Smash and Grab (Open)

It was a cold day at the start of december. The kind of day that kept Wesley moving from store to store in an attempt to stay warm. He had yet to gain the attention of the Illustrious Hive Accademy, and as such, he didn't have anywhere to live. He hadn't really banked on that. Banked... maybe he should rob a bank? No. He didn't have the power to rob a bank alone. So that was right out. Wesley had spent the day mostly pick-pocketing unsuspecting rubes. And now he sat in a small cafe, enjoying some of the fruit of his labor. A nice hot cup of coffee. Black as the night outside the cafe window. Most places like this weren't open this late, but it was the start of the holiday season, and every store in the downtown area was lit up bright.  

Then an opportunity passed right by. Or at least... it drove by. An armored car. That was a small enough mark. Wesley walked out the door, dropping the empty cup to the ground. With a gling in his eyes, he grew the wings of his Pteranodon form and launched himself into the sky. As he rose, he saw the armored car turn the street. With a flourish, he rounded the street corner. The driver of the car was looking in his rear-view mirror, having seen something just before he rounded the bend. His eyes went wide as the mysterious flying... thing shot straight over the truck and dropped like a stone. The brakes of the truck slowed it down, before the Wesley's now bony back brought it to a complete halt. The two looked in fear as the lumbering figure turned around, narrow reptilian eyes staring them down. Neither one moved. Then Wesley shifted again. The muscles in his body became stronger. Tougher. In a single motion, he lunged at the window, shattering it. Before the guards could get their weapons, Wesley knocked their heads together. Out cold.

Stepping out of the truck, Wesley made his way to the back of the truck, ready to tear the door off it's hinges. By this point, cars had stopped and people were screaming. Total chaos. Just the way Wesley like it.

The crunching of metal sounded through the street as Wesley's claws dug into the metal holding the back door of the armored truck in place. It didn't stand a chance. As he looked inside, he saw his payday: Gold Bars. Pretty old school. Frankly, he would have preferred a shiny gemstone, but it would do the trick.  But before he could so much as lay a single claw on a piece of bullion, somebody called out to him. It was probably a hero.

Yep. Definitely a hero. Damn.

Now sure, his opponent was certainly quick witted, and Wesley was never really one for a clever comeback. He preferred to just... hit things. Hard. Looking down at the torn off door in his hand, he decided upon a course of action. When Kaden asked if they were going to do things the hard way, the hard metal door Wesley sent flying in his direction would probably be a good answer. He'd have to make it quick if he was going to get any of that gold from the truck before backup arrived.

This guy was talking his language: The language of hitting hard! He'd have to stay away from his brittle Velociraptor form for this fight. The aim to make Wesley step away from the truck did not work however. Wesley took the two blasts head on, knocking him into the truck itself. "Now... Now I'm mad." Wesley grunted. He was exerting himself... but on a certain level he was glad. He had the chance to beat the ever living tar out of something.

He launched himself forward and out of the armored car. With that, the strength in his arm muscles diminishing. Instead, his head began to grow. It got bony, and dome shaped. The smaller explosions Kaden sent at the charging Kid Cretaceous would simply glance off. With a roar, Wesley charged straight through the explosions at Kaden with the power of a battering ram.
