out of the way, as a result; the truck flipped over onto its side, sliding across the ground, sparking as the steel screeched across the ground. It crashed off the side of the road, finally coming to an immediate stop. Oddly enough the prisoners were... relatively fine, having been held in one place by the cuffs. Te guard had taken a nasty blow, crawling to go open the door and escape. The driver was making his way out of the truck, crawling prone across the floor to escape the wreckage.

As the guard crawled out of the no tipped truck, he met the feet of Mike. Who made his way to the truck, ready to pry open the back door when it was made easier for him. Mike crouched down, a wide grin on his face as he patted the guard on the helmet.

Mike || The Mouth || Stokes
Hey-hey-HEY Buddy! Didn't even have to knock, how sweet of you.

Said Mike, as the guard attempted to push himself up, but instead Mike drove his head back into the ground. Clutching the helmet and forcing the Guard to headbutt the floor. The guard's body loosened up and stopped struggling. Sound asleep, Mike pushed himself back up, dusting off the jacket he was wearing. Mike readied his second handgun, heading around the truck, the driver had got on his walkie, but Mike quickly dispatched him of it, a bullet through the the device and the driver's hand, who shrieked in pain, falling to the floor, he let go of the broken walkie. Mike didn't want more attention than he had already, he could already hear the sirens in the distance.

The clanking of his boots meeting metal was heard as Mike stepped into the truck, walking on it's thick steel plate side wall. The footsteps echoed a metallic like effect through the truck. A bunch of...passengers shall we say, as Mike walked through, sure enough he found the one he was looking for, walking by the confined red haired beauty. Mike gave her a nod and tip of the hat....if he was wearing a hat.

Mike || The Mouth || Stokes
Bonjour Madame.

Said Mike charmingly, walking on...it was kinda odd walking past people who were stood horizontally to you. As Mike reached the end of the compartment on the truck, Mike crouched down once more, as a panel revealed a number of switches to the shackles, Mike attempted to read what each switch was linked to, but in the end he focused on the master control. A much more out of place button, probably to make sure nimrods employed to escort them didn't press it accidently. As he did, the shackles released on the prisoners...some were in for a rough landing.

Unfortunately for the red head, she had been one of the prisoners to fall from the shackles, onto the steel side wall of the truck. She wasn't the only prisoner though, quite a few rather fierce looking brutes, not the smartest bunch, from the looks of things. The girl was quick to get to her feet, brushing down her clothes before glancing about the place. She was quite lucky all things considered, I guess those shackles were really for their own protection, literally. Though honestly, she felt as though this guy had had all the fun, leaving little to none for her. She approached him, confident in her stride, and would grab one of his handguns. She gave it a glance over, before breaking her silence.

Mike || The Mouth || Stokes
But ofcourse.

Said Mike, having the lady have her hands around his hip, she could do that anytime. The brutes picking themselves up and licking the wounds they received from the landing. Mike passed by them, creating a path that Savannah could follow.

Mike || The Mouth || Stokes
Gentlemen, the van departs in 10 seconds, you have 5.

And as Mike said it, the men looked at each other with confusion, before trailing the Mike with the Mouth, after all. What choice did they have? Head off on foot? They weren't exactly dressed to perfection. They'd easily be caught and rounded back up, no they had to join Mike and his form of getaway, even if they didn't like the idea.

As for Mike, he took himself back to the driver seat, sitting in with a relieving sigh, he took off the blue cap he was wearing, allowing his hair to flow free. His right hand brushed through the hair a few times, it felt almost like silk being untouched for so many hours. The hand then wiped downwards, running across Mike's face, making sure to make a circular curve around his mustache with his index finger and thumb. It felt good with all the air to his head. Wiping the driver door that had caught splitter splatter of raindrops since it was opened. The engine rustling under the hood and ready to go. All we needed now was the passengers. Especially Red Head.

Savannah had made her way out of the overturned truck, following the stampede of prisoners before her. Outside, in the real world, again. It felt good, it brought a smile to her face as she was able to breathe in the fresh Gotham air, a luxury you miss when stuffed in a van with rather big, sweaty prisoners. A glance to one side, she had seen that guard from before, crawling away from the scene. Savannah decided that she would approach him, grabbing him from behind to push him over onto his back. Fear was written all over his face, looking up from the ground as the figure of Savannah stood over him. She had the handgun in hand, pointed towards the guard who was too scared to even plea for his life. A smirk, she checked out the gun once more before focusing her attention on him. A warm smile, she uttered a few more words.

"I've never been one for soppy goodbyes, but..."

Boom. She shot him, a bullet straight through the brain, instant kill, +100 on Call of Duty. He was now a lifeless corpse laid out on the side of the road. Only a few hours he was feeling comfortable, happy, carrying out his job with ease. But now, he's dead. Another nameless peon of an NPC in this cruel world we call RPing Land. Savannah would walk over to the truck now, opening the passenger side door. She got in, sitting down in a rush as the man who freed her and the others, seemed eager to take off. She threw the gun on the dashboard, leaning back in the chair. A deep breath followed by a sigh of relief as she closed her eyes for a few moments, gathering her composure. Who knows what may of happened if she made it to Arkham? People say it is a tough place to break out of, with Batman and all. Luckily that Knight wasn't around for this little stunt. Opening her eyes again, she looked over to the mystery Prisoner Robin Hood.

"...thanks?"

Savannah was in the van, the vehicle headed forwards, causing the remaining thugs to make a quick leap into the back of the van, closing the doors up tight behind them, and Mike had his foot down on the pedal. As Savannah was silent the stereo switched over to Lookin' Out My Backdoor by Creedence Clearwater Revival had hit both the speakers and Mike's heart. A small smile emerging from his face as the song played, Mike began to slam his hand on the roof above him to the steady drum beat on the song, the banging stopped when Savannah said something. Thanks.

Mike || The Mouth || Stokes
Huh? Oh, I wouldn't be thanking me just yet. We got about a two hour drive with no toilet breaks. Although I did drink that lucozade...

Said Mike, thinking it over in his head...nah he'll wait for a urinal or toilet. The van itself began to head out of the blocked route made by the convoy, and heading towards the bridge out of Gotham and to the countryside, heading for the glorious Steel City. As Mike pulled up at a line of traffic, he began to strip. No not everything but, the overalls, revealing underneath a white sleeveless t shirt and a pair of jeans. The overalls were tossed into the back, there, much more comfortable. As Mike moved forward in the line of traffic, looking as conspicuous as can be. Mike's head turned to the woman, for a moment

Mike || The Mouth || Stokes
Mike Stokes. And unless I got the date totally wrong on Transfers to Arkham, Savannah?

"Correct"

Savannah had said, sat back in the seat as she looked out the window at the traffic passing by. All of them clueless as to just who was driving past them at an above average speed. This, Mike Stokes, he seemed to be fairly bright, clued in to the happenings of Gotham; well, it's law and order at least. Savannah would brush a strand of hair back, turning back round towards Mike. Nobody just blows up two police cars and turns over a truck carrying prisoners for no good reason. He must want something.

"Strange for someone to be so clued in as to the happenings of one little Arkham transfer... I'm guessing, you want something. Well, I don't kill for free... unless I have a good reason. Like that guy, trying to undress me with his eyes for that entire trip. I'd say he got what he deserved, don't you think?"

That is Savannah's own brand of justice; cruel but fair, really. She was never one to dwell on the consequences of a persons death, to her they are just a nameless target, one that potentially can make her a bit of money if terminated. Though there was little time to converse, as the blaring sound of a police car behind gradually got louder and louder, until able to be seen in the rear view mirror. Guess they weren't as safe as they had thought, damn registration plates and the increase of security on the streets these days. Still, this could potentially be quite fun.

The blaring of sirens in the background, the red and blue shades of light spinning on the back of the van, yep, seemed GCPD have buckled up on their IQ when it comes to stuff like this, as Mike spun the wheel to a hard left, knocking the edge of the car in front as pedal to the metal ensued, the van went off down the opposite side of the road, followed closely by Gotham's finest. Mike focused solely on driving instead of trying to shoot off the cops behind. Mainly cause he was still conversing with Savannah.

Mike || The Mouth || Stokes
Payment was an essential part in convincing you, although the actual breakout was due first, you know, for obvious reasons.

"Right..."

As the van sped off down the road, the Police behind were gaining as every second passed by. From the dashboard, Savannah grabbed the hand gun. She wound the window down, and leaned outside, looking back at the Police Cars chasing. She fired a single shot which zipped through the air towards one of the police cars; piercing through the tyre, that car was sent strafing to the right, knocking into another police car, both being forced off the road. Two more emerged in the distance, and Savannah decided to settle down in the vehicle again, putting the hand gun down.

Your turn? Almost making the act of shooting at police a game...Mike can live with that. As Mike took his handgun now, aiming out the window, Mike let off a couple of bullets, but was quickly sent back into his seat to avoid the spray of a sub machine gun one of the cars behind was carrying, they certainly weren't fooling around, as Mike pouted slightly, a frown on his face of the frustration, they weren't getting off that easy. As Mike gritted his teeth, making a sharp exhale before slamming his foot on the brake, the van screeched in mid road, as the squad car behind had no time to escape the large frame of the back of the van plowing into the windscreen of their car, after a few short moments of the siren's wailing dying out, the van's wheels began to turn once more, managing to catch on to the bonnet of the car. The van pushed itself off the front of the squad car, whilst the second car had sped past a few seconds back, giving Mike one clear shot at the back tire, making the car swerve into the van's path, as the van merely ploughed into the rear side of the car, sending the squad car spinning on it's wheels to the side of the road, a street lamp acting as it's barrier. The van once again picked up sped, whilst the thugs in the back were once again picking themselves up after being sprawled across the back with the impact the vehicle had made with the car. A sharp turn into Cobble Hill, and the bridge out of here came into view, the bridge which loomed over the East River was the choice of exit for Mike. Plus the closest on route to Steel. Although no doubt they'll be trouble afoot.

Well, that was certainly a bumpy ride. Plans disappear, dreams takeover. Savannah would poke her head out of the window, glancing back at the carnage created thanks to Mike Stokes. In the distance she could see the cop sat in his damaged police car, reaching for his radio; obviously trying to call for back up, or to warn of officers. Savannah sat back in her seat, grabbing the hand gun once again. She leant out the window and fired a single shot. The police officer had no idea what was coming, as within a few seconds the bullet had smashed its way through the remaining windscreen, and pierced through the hand of the officer who leant back in his seat, swearing out loud as he withered in pain. Savannah sat back in her seat now, putting the gun down on the dashboard. A sigh of relief, and she turned to look at Mike again.
