| As she went back to the burnt shuttle, Hotwire said there wasn't anything alive on the shuttle. "If you look at me you won't detect life, this could be something beyond us." She explained while returning to the ship. When she got inside she proceeded with caution, knowing that something could be aboard the ship, besides the passengers of course. She went through the halls and towards the front where she found an unconscious astronaut in full gear, except this time part of his suit was charred on his chest. The gem didn't question it, if she felt like investigating it would be after she got all the people off board.
It didn't take long to find the final person, and when she did, she went to the end and back towards the shuttle and put them safely down. "Hotwire, why don't I throw the other shuttle back farther into space, what if there is something in there? We cant just let it loose on Earth."

| Hotwire looked down at the shuttle as it began to burn on reentry. "Don't bother. That thing's about to blow. There's still plenty of carhydride fuel on board." He said piloting the ship to a safe distance. "Adjusting suborbital trajectory for Cape Canaveral."
If they looked down, they would watch as the shuttle began to break up, splitting in two. Before the pieces could drift apart, the whole thing was enveloped in a fireball. The fireball expanded out into the vacuum of space, becoming less and less concentrated. When it faded, there was nothing left. No evidence at all that anything had even been there.
All of this happened without sound. After all, in space nobody can hear your ship blowing up.

| The shuttle burned up and got sucked into the vacuum of space, far away from all of them. Garnet turned her attention to the astronauts and took off their helmets, allowing them fresh air. Well, as fresh as rocket ship air can get. The gem would sit down and lean against the wall, ready to tend to the people if they needed it. She would unsummon her gauntlets and crack her knuckles, thinking about the scorch mark. "Hotwire, how do we know that whatever happened to that that ship wont happen to us?" She asked him, thinking about the fact that they are near the very spot that they got attacked in. Could that thing happen to them? | |

| "Because we should be re-entering the earths atmosphere in about 45 seconds. I'm detecting no sources of solar radiation on scanners, and given the range, it would take a good 3 minutes for any detected solar radiation to hit us." He said.
True to his word, about 50 seconds later, the red hot glow of reentry surrounded the T-Ship. A little bit after that, it would fade and the ship would buffet a little. "Just some turbulence. Nothing to worry about."

| Garnet was hesitant, but decided to trust him. In her long life time Garnet learned to trust herself and to not rely on people because they will let you down, so joining the Titans was a huge step for her. She usually led people, she wasn't really apart of a team that followed. Again, this was a new experience for her... for them... "Okay... so where are we taking the passengers?" | |

| "Cape Canaveral. That's where the shuttle was supposed to land. In fact, it was on the proper trajectory for reentry anyways, just as we are. Just happens the shuttle burned up." He said fiddling with the controls and then pulling up the Coms. "This is Hotwire calling the Kennedy Space Center. We have entered atmosphere, and have successfully retrieved all astronauts."
Meanwhile, in the back, on of the astronauts, a young man was still horribly shaken. But it wasn't the fact he almost died that had shaken him. No. No it was something else.
"We should have died... we shouldn't have made it out... we don't deserve..." He muttered under his breath. He couldn't let the titans hear it. Hell, he couldn't let his own crewmates hear it.

| So they were going to land at some Kennedy place and drop these guys off, it all seemed a little too easy and Garnet was still suspicious about the entire situation. She was trying hard to accept it all, but these pieces didn't seem to fit in place properly. However, on the outside she showed no emotion, she always had a blank face. After a few more moments of silence, one of the spacemen would speak up, murmuring something about not deserving to be alive or something, then trailing off. The Ruby side of her wanted to jump out and scream, however the Sapphire side of her reeled her in. "You heard that too.. right?" | |
