Behind the Mask (Halloween Thread - OPEN!!!)

Halloween meant something to Senshuken that other holidays just seemed to lack. It was the time of year in which the creepy, the spooky and the often misunderstood creatures of the night were held to the moonlight and mostly given the respect that they deserved.

Of course, even he had to admit that the holiday's true meaning had been lost on the masses at one time or another and the spirit of the event had been corrupted by corporate greed. Never before had a corporation lobbied in order to get time set back an hour in order to give the kids an extra hour to trick or treat so that people who gave out candy would have to buy more of it to hand out. He honestly had to look at those who thought up the idea and made it happen with pride.

While Halloween was generally busy for creatures such as himself, Senshuken had ensured that he had been given an hour or two to take part in the local Halloween festival himself for old time sakes. To any other party goer he was a twenty year old male with short black hair and red eyes that almost seemed to glow in the poor lighting, dressed in a surprisingly well made purple robe and wizard hat combo that was painted with blood red runes while carrying a book that appeared to be bound in leather that looked like it might have once belonged to a number of human beings. He found the idea of dressing as a warlock as a funny inside joke and decided to stick with it.

Now Sen knew Halloween was a time that reality itself could get weird due to the increase of the paranormal in the living world. However when the lightning stuck the other side of the bridge he began to feel... weird. It was hard to put the feeling into words, but it was as if someone had plugged him into a power socket and what had started as a normal recharge was quickly turning into an overload. Staring down at his hands Senshuken's eyes widened in horror as bright white lines began to crisis cross over his human form, his skin turning to ash in a matter of seconds until his eyes were blinded by a white light and all he could here was the gale of rushing wind.

Then the light cleared.

When Senshuken opened his eyes, he noticed the changes right away. His vessel had been unable to endure the surge of extra power that had flooded his system and disintegrated. This... was not a good situation. Thankfully, he had prepared for something like it a long time ago. His father had ensured that it was one of the first important things about humans that he had taught to himself and his sister.

"Imagine that Humans are those creatures that live around volcanic vents at the bottom of the ocean. The "real" world doesn't have nearly enough pressure, is bombarded by radiation they are normally protected from, contains predators they cannot imagine--why would anyone need legs, for goodness' sake?--and a creature brought up to the surface cannot comprehend light and then it explodes."

It was why the moment his vessel body had exploded into ash due to the sudden surge of power, Sen started using that surge of power to create a shroud of shadows, dark mist and ash to obscure his body from those that might see his true form. All anyone who gazed upon him would be able to see is a vaguely humanoid being that was completely covered in a living mist of shadows and ash. Except for his eyes. Even with the cover of shadows, a pair of red eyes that seemed to glow against the darkness around them pieced the veil.

Hearing the panicked screams and howling that he was pretty sure was just the beginning of whatever the hell was going on, Sen turned towards where the lightning had first hit and started to walk slowly but with purpose towards the source of this interruption.

Ayumu had decided to take the Japanese inspired path this Halloween, choosing to dress as Kayako Saeki from the movie called The Grudge, dressed in a dirty and tattered white dress, bare feet, dirty looking skin and long black hair covering her face apart from showing one eye with a black iris, she looked quite the scary sight although this was made less scary by the fact she was munching on a small tray of freshly roasted peanuts, as the lightning bolt struck the bridge she dropped her food and felt the strange wind, all of a sudden she felt intense pain as her neck and ankle broke themselves with a sickening snap, she then fell to the floor and started to crawl along it, making a creepy croaking sound from her throat as black, tangled thick hair started to cover some beams of the bridge, a shifting sound being made as it moved.

While every citizens settled out for candies of all kind even well the costumes somes looked more themed as heroes and a few were made as original or simply bought at costuming shops.There was flocks of corwds everywhere upon the streets in any areas peoples were happily scurrying around especially kids...Halloween had definately started up tonight even for a recognized heroine and heavily an aerial speedster.In the warehouse Katera wasnt up to wear a costume but suddenly all the noises she perceived from inside made her quickly pull on her bright silvery bustier dress with ostrich feathers on the bottom altought there was a wad of little gems on the top view.

Right after that she could obviously feel ready to leave and seek for the disturbance as she did,her wings waved up and she zoomed up in the sky land to have a clearer view of the starry night and the bridge since the cracking thunder noise had simply came from there and the fact that something seemed wrong for sure.

Jay was having the best time of her life! The candy, the apple cider, the caramel apples, the candy! It was the greatest night of the year! The time when every one threw candy from floats handed it out at booths and houses and tomorrow, it would all be marked down to prices that she would take full advantage of! What a wonderful holiday. The winged girl had taken advantage of her own improved powers this year, She was dressed in long flowing silks of red, orange and bright yellow that trailed behind her in the breeze as her bright fire bird wings stuck out of her shoulders and a headpiece full of bright feathers sat on her head. She was on the Jump side of the bridge and was putting on a show of her own. In front of her spot was a sign that said "Just throw me candy, no money needed.". She was putting on a fire dance where she would let the flames on her wings catch an she would act as though she was juggling, dancing with or jumping through rings of magically appearing fire.
Jay stopped though as a heavy wind picked up suddenly. She didn't want to risk the fire picking up and being carried to the next booth so she paused to pick out a few candy pieces people had dropped into her plastic cauldron to eat. She was munching on some soft caramel when she noticed it didn't really taste right, she spat it out off the bridge and found a tiny pack of candy corn that she tried to eat, but that tasted off too. She couldn't quite understand why none of the candy tasted right and was going to investigate the bucket of candy when she suddenly saw that her hands had become talons like a bird. suddenly her face began to hurt as a beak took form and the headpiece of feathers grew into her head. When she opened her mouth to cry out the only sound that came from her throat was a loud pheanix caw.
Basically, this is the finished transform. kinda.

Nikki was enjoying the holidays and was wearing an Alice in Wonderland Hare costume, complete with a small plastic tea cup that she was carrying. She was enjoying a magicians show and eating a caramel apple when the wind picked up. The magician scrambled to pick up all of the card he had on his table that were blowing away when the lightning started and a weird light came from the bridge. Nikki looked over at it and wondered if that was part of a sow or if something went wrong. She sighed and was ready to go over there and investigate. She tried to transform but found it impossible. She frowned and began to hop... wait, hop? Nikki looked down at her legs and saw they were now rabbity legs ending in paws. She looked at her hands to see the same paws and when she reached up to pull off the hare ears she had put on she found they wouldn't come off either. She paused for a moment to think but only one thought came to mind. tea-time, tea-time, where's the Hatter? It's tea-time!

Sabrina wandered around the town, a small pack of hell hounds following close behind her. No body seemed to take notice, and when they did they only asked where she got her dog's make up done at. She was wearing a pink and black witch's hat and that was all she intended on wearing for this stupid holiday. This holiday where people dressed up as witch's with crooked teeth and hideous warts and long green noses. She had seen only one witch ever let herself get warts and they were never on her face, let alone that large.
Right as she thought of this some little kids ran by her dressed as the witches from Hocas Pocas. She snorted at their costumes. Hating them for dressing up like that. She walked over to a group of kids surrounding a mini pet show and smirked at a thought, She quickly scribbled a mini dog that looked like one from the show and brought it to life and slipped it past the kids into the area where the pets were performing. Of course, the new dog wouldn't listen to the owner of the booth, but instead took its orders from Sabrina to suddenly attack any little kids to come up dressed like witches. And surely enough, two little girls walked up, one dressed like Starfire, one dressed like a witch with a big green nose, barely staying on the kid's face. The small dog suddenly turned and growled, foaming at the mouth and everything. It took off after the girls and every one ran, even the booth owner. Sabrina laughed and Azraya flew down and grabbed the hat left behind full of change and a few bucks.
"Well, if nothing else goes right, at least there's this." Sabrina laughed. Azraya laughed for a bit but then stopped as a slight breeze picked up. She sniffed the air and smirked to herself. "There seems to be some one here who is using heavy magic." Surely enough lightning struck at the bridge and a beam of light lit up the area. Sabrina looked down at Azraya, who had on a lion's man and a rubber snake head tied to her tail. She had recently watched a movie and decided that if Sabrina was going to dress her, she might as well chose something interesting. Plus she didn't think Sabrina would be able to get all the pieces for the costume she had chosen. But as Sabrina looked back at the snake head, she could have swore she saw it move.
"Well, lets go see who is casting spells around here other then us."
