| Rose's gaze kept away for a little while, until Sol's words indicated his curiosity. The stranger, however, seemed much more demanding for more explanation. She was left staring at the stranger, a puzzled look on her face. How was she supposed to explain what she was? She couldn't talk. All she could do was lift up her hand and tap on her horns. That really didn't seem to help much, though. She could be a Minotaur for all they gave away.
Thankfully Daniella showed up, bringing a smile to Rose's face as she waved to her friend. Finally she was up! And she got a present? A book? Huh, so she needed a teacher. Well Rose was no stranger to magic, but it didn't seem likely that she'd be able to teach Daniella much with her condition.
She took advantage of the distraction, staying silent in the hopes that Hans would forget to continue inquiring about her. She had no choice except to be silent, obviously, but this time she was thankful for it.

| "Where did this book come from?" Hans asked, not forgetting so much as moving onto a different matter, one which was more relevant right now.
"Santa I think. Not THE Santa but definitely a Santa- think he's one of the Steves. Sol was the only one to ever see him... even after I said to wake me up when he stopped by," Daniella replied before Sol had a chance, unaware of their ability to understand eachother. "Haven't you gotten anything?" Daniella asked curiously.
Steves? Was that- is that what those masked spirits called themselves? "No, not really..." Hans replied, not wanting to tell her that he had been getting coal. Least it wasn't crashed through his ceiling, as he had heard some DOMA agents complaining about once. That implied that this... "Santa Steve" was somehow aware of them and their work, and he disapproved. But did he reward the villains of this city? More questions he didn't have a way to answer. "May I have a look, Sol?" Hans asked, Sol handed him the book and he cracked it open.
Just like before, the pop ups... popped up and moved around too intricately to be normal. The "Steves" also seemed to be hiding behind things as if trying to avoid him as he tried to figure out how one actually used this book at all. There wasn't a contents, and no discernible writing. Although he was noticing a theme going through the pages as Daniella tried to peer over. One section seemed to be underground in the mines and he recognized the similar attire to the Stocky Steve that had just left. They seemed to be too busy digging to notice or care about Hans. "Oooh lookit that one!" Daniella said pointing to a Steve that seemed to be digging without tools. He instead seemed to be doing what could've been a dance, or a style of martial arts that used a lot of stomping and directional movements. Hans went back abit to another section, and looked alittle harder to see if he could see something like that. He could not. Hans decided to close the book and slid it back toward Sol for now.
"Some of the marks in the fire section reminded me of home, slightly," Sol remarked off-handedly.
"So they ARE elemental spirits..." Hans said causing Daniella's eyes to widen.
"You understood Sol? Could you always or did you learn how?" Daniella asked both excitedly and curiously. Hans nodded toward Rose, drawing Daniella's gaze to her. "What did Rose do? Did she teach you? You're a fast learner if that's true," Daniella continued with both child-like naivety, but a sharp wit. Sol "smiled" in that his eyes bent into the shape of ^^.

| Rose had little else to do but listen and watch the three of them as they talked about these Steve people. They were indeed curious creatures. The book seemed just as curious; no words and all pictures from the looks of it. Hans seemed to want to know as much about them as he could, and that was probably a good thing. What were they even? They didn't seem hostile whatever they were, but where did they come from? What did they want? Just to mine? Who knew.
Rose just watched in curiosity at the book, listening until Daniella caught wind that Hans could understand Sol. Rose smirked a little at her questions, and decided to nod at that last one in order to take credit for Hans' sudden linguistic talent. Yes, she had 'taught' Hans.

| "Really? But you said before you'd only been here for two days. Does this mean that demons share your language Sol?" Daniella asked, still skeptical that it was as simple as her just "teaching" Hans.
"I don't think they do. But that's how it happened, more or less," Hans replied, munching on his wings. It seemed like he had his work cut out for him. This town was just teaming with supernatural occurences one after the other. These Steve-creatures seemed like the next thing he should try to investigate.
"More or less what?" Daniella questioned.
"Hm? That's the gist of it really. Have these things been here long?" Hans asked for either Sol or Daniella to answer.
"They appeared before the snow started, and have just kind of been all over the place since," Daniella replied thoughtfully.
Well, then it sounded like there was some kind of connection. If they WERE elemenal spirits like he thought, and there was this unnatural weather happening, then that had to mean that a number of frost spirits- or a singular powerful elemental was behind this. Maybe this Santa Steve. He'd have to look into that. He glanced at Rose again and had an idea. If she could just enable him to magically understand these creatures... maybe he could catch one and interrogate it for answers. Or he could just wait for that Stocky Steve to return and... try to do the same thing. "Rose, if I may- I think I'm going to need your help to uncover the mysteries behind these Steve creatures. And based on what Daniella said, I think they may have a connection to the constant snow," Hans said simply.
"It hasn't really stopped yet today has it?" Daniella asked curiously. Hans nodded. It started up like it normally did and so far hadn't stopped, and that couldn't mean anything good. Maybe the elemental behind this was growing in power.

| Rose listened to their conversation, unable to correct Daniella. No, she hadn't 'taught' them sol's language exactly, and the spell would wear off eventually. Actually, shouldn't Daniella have the ability to look and see that it was a spell? Well, she'd have to test for that to know, wouldn't she? And she likely wasn't going to look on her own. Oh well; explaining things was overrated.
Rose had gone back to eating as well as she listened, almost finished when Hans stated that he would need her help. Her response was blank; a quiet stare back at this strange man before she turned her head and looked around for a moment. Nope, there were no other Rose's here. With a gaze back at Hans, a puzzled expression pasted to her face, she pointed to herself. What was she supposed to do?

| Hans had opted to go the route of vague, "she taught me" to spare Rose Daniella badgering her to teach her magic. It was ovious the girl wanted to learn more about it and while Rose had revealed herself capable, it'd be quite difficult and frustrating to try teaching her right now. Since Rose didn't seem to know how to even write. "He may be planning on questioning one of the masked creatures, which seem to have taken a liking to you," Sol chimed in at Rose's blank expression.
"Frost understands them? I thought they just made funny sounds," Daniella questioned
"Rose is a good listener, and I'm sure she'd be able to help 'translate' what they're saying. I'm not sure about their fondness though," Hans answered her sincerely, trying to subtly hint to Rose what she could do.
"They seemed to pay her more mind than anyone else. They've likewise also listened more to Daniella," Sol explained.
"They're a lot of fun- they 'sang' at karaokre and stuff. And they've loved having snow ball fights and making snowmen. But then the snow's gotten worse, and that's bad for Sol's health. Because the snow would melt if it touched him directly," Daniella chimed in. And yes it would've.

| The others seemed to bring up a good point. The strange creatures did seem to kind of like Rose, pausing to notice her when she was around. It might be as simple as because she was pretty; at least, those were the words she remembered them using. Maybe it was for other reasons, but that would require the investigation Hans seemed keen on. Very well; it seemed like a good idea to help with looking into what was going on.
Rose seemed to think about it for a bit before looking up to Hans and nodding to him. Yes, she would help. But first...she had to finish her wings, and munched at them more quickly. Boy these were messy...
