Primarch Joshua Lions sat on the rooftop of an apartment. He was wearing his traditional Space Marine out fit, but this time it had a jet pack looking thing on it. It wasn't exactly a jet pack, it was a jump pack. Space marines wanted to have a way to go through battle quickly and without being exposed in the sky. They were commonly used for ambush. He had his bolter pistol in his right hand, checking to see if it was alright. He pointed his pistol towards a fly and fired. There was no trace of the fly. He stood up, picking his chainsaw blade up that he set on his legs. With his pistol in his right and chainsaw blade in his left, he walked to the edge of the building. He crouched down and his jump pack ignited. The pack launched him from one building, to an alley way. He didn't plan on that.

He landed on someone, hearing a loud scream. He looked down and saw a mugger, holding a knife in one hand. He looked around and saw he was in the middle of a gangs hang out. Guns pointed at him as he stepped off of the human, the man yelling over the immense weight of the Astartes. He stood over them all, looking around as some of them closed in for a better shot. "You don't want to do that." Joshua said through his helmet.

Suddenly they open fired on Joshua. The bullets ricocheted off his armor, some hitting the muggers, others just hitting the wall. This had happened before, some police officers thought he was an alien invader and tried to kill him. When they were done he grinned and said. "My turn." He changed the switch on his gun and open fired on them. A green paint hit them instead of bolter rounds. This paint gave off a powerfull fume that could knock out a human in seconds.

He stood in the center of the muggers hide out, all of them knocked out by the fumes. He took his helmet off when the short lived fumes left. His long hair flowed out of his helmet. He had a handsome face but his expression looked dull. He breathed in and sighed, wishing that such humans wouldn't be so stupid. He heard something in the end of the alley way and quickly pointed his pistol at the noise.

Shadow was flying around, looking for any trouble, when she heard a scream. It was coming from a notorious gang's meeting place. She glanced down, speeding towards the noise, and saw a very strange scene before her.

The gang were all pointing their weapons at a... thing... which had somehow landed in the middle of their group. They began to shoot, but the creature must have been wearing some armour. The bullets all bounced off it, damaging the alleyway. Shadow was about to step in and put a stop to the fight when the alien pulled out an advanced-looking pistol and fired what appeared to be paint, emitting a foul-smelling gas. It knocked all the muggers unconscious. Shadow quickly covered her nose and held her breath while the fumes dispersed. The creature removed its helmet, and the dark observer saw long hair and a disappointed expression. It was time to have a talk, she decided.

'Excuse me.' Shadow tried the polite approach, and sighed when the gun was immediately pointed at her. 'Please don't shoot. I'm not looking for a fight, I just want to talk,' she assured him, walking slowly forward. She kept her wings outstretched, showing the alien she wasn't normal. 'First of all, I'll have to thank you for not injuring those gang members. They are criminals, but they still have lives, and if you'd killed them I wouldn't have been able to give you the benefit of the doubt. Anyway, let me introduce myself. My name is Shadow. May I ask your name, and where you come from?' She prayed he would take the hint and stay peaceful. Shadow hated fighting when it was unnecessary. So many people would just shoot first and ask questions later. She wasn't so presumptuous as to think she could beat the thing in front of her anyway. She had no idea what he could do.

Joshua looked at the woman, his eyebrow raised. He had seen creatures whom had wings. Usually they would be attacking him right at this moment, trying to claw out his eyes and eat his body. He lowered his pistol and listened to her. "I do not kill humans. Especially low lifes." He said, stabing his chainsaw blade into the ground. The blade was taller then the woman. He was given that blade as a gift for joining the Emperor of man's crusade. He holstered his pistol and held his hand out. "My name is Primarch Joshua Lions of the Brotherhood of Steel. I come from a planet named Fallout." He smiled warmly at her. A welcomed smile showing that he didn't mean any harm, even though he looked like he could. He remembered what his adopted father taught him when he was young. "Be nice to others and they will be nice to you." His father said to him, one thousand nine hundred and three years ago.

Shadow sighed to herself, relieved she didn't have to fight a possible ally. She was never one for alienating people on purpose, especially when they could be of use to her. She saw the new arrival look her up and down, as expected. Her wings didn't seem to bother him. That was new.

The guy's manner of speaking was kind of stiff as he replied to her thanks. 'That's good to know,' she said, secretly concurring with the 'lowlifes' statement. She was meant to protect the citizens from evil, but sometimes it felt like she was protecting them from themselves.

Shadow was brought back to earth by the sound of blade tearing through the ground. She noticed the weapon, taller than she was, and the creature stowed away his gun as well. A good start.

"My name is Primarch Joshua Lions of the Brotherhood of Steel. I come from a planet named Fallout." The answer was civil enough.

'Nice to meet you, uh... Joshua. I can't say I've heard of Fallout, or the Brotherhood of Steel, but I'm a little behind the times. Anyway, welcome to Earth... I guess.' Shadow wasn't one for socialising, or talking at all to be honest, and her welcome was a little awkward. However, Joshua didn't seem to care, and gave her a reassuring smile.

"Thank you." He said, smiling a bit at the kindness. Not many people would show him that. They would either stare at him or shy away when he walks towards them. He didn't notice how awkward the welcome was. He wasn't much of a social person either.

"Good, the planet is a wasteland. And you are not behind of times. The planet is no where near this solar system." He added, sadness in his tone. He did miss his planet and wanted ot go back to it, but he was stuck here. And while his brothers are threatening his way of life and his father, the Emperor of Man, it would be lucky that his planet was even destroyed yet.

He put his hand away after she welcomed him. He placed his helmet on the handle of the blade and said. "You are truly kind of heart if you would rather imprison these fiends then kill them." He remembered his visit to Terra, his father's world. He saw one man trying to rob a store. The gaurdsmen open fired on the man. It was not a grand sight.

'You're welcome.' Shadow knew how discouraging it was to be judged on your differences. Having wings wasn't exactly flavour of the month.

Joshua's sad reply didn't really affect her, but even if she wasn't devastated didn't mean she would neglect to offer her help. 'You don't seem too happy about it. I'm not going to boast and say I'm sure I can help, but anything I can do, I'd be happy to,' she said.

His next comment was flattering, but Shadow wasn't interested in pleasantries. It surprised her that he would say that. 'Thank you, but on our planet, killing people for committing a crime is a crime itself. Maybe it's different where you come from.' She figured he was still getting used to the new surroundings, and helping him along couldn't hurt.

"I'm glad it's different here." He said, being completely honest. He hated Terra's gaurdsmen. They took justice too far. He was even planning on rebeling against his father intell he found out what happened if you let a completely evil villian have mercy.

His right hand man had betrayed him after he declined his Angron's, his brother,offer. He attacked him but failed misserably. Some of his own soldiers took sides with his right hand man and soon there was a battle onboard the Joeseph, his ship that was named after his adopted father. He defeated them but they took several ships and escaped.

They called themselves "Outcasts" and had joined his betraying brother, Angron. "I'm realy confused by your planet. I've been on here for two days and so far the only person I met is a woman that copied my strength. And had me repair a tower the shape of a T." He said after a long silence.

Joshua seemed to be in deep thought. Not surprising, really. He'd probably been through a lot. His silence stretched out, but it wasn't an awkward silence. Shadow waited for some conversation.

"I'm really confused by your planet. I've been on here for two days and so far the only person I met is a woman that copied my strength. And had me repair a tower the shape of a T," Joshua said.

'The shape of a T, huh... That would be Titans Tower. The Teen Titans are a team of people with powers or special skills. They used to protect the city from any threat, but I heard they all disbanded. The girl you met was probably one of them. Maybe she's getting the Titans back together. Anyway, you did everyone a big favour by repairing the Tower,' Shadow explained.

Hmm... the Titans are getting back together? I wonder how Simca will like that news... She mused.

"Yes, I like to repair things. Plus I added some of my technology to the tower as well as some help defending the tower." He said. Meaning help as in placing turrets at the entrance. They were hard to destroy. He witnessed their raw power on an alien planet not far from the milky way. He had to defend himself and his men from hordes of insect looking aliens.

The turrets mowed down them with their bullets. He saw her thinking for a moment and said. "What's wr-" He stopped, seeing a giant figure on the other end of the alley way. He looked around some and saw a symbol of a skull with a large jaw and jagged teeth. "You have got to be ki-" Joshua said, but he was interupted by the giant figure.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!" The giant yelled, charging towards Joshua, not caring for Shadow. Joshua pushed her out of the way and was tackled by the huge thing, it's broud shoulders hitting him first, knocking the wind out of Joshua. The giant ran across the streat, ramming Joshua through a building. The giant turned around and walked into the street, the light hitting it, showing the things face. He had a outwardes jaw with yellow teeth jutting out of his lower jaw.

He stood, his back slouched, twelve feet tall with green skin and muscles. The monster yelled his terrible battle cry "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" He looked at down the alleyway and saw his followers. "Stupid umies. Too weak. Ma boyz wold ave killed dis stinkin umie eazy." The monster said, his voice a deep and snarling.

As Joshua described his job on the building, Shadow was still wondering what the Titans' reunion brought on her. Simca wouldn't go back to them, would she? After all, she and Krious had started the Silvers. They wouldn't just leave.

A disbelieving exclamation and a bull-like roar interrupted her thoughts. Shadow saw, in alarm, a huge figure charging towards her new acquaintance. Joshua pushed her out of the giant's path and took the blow himself. He was shoved through a nearby building, bricks tumbling onto the street.

The cause of all the devastation loomed before Shadow, a twelve-foot tall hunk of muscle and green skin. Its face was not a pretty sight. Shadow was shocked at the abruptness of the attack, but she quickly got over it in the face of danger. She mentally searched the darkness that concealed more monsters, probably working with the ugly one.

Shadow's instincts told her reasoned discussion wouldn't work this time. In fact, the giant monster's mumbling comment was inaudible, and she decided against any talk. She glanced over at Joshua, hoping he wasn't hurt. She doubted she could fight this thing on her own, but she was still going to try.

Joshua was climbing out from under the mountain of bricks he was buried in. Shadow was relieved to see he was unharmed, and switched her attention back to the grotesque... thing before her. She flared her wings and formed her whip, ready for a fight.

The green thing looked towards Shadow, growling lowly. He was looking for something to stomp on. He roared his battle cry again and charged at Shadow. The monster grabbed an axe that he kept in the hideout. The ax was the size of Shadow but the monster held it with one hand as if it was ment to be a one-handed weapon.

Joshua groaned as he slowly sat up. His back cracking as he stood up. That monster was named Gorgutz, an alien Orc that had once slaughtered his soldiers on an expedition. What's worse is that Gorgutz was one of the orc leaders. He took his pistol out and changed it to bolter rounds.

He fired at Gorgutz, the rounds going into his skin, but Gorgutz still charged. He raised his massive ax and brought it down on Shadow.

Again, the monster's battle cry echoed through the alley as it ran towards Shadow, equipped with a massive axe. Shadow wasn't too worried. As the green behemoth swung his weapon down, Shadow darted to one side and jumped up, trusting her wings to carry her higher. When she was above the monster, she swung her whip down and willed it to wrap around the shaft of the axe, yanking it back. Shadow had average strength for a girl her age, but the shadows she commanded could lift an elephant. She pulled the axe, with its owner in tow, towards the already-ruined building on the side of the street. Shadow released her whip a second before contact, watching as the giant flew head-first into the pile of bricks Joshua had just climbed out of.

She landed beside the latter, asking, 'What is that? And where did it come from?'.

Joshua recovered from the slam that Grogutz gave him. He stood at the other end of the sidewalk, away from the pile of bricks Gorgutz was ontop of. "That is an Orc. And I don't know where he came from." Joshua said, changing his ammo back to the ammo he used on the thugs. Gorgutz sat up and growled. He was barely scratched. He stood up on his stubby legs and walked towards the alley. He stopped in the middle of the road. "You," He said, pointing towards Shadow. "Now ya sodding pissed ma off." He looked to his right as a truck was coming. The truck driver pulled on the string, honking at Gorgutz.

Gorgutz quickly turned towards the truck and picked it up when it was close. He looked at Shadow and grinned evily. Joshua quickly pointed his pistol at Gorgutz, firing at him. The paint ammo hit his chest, the fumed going up and into Gorgutz's nose His nose twitched and he threw the 18 wheeler at Shadow.

'Oh, great, first I get a gangster-hating alien, now I get a murderous one,' Shadow muttered sarcastically to herself. She saw, in dismay, that the orc was getting up with barely a scratch. Now she was on his 'revenge' list too. Great.

The truck's horn alerted Shadow, and as the massive orc picked it up, she realised his intentions.

Oh no. There's a driver in there. I've got to help him, I can't let him get hurt. Her thoughts were now entirely focused on saving the truck driver. As the orc hurled the machine at Shadow, she used her whip to sever the cabin from the whole of the truck while it was still in mid-air, hoping it would land straight up. Before the rest of the truck hit her, she summoned all the shadows around her and pushed against the truck, stopping it and sending it back towards the orc.

Shadow had managed to stop a couple of attacks, but she couldn't keep it up. Brute strength wasn't something she excelled in, even using the shadows. And if she pushed her powers too far, well... better not to think about it.

'Joshua.' Shadow's voice was strained. It was an effort to keep her whip strong, her wings out and her shadow sense sharp all at the same time. Not to mention keeping the orc away. 'We can't keep fighting this way. Does he have any weak points? Anything we can exploit?'

Joshua watched and was impressed at Shadow's actions. Gorgutz grinned at the truck and gritted his teeth. He brought his fist back and slammed it into the truck, stoping it in midair. He lowered his fist and tossed it away. Joshua wasn't surprised at what Gorgutz did, he was a show off. Then it hit him, Gorgutz was very gullable and cocky. "Follow my lead." Joshua said to Shadow calmly. He walked and leaned against a building next to the alleyway. "Hey Gorgatz, your pretty hard headed for a peon." He said. Gorgutz growled and slammed his fists on the ground in a fit.

"I um not Gorgatz, he da weakis ork in the klan." He quickly charged at Joshua, his head first. Joshua grinned and quickly dove out of the way at the last second. Gorgutz smashed through the building. He stopped after going through the third building, realizing that he wasn't hitting Joshua.

Joshua grinned and laughed at Gorgutz. He was trying to pick at Gorgutz, hoping he would be angry enough to make another mistake.
