The Story
A lot has happened since the Vanishing. New heroes and villains have finally arisen, using their powers to fight, either for justice or for their own personal goals.
But now, a new threat has arrived. They call themselves the Zydon, and they come from beyond the stars. As their space ships orbit around Earth, they make their intentions known.
Long ago, the Zydon intercepted a space probe from Earth. At first, they were excited to receive the 'gift' inside, a sample of some very interesting human cells that never aged. Believing they now held the secret to immortality, the Zydon experimented with these cells, but it had disastrous effects. The cells caused a pandemic, killing millions.
Although they were unsure whether the pandemic had been the actual intent of the humans, the Zydon decided that humanity was too much of a threat. They have therefore arrived at Earth with the intent of wiping out the human race.
Of course, that is easier said than done. The United Nations Military has suffered defeat at the hands of many alien invasions, and this time they aren't going down without a fight. New technology has provided Earth with the means to keep the war basically at a standstill. As it stands, several Zydon ships still orbit Earth. The good news is that they can't make use of their ship's weaponry while their shields are up. The bad news: their shields are, at least for the foreseeable future, invincible. It looks like the Zydon are here to stay, and it will fall on both the heroes and villains of Jump City to protect what they hold dear against this new threat.
Battles will be fought. Enemies will become temporary allies. Some will betray the human race, and even some of the Zydon will betray their own.
The Zydon
The Zydon look like humans, although their skin, hair, and eye colors tend to vary a bit more. There is one trait that all Zydon have, though: they have a glowing emblem on the backs of their hands. This makes infiltrating places on earth difficult, since someone can just ask you to prove you're human by taking your gloves off. This glowing emblem is the result of the genetic engineering meant to 'perfect' their race. Civilian Zydon usually have no powers, but are naturally in peak physical condition.
One unique fact about the Zydon: they were completely unaffected by the Vanishing. The reasons for this are unknown.
There are three main types of Zydon warriors that you will encounter.
-The Brave-Zydon who have been specifically engineered to be soldiers. The typical Zydon Brave has the strength to lift 5 tons. They are turned into cyborgs over the course of their childhood, gaining a jetpack with a maximum speed of 100 miles per hour, armor that can defend against 5 tons of pressure, and a powerful laser gun.
-The Elect- Zydon who have been granted psionic abilities thanks to genetic engineering. Normal Zydon Elect have the power of levitation (maximum flight speed is 100 miles per hour), as well as being able to produce simple jets of fire and beams of freezing ice.
-The Covert-Zydon spies, assassins, and bodyguards. The Covert have the power to turn invisible, but only while they hold their breath. They can also move silently and are highly skilled in melee combat.
