| Much like a double edged sword it also carries a double edged meaning. It was a weapon to kill, to strike down enemies. Yet it was also a tool of protection, to serve in the name of many. So what happens for a sword that has nothing to cut down or protect. This was the question that floats in the mind of the young female albino as she stares out into literal nothing as she sits on the rocky beach. There was no warmth, no wind, no smell, just bleak nothingness that stretches onto infinity. She pulls her legs up to her chest, wrapping her arms around her knees as she continues to stare blankly ahead. The desolate plane was similar to her in a internal sense, it was as if she became robotic in thinking process. She doesn't remember much of anything, not even her name. | |

| It had been quite some time since Reese found herself waking up on the island with no memories of how she ended up there or even the last thing she was doing before regaining consciousness. All attempts at remembering seemed to get more and more pointless as the memories that kept surfacing gave her the impression that they happened recently and yet at the same time long ago. The blank space in-between was an unknown factor. Had it been days? Or months? Or years? She didn't know.
It seemed she was also out of sense with time. On the first day she was awake, when she tried to meditate and recollect her thoughts and memories, before she knew it, more than a day had passed. Was it really possible to be that out of touch with time? This incident led to her discovery that the main reason for that was that she currently did not feel hunger, nor thirst, nor the need for sleep. It was freaky. It was almost like she was dead or something. The thought made her shiver. For the moment, it seemed she could interact with the things in her room just fine, so maybe it was something else. But it was then that she decided to venture outside for once.
She was not alone. Plenty of people were up and about. It didn't take long to find out that they were all in fact in the Titans Tower. But looking outside, it appeared some boundary was isolating the island from the rest of the world. This really was a strange setup. As far as she could tell from a few interactions with people, though most of them preferred to keep to themselves, nobody really knew what was going on or why they were there. Something was watching over them, but trying to ask it anything about their situation appeared to be a lost cause.
So they didn't need any nourishment or rest of any sort and had all the time in the world to do whatever they wished, but with no concrete purpose or goal. Not to mention many were missing large chunks of her memories. Reese found that she was lucky to even be aware of her identity. This setting would be enough to drive many people crazy. Perhaps that was why a lot of them retreated into their own rooms and chose not to get involved with anyone. No one knew who was pulling the strings so they felt they couldn't trust anyone.
Luckily for Reese, her optimism was at least intact. She wasn't the type to just sit still and do nothing. Seeing that some people somehow found ways to keep themselves busy, she decided to interact with them to keep herself busy as well. It would also double as a personal investigation. On the off chance that the mastermind of all this was among them, the most interesting seat in the house would be among these people. There was no downside to getting to know and keeping tabs on everyone then just in case.
At some point she realized that it wasn't actually over. More and more people seemed to be appearing on the island out of nowhere with similar missing pieces in their memories. At first she thought the new faces were just people who had been staying in their rooms all this time. But she confirmed from several accounts, including her own, that some people simply appeared out of nowhere. Thus she found something new to keep her busy.
Not everyone was as proactive as she was with finding out about their situation. Interacting with complete strangers in such a peculiar setting must have been incredibly frightening for some. It was no wonder they retreated to their own chambers to keep to themselves. Reese would respect their wishes. But to those who were at least brave enough to venture outside, she would extend her hand to help, even though honestly she was just as clueless as many of them. Nevertheless, even the tiniest bits of info were still reassuring right? She went about her business with that thought in mind.
Today she was out on one such walk. A new girl she had never seen before was there sitting on the beach staring out at the sea. Well that's one brave new soul for the day. She casually walked on over to where the girl was, hoping she wasn't the type to be scared to death of strangers.
