The Maximum Security Prison, a place where some of the most dangerous villains are kept. Every city had one, Jump City's had more renown due the frequent super powered menaces that plagued the innocent. From the members of The HIVE 5 (which didn't have 5 members but that's neither here nor there), Cinderblock, Overload, Plasmus, and many many more- could be found here. This was mainly due in part to the recent victory over The Brotherhood of Evil, as many of the villains who sided with them shared their fate. But a few slipped through the cracks, either due to never being allowed to join, or choosing to join. And then there was one, special and unique case of a new menace that nobody ever sees coming until it's too late.
The alarms were blaring as the cells of EVERY prisoner opened before chaos ensued. Walls were blown down, releasing the prisoners who all made a run for it in hopes of getting as far away as possible before THEY showed up. But a giant green T-Rex, vollies of green energy bolts, a beam of force, a black glowing raven, and gadgets that rivaled batman told them that they were already too late.
"Titans, go!" Robin exclaimed, the team fanning out and trying to pincer the wave of inmates tryingt o escape. But it wasn't them that they were worried about, it was the more dangerous supervillains also trapped inside they were worried about. Fortunately, police were already arriving to help with the regular inmates.
And then something not completely improbable but just unexpected happened. There was a cackle from above and behind Robin, prompting him to roll out of the way of... a giant knife? On top of it was a garish;y dressed Jester with a simple smiling mask.
"Heeheehee, free, free- PLAY WITH ME!" The Jester giggled excitedly before his tone suddenly turned nothing but malicious.
The Jester then lept down, another pair of knives in his hands as he lounged for Robin who gracefully moved around them, sweeping the Jster's legs out and hopping back to get alittle breathing room. Unfortunately the Jester tucked his legs back and flipped with his falling momentum, landing back on his feet in a crouching position. And then he shot off again, thrusting both knives for Robin who just had enough time to push them away with his birdarangs, keeping them at bay.
'Who are you? And what're you doing with freeing all of these criminals?" Robin growled. The Jester's mask opened unnaturally, revealing a glimmer a second before Robin flipped backwards and narrowly avoided... a sword?! Did that actually shoot out of his mouth?
"It is me, The Great Fasilli! And like a key, they I have set free! ALL of them~" Fasilli rhymed, suddenly having several more knives that he started to juggle. And instead of answering Robin, he simply started to throw daggers. To which Robin wither parried or dodged before noticing that one by one they flashed red, and turned back around. Robin leaped into the air to avoid their second pass, throwing a couple freeze discs at Fasilli who just sprouted some wings and flew up laughing.
"Is this some kind of game to you?" Robin demaded.
"No, games are fun. AND I'VE HAD NONE! I try and try. But THEY only make me cry! So the slate is now clean," Fasilli prattled on, seemingly not exactly talking to Robin specifically.
"What're you talking about?" Robin blinked, readying some flash bang discs. This guy was obviously crazy, so if he could just keep him talking...
"You could have rhymed! No matter.... you wouldn't understand. Nobody wanted you and the others to even exist until now. And even then, ONLY I REMAIN!" Fasilli replied, suddenly breaking his rhyming routine as he lazily floated. Were those wings just decoration?
Yup, he was totally crazy and seemed to be talking nonsense. Robin had been about to put his plan to bring that jester back down into motion, when his communicator started going off. Fasilli's mask suddenly showed teeth in it's smile.
"Go ahead, answer it. I won't disturb you... for now~" Fasilli giggled darkly, now laying on his stomache whilst floating in the air as if gravity didn't exist.
Robin put his flashbangs away and did so slowly, not taking his eyes off the mad jester as he flipped it open. No sooner had he done so, a familiar voice crackled through.
"Yo Robin! This is Bee! We got a big problem over here at the Steel City Prison. Some crazy jester throwing giant swords everywhere has broken out all of the inmates-" Bee was interupted by someone from titans south, saying much the same thing. And this was also followed by Titans North. Robin's expression hardened as he listened to the other titans teams encountering the same problem, caused by... the same jester.
"What's with that expression? That looks like the expression... of someone really butthurt because they realize there is nothing they can do to stop this from happening. And you know why? BECAUSE PLOT CONVENIENCE! If I can't have my fun in an alternate reality of this world, then I shall try making fun HERE. Where you guys actually exist. And if that doens't work, IT'S NOT LIKE THERE WOULD BE ANY DIFFERENCE!" Fasilli cackled, prompting Robin to pull out his flashbangs and reach for his grappling hook. He didn't even need to use the flashbangs, Fasilli never moved as he simply started to laugh hysterically. But Robin quickly used his grappling hook to pull the deranged jester back down and threw him to the ground.
"Call it off! Now!" Robin demanded. But Fasilli only laughed more.
"You're hardly in a position to make demands of me boy. But that anger you feel, it feels me with such joy~" Fasilli giggled, his body suddenly flashing red with a mechanical whine. Not wanting to find out what that would mean, Robin dove out of the way and avoided the jester suddenly blowing up.
"Robin!" A familiar voice exclaimed through the ringing in his ears. Robin was brought back up to his feet from Starfire, who had been helping the others with The H5, Mumbo, Adonis, The Terrible Trio, and an army of small masked creatures that could shoot cannonballs out of their mouths when she heard the explosion go off.
"I'm fine! We have bigger problems. We're not the only ones dealing with a breakout. This was an attack to free every criminal we put away," Robin drew his bo-staff and narrowed his eyes at the chaos. Armed inmates firing at the titans or police, the titans fighting their various enemies, and the strange minions of this Fasilli just running amok against everyone. Was that what he really wanted? To spread chaos?
"We have a lot of work to do. Let's do what we can here and regroup," Robin said before running to join the others in the fray.

Right, so with that out of the way. Canons are back like most of you wanted. The original plan was to gradually introduce them so as to not completely bend overbackwards what we had planned with the league and all that. But that never got off the ground due to the lack of... contribution. So now we're doing a hard reset. An actual clean slate for everyone to work with. "What about my progress?" I hear none of you asking because it's self evident at this point that no progress has been made in the months that have passed.
Canons also are now back, and part of the world as normal. ANYONE can apply for them, regardless of how long they've been a member. As long as someone can prove that they can play as X canon, they get the canon. So what does this mean with canons being back? Well, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that canons can add some importance to threads or plots, and I've always missed being able to interact with any canons using my OCs. Some are also just fun to play, and I remember back when I think Dee played as Mumbo running for mayor. Canons also don't require time and effort in "creating" so much as looking them up on a wiki, or simply remembering how they are from the show and writing that down. There's also no longer any pressure on the staff trying to replace the main titan team with several of their own OCs because no one else is interested enough in joining.
The bad news: There are now already canons filling the positions of the main team, East and possibly South (not sure on that one). They EXIST as a crime fighting team and have been doing it for awhile. OCs created will be NEW to town unless they have a good enough reason to explain why the titans either haven't thrown them in jail, or why they haven't been noticed until not. What I'm saying is, crime would be quite low with them around so that doesn't leave a lot for people to do. But it's likely that this will not be that big of a factor one way or another.
That all being said however, this is why ALL of the criminals that were rounded up after The Brotherhood of Evil were defeated have now been released by your friendly neighborhood reality bending jester. Just because the teams original members exist now, doesn't mean they aren't recruiting. In fact, they are probably more inclined to recruit new members to help deal with the reality bending jester who may or may not even remain relevant after serving his purpose as a plot device.
Also, there is a brand new template to go along with this latest reboot. Which everyone is now required to use. Which means everyone will have to remake their characters- or just take their original profile, and move over the relevant information. It's mostly only been tweaked here and there. The only big change is that instead of having up to 3 powers and 2 "sub-powers" everyone will now have 1 MAIN power, with up to 5 applications. Check out thew new set of guidelines I made
here. And the new template can be found
here.
A list of more limitations may be added down the line but the one I've given, plus mentioning that you can just use the canons from the show as reference should suffice for now. Apparently not many people wanted to make a character with more freedom, and this "1 main power" is definitely moved back to the other extreme. But based on what I remember of the show, most everyone had ONE power with some exceptions of magic or tech users. But the most common characters only had one power that they could use for several things. Like Kid Flash was a speedster, mammoth was really physically capable, Hotshot was literal fire- etc.
Moving along, as I mentioned everyone will have to "make" new characters. Or at the bare minimum, everyone's character will be treated as brand new after being moved over to the new profile. This also means that NO ONE will remember The Vanishing. Excluding one obvious exception. It's a hard reset for a reason. We originally wanted to reintroduce the canons naturally through an event, and work from there but it didn't happen. And I wasn't thrilled with just making an announcement "canons have appeared and stuff. Yay."
I wil try to be around to assist anyone
actually interested in porting their character over, applying for a canon, questions about the changes, assistance, or being the lightning rod of hate for anyone upset by this.
