Catching up [Kardus/Open]

Ever since Fasilli made his "grand announcement," Slymon had been on edge. Though his bod was different, Slymon still easily recognized the mask and voice of the one who brought him to THIS world. A fact by itself that Slymon was grateful for for many reasons, but to hear that Fasilli seemed to imply that he was going to bring THE Lord and Lady of Night to Jump on Halloween, he was actually considering a temporary vacation anywhere else. Slymon had for the most part been keeping under the radar, and working part time at Sol's. It was not as easy or simple as you'd think, due solely to the fact Slymon was trying to avoid any and all documentation of his existence as possible, both to maintain his own privacy and also not draw any unwanted attention to him or Rose.

This inevitably required him to... reveal to Sol what he was and better explain his situation, to which Sol was more accomodating; plus Daniella was enthused to have a possible teacher to learn more magic, and Ally adding in a good word meant Sol would be guilt tripped until he caved in! Not a proud moment for Slymon but he got what he wanted and left it at that.

So, after the announcement he was on edge as aforementioned. This was noticed not only by Daniella and Sol, but also Ally one night after work. After some brief explaining, Ally took it upon herself to have everyone meet up and relax at Sol's so Slymon could clue them in. After Daniella was in bed (twas a school night afterall), Ally would already be there waiting for Slymon and Rosie to get there. Sol also wanted to talk to her about it too, and had mentioned (from what she understood) that Daniella was quite determined to do alittle trick or treating much to his dismay. "Diana has one of these spooky little guys living with her- she's been using it as a butler. She's even more paranoid than you so I don't really think they're all THAT dangerous," Ally remarked off-handedly, taking a sip of her whiskey because of course she's drinking.

Sol rasped something that... in her mind roughly sounded something along the lines of him just wanting to be careful. He had no problem closing early for the night to take her, but all the same he'd want Ally around for extra insurance. Which was a perfectly reasonable request, and she didn't have anything immediately planned. Actually, she did kind of want to have a Halloween party with everyone close to her. Maybe she still could, assuming that this... weird announcement didn't change anything. She had yet to see any of these cute little spooks be bad and had no reason to think they could be, even...

Slymon was in some ways easy to make anxious, some would call him slightly paranoid. From the first time he came to this world, to meeting Ally for the first time, meeting Rose's mother- okay, he had a tendency to worry. But in his mind, he had a healthy level of caution from being normally well informed. This case in particular, once Fasilli alluded to what he was doing... Slymon was actually very rattled. The one consolation that kept him from panicking was that this city had its own defenders in the form of the "teen titans." He was less confident in the local guard, however. He only relaxed slightly as they arrived at Sol's, and even being around Sol was slightly nerve wracking just because he could dehydrate if he and Sol bumped into one another- which was also bad for Sol but he was off tonight so that wouldn't be an issue. This was probably one of the safer places to be.

Slymon looked for a place to sit as Rose went to go hug someone, which naturally was Ally after Sol pointed her out to the green haired woman. "Hi Rosie! It's so good to see you again~" Ally picked her up easily and hugged her for a moment before setting her back down. Slymon was not spared and also hugged, much to his only slight chagrin. "And you too Simon~" Ally remembered to use the more "normal" sounding name he went by.

"You too... but can you please put me down?" Slymon said begrudgingly, another safe place to be... or atleast it felt like a safe place to be was in Ally's arms but she usually had that effect on people. Plus her incredible strength.

Sol waved to them and gave Slymon a knowing look before the latter nodded and took his seat. "So what's wrong? You seem down in the dumps," Ally asked curiously.


Slymon sighed and acknowledged the fact he was literally the only one in the bar with any clue as to what that recent "announcement" entailed. "If only you knew what I did- but to make a long story short, that little announcement that was made. I never had a reason to say this, but me and that guy come from the same world," Slymon began as Sol returned with a whiskey, after Slymon started working and had to reveal what he was to Sol, he had no other reason to deny him drinks.

"You mean the dude with the cute little guys?" Ally took a drink.

"Yes. The Lord and Lady Night he mentions... are very old deities of death- different aspects of it if you will. Without wasting your time too much, The Lord of Night is a shapeshifter that WILL Hunt until he's content or the sun rises, and The Lady of Night is... more selective with her prey. But from my understanding, she stalks battlefields, and even may instigate wars to this end," Slymon briefly summarized the two.

"Then we should only have to worry about The Lord then right? Since there's no war or anything around here," Ally pointed out simply.

"That... may not be completely true but I am more concerned with The Lord of Night. There are ruins and tales of what I presume to be of his Hunts- I never got to explore them but a theory among what few colleagues I had at the time is that The Old Kingdom was brought down at its peak by him," Slymon took a sip of his whiskey.

Sol narrowed the glowing orbs that were his eyes with concern and rasped... something. Slymon perked up and since he started working here, paid extra mind to try and understand what he was saying. He probably knew as much as Ally did but he had atleast read Ignan once upon a time. "He usually doesn't discriminate, everything is fair game... but I think he's a victim of pride too if the theory has any truth to it. His Hounds are a different matter though," Slymon responded in regards to Sol asking about if he went after specific people more than others.

Ah, it was so good to see Ally again!  It didn't bother her much that Ally quickly left to show some affection to Simon too.  They needed to catch up as well; but it was soon made evident that there was more to catch up on than just each other's company.  

"If only you knew what I did-"

Uh oh...  That would ring in Rose's ears for a while and faded away the smile she had been wearing.  It was then Simon revealed the purpose to this meeting, and Rose could feel the air in the room shift.  Rose would slowly take her seat, eyes and ears attentive to her boyfriend as she heard what he had to say.  It seemed they may all be in danger.  

"What should we do?" Rose typed, looking to Simon as she pressed play.  She was quite unaware of what they were up against and Simon seemed like the only one educated enough to have any semblance of a plan.  It sounded like this was turning into a man hunt.
