Cat Fight (Diva)

'Sing Your Heart Out,' a local karaoke bar. 8 PM.

"I just...I don't know where I went wrong, you know?"

A woman in a formal blouse and skirt sat at the bar. Her high heels were lying on the ground at the base of her bar stool. She cleaned off her glasses, looking at her reflection for a second before putting them back on. She let her hair down and then took another drink. She'd had a few already, even though it wasn't that late.

"Crazy. It doesn't make you crazy. I'm not crazy. They're crazy. Now they're taking away my licence. It's just not fair."

The woman squinted. In her drunken state, one customer was starting to look more and more familiar. The woman stood up, struggling to maintain her balance for a moment. She pointed a finger at the owner of the bar. "You. How dare you show your face here!"

The owner looked confused. "Um. Please settle down, miss, or I'll have to ask you to leave."

"Oh no," The woman said. "Somebody's got to teach you a lesson. You're not getting away from me this time." With that, the woman started to shake. Her body changed, and she grew golden fur, turning into a lion. People screamed. The owner backed up, but the lion pounced on him. There was no time to wait for the police or anyone else. Someone had to do something.

The lion bared her teeth.

I'm cleaning a table nearby when a customer starts causing a scene. All of a sudden people are dreaming and fighting to with get to the front door, or away from her.

I rush to where the commotion is coming from just in time to see a lioness tackling my boss. I frown at the two of them, fighting with myself for only a moment before shifting.

Within moments I am on all fours as I let out a mighty roar. I launch my self at the lioness and knock her off the man. My eyes glow red for a moment but I can't let that happen. It would cause more harm than good. I push Ivana back down for the time being. I only let her out if it would cause more good than harm and with all these pedestrians it would definitely cause more harm.

I pin the lioness down for a moment, just long enough to lift my furry head and shout at a customer. "Call the cops!" I'm just glad I can speak in tiger form. My attention is then quickly taken back up by the lioness.

"Do you know who you're defending?" The lioness asked. "Wait a minute. You...you're a cat, too. That monster. So, he already had a cat. You stole my idea."

The lioness threw Ivory off of her and jumped to her feet. She looked at the owner for a second. "You really have betrayed me. I'll never forgive you as long as you're alive." The owner looked absolutely terrified and confused.

The woman returned her focus to Ivory. "But first, I'm going to hurt you."

The lioness burst into movement, closing the distance between the two great cats and striking out with her claws at Ivory.

I sigh when she asks if I know him. "Yes. He's my boss. I work at this bar." I nod when she acknowledges I'm a cat. "I am? I thought I was a bird..." I say sarcastically before she throws me off of her.

"So what did he do?" I ask as her focus returns to me. The lioness launches herself at me and I jump, landing on her back and jumping off, a move designed to claw the back and throw her off balance.

I plan to do as little damage as I can, and hopefully simply talk her down and let her burn off steam. "And I doubt you will hurt me. There are very little shifters that are as strong as a Pasievien."

The tiger girl was fast. She evaded the lioness' attack and actually jumped on her back, digging her claws in before leaping off.

The lioness winced. "He stole my magical tools, ultimately dooming the world. I was preparing a spell that would save the world from its impending doom, but he ruined everything."

The tiger said that she was stronger than the lioness, being something called a Pasievien. The lioness didn't know what that meant. "We'll just have to see, then." The lioness jumped on the bar, grabbed a cup of beer with one paw, and threw it at Ivory. Hoping the girl was distracted, the lioness pounced back after the owner, going for a bite with her massive jaws.

I frown as she says this. Either this girl was crazy.... or she was messed up and crazy. I couldn't tell which but now was not the time to contemplate it.

The lioness grabbed and threw a half full glass of beer at me. I half doge, half swat it away, with a growl. I then see her going for my boss and sigh.

I then throw myself in the way, claws sheathed I cuffed the side of her face, hoping to get her teeth out of the way before lowering my head and barreling into her side.

The tiger was fast. She managed to knock the lioness' teeth out of the way before slamming into her and sending her flying. There was a loud cracking sound as the lion's body demolished a wooden cabinet. The lion stood up, shaking off the impact.

"You would have been happy in my new world. We cats would rule supreme."

The lioness started muttering something unintelligible. A few seconds later, she doubled in size. She now towered over the tiger. She grinned with drunken malice. Moving fast, the lioness shoved a table in the direction of both Ivory and the boss.

I give a kitty shrug as she says this, not really caring. "I don't want to rule supreme. That's why I left my planet." As she shoves a table towards me I move to block the man before leaning my head down and using it to do under the table before lifting it quickly, catapulting it to the other side of the room.

My tail lashes behind me. Dang I wish I could do that. I want to get bigger whenever I want like that. I bare my teeth and let out a low growl, indicating that she should back off or things would get serious.

"Listen crazy. I don't want to hurt you but you're putting this man's life in danger and I can't let that happen. I haven't even started really fighting you yet. This could get ugly fast if you don't back down." My tail is lifted in a dominant position and I glare at the lioness.

"You were a fool, then. Cats were made to rule."

The tiger said that she hadn't even started to fight at this point. Was the lioness simply too drunk to fight effectively? If the tiger had been holding back, then growing larger like this wouldn't help too much. Was the girl lying? The lioness tried to decipher if this was a lie or not. The tiger looked pretty serious, and the lioness hadn't actually landed an attack on her yet.

A door opened behind the lioness, and a 10 year old girl with white hair walked in. The lioness quickly trapped the girl beneath a giant paw, being careful not to actually hurt her...yet.

"It can get a lot uglier, Tiger. If you don't let me finish my business with that man, then I'll turn this kid into a bloody mess. It doesn't matter how fast or strong you are. You won't be able to stop me. So what's it going to be? Him? Or her?"

I keep my eyes on the lioness, staying silent but mentally going over the situation in my head. If it came down to it I would choose the girl but surely there was a way to save them both.. right? I stay calm on the outside but am internally freaking out. I step aside from the man and edge closer to the girl. "Alright. Just don't harm her..." She had a lot longer of a life didn't she? This man had at least had a chance at life.

The lioness smiled. Finally, she would take down the grand master. She had never liked him anyway. Let this tiger live. She had done nothing wrong.

The lioness waited as Ivory moved aside. She got ready to pounce.

Suddenly, the owner stood up. His face no longer showed any fear. He said some unintelligible words under his breath and threw an orb of blue energy at the lioness. The blue light danced around the giant cat and lifted her into the air. The lioness clawed at the air, helpless. Free from her grasp, the white haired child ran away.

"What? What have you done to me, grand master?"

The boss was very serious. "What have I done? Look at what you've done. You threatened me, my employees, and my customers. How dare you! And all this is because I wouldn't let you turn everyone into animals so you could play jungle? You're a disgrace to us all."

The grand master started chanting and moving his arms around in wide circles. An orange energy started to spin around the lioness.

"I'm going to send you to another world. One very far away from here,where you can't hurt anything or anyone."

The lioness screamed and looked to Ivory. "Help me. Save me."

My hackles raised and I looked back and forth between the two.

Grand master? Another world? Was that supposed to mean another planet or another dimension? Or did he mean something different all together?

If it was another planet I could relate, after all I was from another planet. A alternate dimension however, well I had heard they existed but had never seen one or been in one. And how would he get her to either? Well he obviously had magic so I can only assume that's what he would use to send her away.

My tail lashes behind me in confusion. I don't know what to do. The man had not seemed like he understood what was happening earlier. Could it be an alter-ego like Ivana was for me or was he acting? As for the lioness from what I heard she had wanted to practically rule Earth so maybe it was safer for her somewhere else.

I look to the man who she kept calling "Grand Master" and studied the lioness. "Will she be harmed on in this "other world?"" If she was not to be harmed and could not harm others than that is where she should be. Like a prison. Though I would rather her not be harmed if that is what it came down to she obviously had plans to harm my new planet and I couldn't let that happen. This was my new home and if someone is to threaten it I will protect it.

I study the Grand Master. This man was obviously powerful, does that mean he is a threat? I hope not, but it was unlikely considering he didn't seem to want to harm me, and was protecting the planet from this girl.

Speaking of girl... I look around to make sure she got to safety and not seeing her anywhere I nod. At least I saved her even if I couldn't save the lioness. I sit back on my haunches and nod to this Grand Master man. I would let him send her away.

"She'll be fine," the grand master said. In a flash, the lioness disappeared and her screaming ceased.

The owner sighed. "Well, that happened. Thanks for saving my life there, Ivory. Oh man. We have to clean this mess up."

The boss didn't seem surprised or concerned that his employee was a tiger. He was more concerned with cleaning up spilled drinks and moving tables back into place.

The white haired girl had been hiding, and now walked up to Ivory. She was shaking. "I'm sorry, " Charity said. "I was just trying to help but I just got in the way. I wish I was a good fighter like you."

I shift back to my human form, taking a little more time with the transition to rest some. "It's ok sweet heart. You were very brave and I'm sure when you get older if you want you could grow to be much better than me." I smile down at her before turning to my boss. "I'm just glad I could help. I can give you a hand in cleaning up if you'd like." I look around at the upturned tables and broken glasses.

The girl smiled and turned to find her parents. She was still a kid, and her day of being a cool, strong teenager would come.

The boss kept working, just like it was any other day. He nodded when Ivory offered to help. "That's what I pay you for." A few seconds of silence passed. He never took his eyes off his work, and he never stopped working. "Listen, Ivory. Don't tell anyone what happened here tonight, okay? It's a big deal. Of course, your secret is safe with me, too."
