A little misunderstanding (open!)

33 days.

33 days!

That's how long Kira had been cooped up on the container ship as it sailed her restless booty across the Pacific ocean. Over a month trapped on a floating pile of rust, with nothing to do but run laps around the deck. She couldn't go swimming, her massive weight ensuring a quick death by drowning in a matter of seconds. She couldn't roughhouse with the crew as they were either working, sleeping, drinking, or just too fragile. All the little Titan hopeful could do was take herself for monotonous walks.

The crew was more than a tad surprised the first time she went wolfy on deck. But as the weeks passed, they got used to seeing the horse-sized wolf thundering along the prow. And, as the USA drew closer, a shiny dented path etched itself permanently into the metal floor. A caved in gutter for the Captain to show off to future crew as evidence of their most unusual of guests.

The instant land peaked over the horizon, Kira was front and centre on deck ala-Titanic Leonardo DeCaprio style. Perched right at the tip of the ship, and positively bouncing with delight. The tiny wolf girl could not contain herself. The moment they were close enough, she shifted into her massive Wolf form, and leapt the last 100 meters to shore. A large dent now adorning the bow of the ship, and a matching twin becoming etched into the cracked pavement upon her touchdown.

Her senses were in overload. Jump City was filled with thousands of new scents. Cars, docks, food, rubbish, and people. So many people! Kira hadn't spent much time in a city before, and the sheer size of this place amazed her. Turning her massive maw up to the sky, Kira sniffed the afternoon breeze, then let out a snort of surprise. There were loads of people in Jump City, and she kind of expected that. But what she hadn't expected was there to be so many scents that were human, with a hint of something else.  

Kira exposed her teeth in what can only described as a wolfy grin, threw back her head, and howled in delight, before galloping off down the main street to explore her new home town.

Unfortunately for Kira, her howl of delight came out sounding more like a deafening roar, that chilled the spine of everyone in a 10 block radius. Plus her sea legs, and over excited tail wagging, meant that nearly every car she powered past with all the grace of an elephant wearing a ute as a party hat, got violently swatted aside.  

So whilst Kira went on her victory sprint downtown, hyped up by new cities, new smells, and solid ground. News broke across Jump of a giant monster wolf causing mass carnage. Looks like little Kira would be running into the heroes of Jump quite a bit sooner than she thought.

Kane stood atop the highest point of the highest building in the city, looking out over the city, planning out his patrol route. He did this before every patrol, and today was no exception. Once he decided where he was going, he jumped off the building, falling several dozen metres. Once he was just a few seconds away from being a splat on the pavement, he violently kicked against the air, killing all of his downwards momentum and going side-ways. He then landed safely and prepared to go, everyone that saw him cheered, with the exception of a single voice that came from a megaphone.

Kane went over to the source of the voice, a concerned policeman Kicker! Please help! There's a monster running around the city! It's a giant dog or something! It's heading towards main street! Kane grinned Not to worry, animal control is on the way! One of the bystanders yelled out He's made a lame joke, that means he's ready to go! Kane just laughed dryly, then jumped into the air and shot off.

Kane went over to main street and kept an ear out, hearing loud pounding sounds a block away. Kane moved diagonally, intercepting Kira as she was bounding down the street. He jumped up and planted his foot on her snout and pushed, aiming to stop her momentum, but not aiming to hurt it. For all Kane knew, it was just like any over-excited dog, only larger.
