Control: Anyone who wants a Halloween themed somtimes Major Villain for the holidays and for other spooky storylines

The old tale of The Hollowman, is one that has been told to residents of Jump City for centuries to make sure kids behaved around Halloween time. The fable that has been handed down has changed from time to time, but the basis of the story stay the same:

"There was once a traveling Magician known as Fredrick the third. Fredrick used to love to entertain children with his tricks and was well known around the townsfolk. One day he showed a boy a trick where he swallowed a torch and when he pulled it back out of his mouth, it was instead a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The young lad wanting to attempt this trick himself, returned home and swallowed a stick he set on fire. Later dieing of an infection he received from the third degree burns in his sarcophagus. The townspeople blamed Fredrick for this and decided to exact justice by imprisoning, beating, torturing and finally hanging him for the boys death. In his last moments, Fredrick cursed the towns folk and vowed to wreak havoc on their kin for an eternity. After which time his remains were burned and the whole matter was forgotten, but the tale lived on. Unbeknown to the people of the small town, however, to keep on his promise he said a dark incantation before his death. The spell sold his soul to demonic forces, who would keep him from moving on until he could be reborn again. Whenever that may be...Though sometimes it is said the Dark Magician will rise during full and crescent moons, as well a eclipses, to terrorize young ones in their sleep."

Fast forward to just a few weeks ago. A bunch of sorority boys who had decided to buy a book of the dark arts from a thrift store and collected all the necessary ingredients for a summoning of the dead. The group deciding to choose the Hollowman as the being they wanted to call upon. As they proceeded with the ritual, they all thought it wouldn't work and it was jut a joke, but soon after they completed the incantation they would start to realize what they had brought upon themselves. The ground began to rumble and split open, followed by a moldy dead hand bellowing out from the pit of the Earth. Then after it coming an old decayed corpse of a human being, the screams of all those in attendance could be heard for miles, but by the time the police got there all that was left was the book itself. The day after the incident a missing persons report was made for the college boys, none of them ever having been heard from since.

Powers:
-Ominous Fog: The Hollowman travels through a dreary fog that seems to suddenly just roll in out of nowhere. The silhouette of his corpse is eerily visible in it at first glance and then within moments he will just glide out of it, ready to do his evil bidding. This is the calling card of The Dark Magician and lets everyone in attendance know of his arrival. Though it is to be noted, he cannot just appear in rooms or bypass locked doors and disappear from confines with this ability and is solely just his way of coming and going.

-Conjuring/Summoning: Fredrick can summon any assortment of evil themed decayed being or artifact. Though this power varies based on the environment he's in. For example;

A) If in the presence of a Church or the Pope. He cannot conjure anything that can hurt or endanger anyone, merely create images to shock or scare. During the the day or on a religious holiday like Christmas or Easter, his summoning is limited to non living things such as Scythes and giant pumpkins or floating broomsticks.

B) Though at times where dark magic is at it's best, like in a cemetery and during the full/crescent moon or eclipse. His powers begin to escalate to being able to summon demons like gargoyles and mythical creatures to do his bidding. While on the highest days of all evil, such as Friday The 13th, Halloween and The Day of the Dead and 6/6/06. He will be able to raise armies of the dead, as well as raise other dark beings like Dragons, Goblins and Vampires. Each with standard abilities and weaknesses. Like Vampires can only suck blood, turn into bats and are burned by garlic. (Not any of that other Twilight stuff.)

C) Normally though, when his powers are not augmented like at night. He can summon things like bats, eye balls, leeches, toads, black cats, little trolls, and an occasional zombie or two.

B > A > C <---- Meaning the things mentioned on B will trump A, such as being in front of a Nun on The Day of the Dead (Though it will still weaken him somewhat) and the things mentioned on A will trump C, such as holding up a cross to him at night.

-Fear Manifestation: This power is fueled solely by your own fears, meaning the more afraid you are, the more powerful the abilities of the fear he reenacts will be will be. In accordance to his summoning power; if you lock eyes with The Hollowman, he has the ability to peer into your soul and see your deepest darkest fear and make it come to life! This ability goes on until either he dispells it, or until you overcome the fear. Though this ability is still in accordance to his other powers and can be weakened and/or strengthened.

During a normal situation (Type C). He can manifest himself into the the thing you're afraid of, such as a fire breathing dragon and gain it's abilities, but the extent of how long he can fly for and how large the flames are. Are again based on if you're just really scared of dragons or if they terrify you. (Your fear feeds him and makes him stronger) This will not work with environmental fears though, like being trapped in an elevator or being afraid of the dark. The thing he turns into also can be seen and effect everybody else involved, though their fear will not strengthen him.

In a (Type A) situation, he is reduced to only being able to produce images of the thing you fear into your mind. Though image summonings of your greatest fears can be environmental as well. Meaning if you look into his eyes, the image he presents to you can be you stuck in an elevator, but you can get out of image fears fairly easily by just realizing it's not real or getting out/over it. Image conjuring cannot physically harm you in anyway and only effects the one he locked eyes with. This fear also does not immobilize you, if attacked or touched in this state you will be brought back to reality. So he usually tends to leave the people he has in this state alone, as so he can feed off the fear they're experiencing. This can also be utilized in C situations.

Lastly, on the days where Fredrick reaches his most powerful. (Type B) He can really bring your worst fears to life, such as if you're afraid of drowning. A small tsunami will magically come up from the sewers and wash you and Co. away. Or if you're claustrophobic, four walls can raise up from the ground and begin to enclose around you. If you're afraid of a loved one betraying you, he can create an exact replica of said person from your own memory and have them attack you. During this situation, he no longer has to lock eyes with you to conjure your fears, just being near you will show him your fears.

Weakness:
-Can be harmed by white/good magic sense he is purely evil/dark magic.

-Powers cannot peak around the day time, religious items such as bibles and crosses or during holy holidays and also have less effect on those wearing religious symbols

-Overcoming your fears weakens his magic.

-Has no fighting ability at all

-Must say spells to use his powers, which takes precious seconds during a fight.

Likes: Frightening children, Graveyards, Halloween, The Day Of The Dead, Anything superstitious or having to do with demonic/dark magic, The Moon

Dislikes: Christmas, All Souls Day, Anything Holy, Day Time, Those without fear, Living organisms in general

Equipment: An enchanted sack that carries an unknown supply of dark mystic items. A Pumpkin with a mind of it's own and also shows mystic traits.

Habits/Quirks: Speaks in a raspy tone of voice that feels like nails on a chalk board, tries to frighten all those who see him and tends to shy away from those who don't, which explains why he loves to pick on children.

Personality: The Hollowman unlike most villains only has one goal in mind, to feed constantly on the fear of others. Their fears, screams and anxiety is like a special treat to him and he loves it. He is always in a grim mood and is missing his heart, so don't expect him to show mercy.

Place of Origin: Exact location is unknown, but the folktale specifies him living around the 1800's.

Quote :: OT: I know his powers might seem very powerful Type B situations but seeing as those dayss are rare and the mother of all evil days it fits and this shouldn't be a problem since they'll only be like that maybe once or twice during the year. Also he won't be attacking every holiday, but if they are still too powerful I will tone them down. I am open to any suggestions on this character and hope I will receive some feedback on him.

Ok thanks, if it's allowed I'd love to make more. Though I think I'll be using the first three I have made first and then come up with more NPCs.
