Powers

Absorption


A) Energy Absorption: Rumor can touch someone and gain their powers through skin to skin contact.
She only has the power for the duration that she touched someone. Touched them for a second? She can only use the power once, and for a 1-2 second duration (can throw ONE fireball, can turn invisible for 1-2 seconds, etc.) The longer she touches someone, the longer she is able to use the ability.

B) Skill Absorption: Skills such as 'parkour', artist skills, cooking skills can be gained when Rumor is touching the person. Once again only lasts for the duration she is touching said person.


C) Emotion Absorption: Rumor can touch someone skin to skin and gain the emotion that they are feeling for the duration that she has touched someone.
Example: Someone is crying, Rumor can absorb their emotion (to very little or non existent) and she'll take the blunt of the emotion and be crying for the duration she was touching the person.

-Can use what she has gained for any three, but only for the duration of touching someone. So she can experience the skill, emotion and power at the same time but can only use them for the duration of touching said person. So she can be feeling a mental breakdown, while being able to throw a ball of fire.

-Person who is touched abilities, skills and emotions will be weakened, very low to not at all depending on the person faced and depending on the duration of touching. If Rumor touches someone for longer than 10 minutes, they will completely be without the said power/skill/emotion for 10 minutes. Under 10 minutes, powers are weakened.

Physical Weaknesses

Touching people. She has no on or off switch, if she touches someone she gains their power/skill/personality.

Touching more than two people skin to skin? Not likely, but she will have both powers but only for the duration of touching.

Wears gloves so she won't accidentally touch someone.

Mental Weaknesses
Rumor struggles with her optimistic personality and her dark powers. She doesn't like what she can do, and would try to not use her powers, but she would if it were life and death.

Calling Rumor a 'Witch' makes her lose control of herself and causes her to over due it when engaging in her powers. She'll burn out the power she has gained instantly.

She can experience the skill, personality and power at the same time but can only use them for the duration of touching said person. This can cause her to go mentally unstable, especially if touching two people who are feeling two different emotions, and she may have gained both abilities of said people, but her emotions will most likely make her unstable.

Personality
Rumor tries her hardest to keep an optimistic view on life, she will try anything to avoid using her powers. She is a great and loyal friend who hates those that mess with her friends and she thinks that's something she should use her powers for. She's described as 'bubbly' and fun to be around. She has a cute and innocent personality, and it's hard for neutrals and goods to be mean to her because of this personality. Evils may struggle, but usually don't care.

Rumor unfortunately has a dark side, one that she doesn't like to bring up and act as though it's not there. Her family was killed two years ago, and she gets very emotional when it's brought up.
The one and only thing that would cause Rumor to use her powers with no mental or physical control is when she is compared to or called a 'Witch.' She gets very insulted resulting in her powers going on hyperdrive and she loses control, often overusing the power she has gained (as in pushing herself to use more of the power she most likely doesn't have enough of), and weakening herself.

History
Rumor had grown up in a wonderful family. Her father was amazing as well as her mother and younger brother. When Rumor was 14, someone had burned down her family’s house with her mother, brother and father inside. Witnesses say the man who was last seen around the house had ‘fire in his eyes.’  Rumor’s main goal in life is that she is hunting the villain who had killed her family. Her main theory falls into her family background, because Rumor was a descendent from witches in Salem in the 1600’s.

Rumor is descended from one of the powerful Witches in Salem, her powers are a result of this. Her Great-Great-Great-Great Grandmother was Vanya Ellis Reese and was one of the most powerful Witches in Salem. Her Grandmother has sought revenge on those who killed actual and fake Witches alike. In 1628, Vanya’s mother was hanged for the crime of Witch Crafter in Salem, Massachusetts. Vanya’s powers flourished as her anger and starvation for revenge grew and grew. Rumor was never sure what had happened to her G-G-G-G Grandmother, but she knows that there are some people who know about her family. Rumor understands that there are people who want to kill her because of their disgust for Witchcraft. Rumor didn’t consider herself a Witch, she couldn’t do anything else. Vanya had developed the power from a spell gone wrong and it followed down the family line, skipping generations (including Rumors mother and Grandmother) until Rumor had developed the power.


Now, Rumor still wanders looking for the mysterious man who burned down her house and killed her family. Her parents and brother were human and not guilty of performing ‘witchcraft’ as those would say, the burning was meant for Rumor and she would never let it go. That’s why she continues hunting and wants vengeance for the torture of her family.

Right, onto the first issue I have found is the imbalance and lack of restrictions or limits to her power as a whole. Also keep in mind that anything which manipulates/tries to control something about another character will carry heftier restrictions than other powers. The reason for this is simple, it's no fun playing when you the player have your choice for what your character will do taken away. And this character is nothing BUT control.

Her first instance of this is forcing someone to experience being tortured, with no way of avoiding it, no way of knowing what it does the first time around, and no way of breaking it while in effect. 5-10 minutes is a long time in rp battles with virtually no way to break out of it. And if it takes her 3-5 seconds to use the effect, it would make sense that she could be interrupted right? I bring that up because there is no weakness to say so.


And blatant mind control is a no-no. I'm otherwise confused as to how this forces someone to go against their self-preservation, and it falls into the same issues as her first power. There is no counterplay, she can just do it and it kicks into effect, and again there is no escape mechanic that someone could figure out. But again, blatantly controlling other people's characters is a no go.


Finally, more a nitpicky thing but the history is a big lump of text that looks like it could be split up into three sections.

Right this is much better than before in my opinion. I'm still confused as to why personality is there though. While not as big an issue as last time, that very loosely comes off as character controlly- only because it's absorbing part of the character themself if that makes sense. Emotions are fine though.

So basically just remove that bit and you should be good to go ^^
