Good Cop, Secret Agent (Mega)

Captain Rodriguez would be sitting at her desk, her face white as a ghost as she got off the phone. Why her department? Why would they give her Him? She would have to put him with someone she could trust. Someone who wouldn't hesitate to take him down if he decided to go AWOL.

"BARLOWE! GET IN HERE ON THE DOUBLE!" She would walk over to the fax machine, as it spit out documents. The name was blacked out, of course it was. The only thing identifying him that wasn't blocked out was a codename. Nomad. The name gave her chills. Under that was a service record including The United States Army, Joint Task Force, and FBI. But there was one word on there that had her blood run cold: DOMA. Of course, his list of skills was impressive, but the amount of terror that organization caused in this town, especially when they brutally took over the JCPD, it didn't sit right with her. She would lay the papers on her desk, when the detective would enter, she'd pour him a drink. "You're going to need this, we've got a transfer, he's going to be your partner." She'd push the papers to him.

Barlowe since the entire DOMA occupation began, more or less been turning his attention to anything which fell outside of DOMA's scope. His original investigations into Three Oni showed promise with some assistance from the titans, and then it came to a dead stop and taken from him when DOMA somehow caught wind that Three Oni had "superhuman" ninjas. That also pretty much eliminated any possible investigations that could lead to arresting some of the various supervillains that had been broken out some time ago. "We'll handle it from here on out." Barlowe didn't buy that for a minute and days into their occupation, they didn't come up with shit. Normally he'd have sat on it and just immediately gone to other cases he could solve if not for a member of PSI, Hans, who had been acting as a specialist in DOMA had given him alittle more insight into the matter.

Basically, it was quite possible that the higher ups- maybe even the ninjas themselves, were demons of a kind. So he felt he needed to try and keep his eyes and ears open for their activitys, eventually learning of an attempted alliance being brokered between them and The Skulls. More Three Oni bodies also turned up, which based on their gun wound indicated execution style. This could've been written off if not for the fact that Barlowe's investigations prior which revealed the existence of their "hitman." And there had not yet been any more incidents of such a graphic nature thus yet, and that worried him. After their bold stunt at a mafia joint, which they recorded for everyone to see- who could've been so stupid to pick a fight with them? And why hadn't their body come through in a bag?

In the end it didn't really matter. DOMA had their chance and it had been brought to light that they had some connections to some rather disturbing evidence of research from STAR Labs. It was things like this which made him trust his government less and less, and also look over his shoulder more often than before. And now he was reopening his previous case, trying to piece things together from where DOMA had... made an attempt and not much else. Wasn't that they didn't do anything but they weren't police. The reports they filled out probably went to their superiors or sent somewhere else. Atleast they were gone now, with the exception of Hans who was "around" to keep investigating the supernaturals in the city. And then he heard the captain shouting for him. This couldn't be good...

He quickly tided up and headed to her office. "You bellowed?" Barlowe quipped trying to defuse whatever situation he was about to find himself in, arching an eyebrow at the drink. This WAS bad, and that limited what it could be. This implied that it was something they both weren't going to like but would have to put up with, or more so him specifically. He took a seat and picked up the papers she pushed toward them and very quickly figured out why. Oh, so that's why. "Thought this prick had been reassigned to the middle of nowhere. And now we're getting stuck with him?" Barlowe remarked going through the pages.

The captain would open her mouth to answer him, but her voice would be cut off by a slight Russian accent, "Syria, Iraq, Libya for a time. Detective Barlowe, how good it is to see you, it's been what? Half a year at least." Even the captain would have jumped from the sudden appearance of the devil himself. He oozed the charisma he did in the news interviews, wearing a nice charcoal suit with a red tie, of course on his hip was his pistol. He had a devilish grin as he walked, no, floated into the room, "Terribly sorry about everything that happened with DOMA. Waller hadn't really given me much to work with. Good thing somebody leaked those STAR reports." He'd wink at the captain, "Lord knows they tied your hands so tight you couldn't look under your own noses." He'd then lean against the desk, "I suppose a real introduction is in place. Special Agent Kristoff Makarov, FBI, Division of Domestic Affairs. I'm going to be transparent. The true reason I'm here is to clean up any stragglers of the DOMA mess I helped create. And catch bad guys while I'm here." He'd cross his arms and sigh, "I truly am sorry, it went out of control, I was supposed to keep it small here, but Waller wanted to go big. Testing my allegiance to her cause I reckon, paranoid bitch..."

Barlowe also wasn't immune to the sudden arrival- he wasn't the god damned batman afterall. He did not however look any degree of apologetic for what he said, Barlowe shared the department's disdain for DOMA and it's kind. "I hadn't been counting..." Barlowe quipped about how long it had been. This was the point Barlowe took that drink, while Kristoff more or less reintroduced himself. He wasn't sure whether or not to even consider the possibility of Kristoff being sincere, he seemed awfully sincere about him and his cronies openly shooting him and other cops if they got in their way. And that was the general attitude as a whole. Stragglers of DOMA? So far everyone involved with them either was being looked over, or would be gone over with a fine toothed comb. This was probably more just a means for the government to save face. But he wasn't a conspiracy theorist, too much work grasping at straws to connect.

"So this mean yer joining the MRO?" Barlowe questioned, more like hoped as that meant he wouldn't be bothered as much by his being here. He was sure that many of them had a few choice words for em...
