Naomi quickly shook her head, dismissing the thought that he had hugged too hard. Then watched with affection as Titus decided to give Dax a chance. Ugh. Why did she have a soft spot for kids? You think she would know better after a while. But no, she just kept giving in.

Titus nods as his new sisters reassurance, smiling, then abruptly yawns, settling into a light doze,still holding Dax's hand. All the new things and excitement had worn him out. Meanwhile, in a different room of the Daemon complex, two scientists/doctors were checking over their equipment." So, Brickers, you heard?" The other nods." Yes, Bracken, those two kids had a spar...yet again." Bracken shakes his head." No...well,yes. But they were apparently deciding the fate of a new recruit. Young,but he seems to have rather avanced prothestics." " Hmmm...no doubt King Kong will want this checked out when he's up and about." " indeed. We'll need to make sure the scanner is ready." Realizing what Brickers called Dax, they share a hooting chortle, getting back to work.

Naomi watched Titus fall asleep. Just like his age, he was still young enough to run around all day and then sack out at night. As he embraced the middle years of his teenage age Naomi had no doubt Titus would battle with insomnia at least once or twice. All of us had phases. Even still, it was odd to see a physically older body while Titus exhibited the mind of a much, much younger child. 'He must have been extremely isolated.' Naomi realized. It accounted for his lack of social wariness.

Once Titus had truly fallen asleep and Naomi situated him on another medical bed so that the kid didn't fall over and die in his sleep, Naomi secured the padlock with Leela's special code and then set the rabbit out with a command to guard. Everybody wanted a taste of fresh meat. Nobody cracked Leela's codes, so they were safe. Mind you, it wasn't because the scientists couldn't even though it would be extremely difficult to deal with foreign patterns. It was because no one wanted to face the consequence's of breaking Leela. Everyone knew the rabbit was special to Naomi even if they didn't know why.

She sighed for what seemed the millionth time that day. It had been an exhausting sixteen hours. Naomi continued down to hallway, receiving more slaps on the back and a few questions as to why she wasn't leader if she could beat Dax. Obviously they knew nothing of leadership if those recruits thought it was all about fighting. Naomi was nowhere near the cut to be a leader. Finally she reached her room, locked it with a different set of codes, and settled down for the night.

Titus rolls over slightly in the bed, snorting slightly, then yawns again, drifting off to dreamland..

He walks along a road, his hands gripping something round... Hearing crackling and groaning, he looks up, seeing squares tumbling at him...

He sits straightt up,gasping and glancing around rapidly." Master....Handler?" Then, the geared realizes where he was, and breaths out, smiling." Oh,,.." By this time, it was morning. He gets off the bed, approaching the door and examining the lock, then shrugs, giving up and wandering around the room. The boy then sits down, waiting.

Dax was pounding on Naomi's door. The girl just would NOT wake up. Seriously she slept like a bear. He sighed. What were they going to do with the fresh meat? It was too early to trust him enough to put him on missions, and he had a feeling the kid wasn't going to be a good information pump. Dang it this was all her responsibility anyways, she was the one who brought the freaking kid to their base! Dax kicked the wall muttering, but saw no other choice than to go back to the medical bay and attend to the kid before some jerk brawler decided to test the fresh meat. Once in front of the door Dax knocked on the door.

"Leela? Let me in please?"

The small light pink rabbit hopped out from its hiding place under one of the tables, shifted its eyes to look up at Titus and then continued to hop to the door. The head craned up and then shot a laser at the lock pad next to the door. It fizzled and exploded, making a tiny 'pop!' Leela chirped. It sounded suspiciously like laughter. Dax cursed but entered the room anyways. So this was the special update Naomi had talked about? A likely small fortune in all the security locks she was going to break? But it did pose a very solid point in her argument over their weak security...

Dax sighed and let it go. One thing at a time, one thing at a time. First...he looked over at Titus. He might as well give the kid a chance. Looking back on it, this was the first thing Naomi had ever asked for, in her unconventional way of asking. He plopped down on a chair next to the kid.

"Titus...right?"

Titus looks up as he hears a knocking and Dax's  voice asking Leela to let him. The boy tilts his head as the rabbit appears from beneath a table, hopping over to the door and zapping it open. The big man enters, coming over and sitting down near him. When asked if his name was Titus,he nods,tilting his head curiously.

Dax shifted uncomfortably and shuffled his feet. Brutes, brawlers, fighter, teenagers- heck even mother in laws he could talk to, but kids? No. Dax was terrible with kids.

"I, uh, got your name from Leela's, she's the rabbit, list of allies. It's a good name..." Where was he going with this exactly?

Titus blinks, furrowing his brow as he sees Dax uncomfortable. When told that's a good name, he nods, smiling shyly." Thank you...." He bites his lip, then says" Naomi says she's my sister..And you're my brother...." He holds up his hand, waggling his fingers as the metal moves just like natural skin." Are you like me?"

Dax stared fixated at Titus's fingers. That was...nothing he had ever seen before. Naomi was still asleep right? He hoped so. This was something he wanted to investigate right now.

"How about we take you to the lab and find out kid. They're going to scan you, make sure you got good bones. And then if your fit, we'll start training you to fight."

Titus blinks, getting off the chair and nodding."O-okay...." He looked up at the big guy,examining him.He'd seen as he had let out blasts from his palms, seen the nozzles.But, Dad didn't seem quite like him. He hadn't gotten rid of the nozzles like Titus can with his buster....Either way, the young geared knew he could trust him. Naomi said so, right?Letting out a grin up at the big guy, he stands by the door.

Dax reared back in shock a little bit when Titus gave a full cheeky grin to him. The kid didn't actually trust him right? Because if he did, that would make Dax feel obligated to ensure the boys comfort and that hindered his ability to make decision as leader if Titus posed a threat. Stupid gushy heart, stop melting! Dax chided. He nearly got his head lopped off the last time he took in a Ripper. Still as they arrived at the lab Dax felt an odd protective surge over Titus ready to rumble if the scientists got too gruesome with their inquiries and tests.

"Hey Thing 1 and Thing 2, ready to run some scans on the new blood?"

The two doctors look at each other,blinkingr." I do believe he called us things, Bricker.Quite interesting." " Indeed so, Bracken. Especially as he's young enough to turn over our knees. One would think he would know to show respect to his elders." " Quite, Bricker. It appears he's gotten big for his britches." "Bracken, I propose the theory that he's big for anyone's britches." "Indeed so, Bricker. That's a perfectly acceptable theory!" They share a hooting chortle. Titus,hearing this exchange. Can't help but laugh softly,and the two look at him." Aaah, and heres the young one himself! Come along, then!" They gently guide him over to a scanning booth, smiling reassuringly as he steps inside nervously." It'll be alright..Well be done quite soon, and you won't feel avthing." Brickers presses a button to close the door, and watches a holographic display that pops up. Soon,its over," hmmm...well, all looks nor-eh?!" He takes a closer look, his eyes bugging." Bracken, come see!" Bracken looks over his friends shoulder, his jaw dropping," how?" Bricker shakes his head, pressing a button and letting the boy out. Titus looks at them,sensing the agitation, and furrows his brow." Is everything alright?" Bracken smiles reassuringly." Everything's fine...now,while Mr. Bricker has a chat with Dax there, how about some root beer?" Titus blinks."Root Bear?" The scientist narrows his eyes,examining the young geared." I see...so that's what they did..." He nods, guiding Titus over to a table and grabbing some soda from a minifridge." Yes...I'm sure you'll like it!" Opening it,he chortles at Titus's surprised and pleased face as he tries it?" Bubbly!" Meanwhile, Bricker paces in front of Tax,running his hands through his grey hair. Calming down,he looks at the leader,reporting." At first..heb looks normal,though there's signs of trauma. But, he has synthetic organs. And not like regular cyborgs. These appear..grown, living metal! Through Hus body is matter projectors, I'm assuming to form armor so Hus body can protect itself from further harm. His false limbs are pure, concentrated..whatever this is. From my scans, one can assume he can adapt at a accelerated pace..He may have been human once, but now its like he's the perfect,and I do mean perfect, melding between man and machine. His prothestics are as much a part of him as my arms are of me, not merely attached and wired to nerves."

Dax patiently out-waited the two old scientists satirical banter. This was why he called them Thing 1 and Thing 2. They acted like characters Dr. Suess would have wrote after he got old and grouchy. He crossed his arms, waiting for the examination to end. The lab made his skin crawl, all machines and codes and things he didn't understand. Naomi was fine in a lab he knew, and on the field too. Was there anywhere she hated? Then again Naomi never showed and fondness either. Until Titus that is. It's almost like she adopted the young Ripper in place of Mi- oh no. That would not work in this organization. Dax gritted his teeth. Naomi was going to get both herself and Titus killed if she started to think like that. It was just on more thing to address on his growing list of problems.

When finally the examination was over and the verdict reached Dax wanted to breathe out a sigh of relief. At least until one of the scientists came over looking like someone had dropped a cockroach down his pants. This wasn't going to be good. He waited out the explanation, rolling some thoughts around in his head and proccessing all the information that was given to him.

"Okay. So what does all this mean and why do I have to care? Extraordinary yes. But that sort of publicity falls to the Hunters not the Daemons. We're more the assassinating a sleeping king in his bed type."

Very well, if we must think practically, since youre not astounded at the thought of a new race of being..Ability to adapt, form armor..and no doubt that hand can transform into a powerful weapon.Add that to the strength his limbs give him, and he can be quite a asset, with refinement. Add that to the responibilty we have to make sure he and his abilities aren't misused and abused and well..You can see, I trust?"

Dax sighed. It sounded like just about every member the Daemons had. Dangerous...unique....ultimate doom if they fell into the wrong hands. Naomi found another just like her. And Dax had one just like him. Maybe it was an adopted family trait? Well not like he couldn't back out now.

Dax rubbed the back of his head and shot a glance over to Titus. "Well just keep me updated I guess. We can't get rid of him now. Naomi would kill me for it, especially since we fought."
