-Highly trained fighter.
Frank's skills range in everything from simple self-defense classes that you can take at a community center to advanced Marine corps fighting to some of the most dangerous fighting styles known to man. Simply put killing a man with his bare hands is something Frank has done on numerous occasions. Frank is also great at using his surroundings in a fight. This means that he see's the entire room as a weapon upon entering it. He's also very versed in knife combat, and can fence on an Olympian athletes level. Most of theses skills were acquired in the army, but some were just picked up while on campaign's across the world.

-Marksmanship
You don't get to be a Green Beret by not being able to hit the side of a barn... Frank's skill with a firearm is only matched by his alcohol tolerance level. He can hit almost any target no matter the situation. His eyesight is 20/20, and the target is in the guns range it's in Smile's range.

He's one of those people that doesn't handle temptation well especially when it comes to drinking... One can will turn into two, two will turn to five, and five will lead to a dreadful morning.

Personality:
Frank can come off as anti-social, mean spirited, and full of himself... All of witch are true... Though he used to be outgoing, and patriotic all that's left in this broken man is a rage that can't be tamed. He's also extremely arrogant in his actions, and extremely over confident. Overall though he's very cold and calculating, but will interject little bits of comedy (usually dark) here and there. His views on the world are also very disturbing. He believes that humanity itself is evil and has generally expressed great hate for it, and that in the end its all a joke.

History:
Frank's mother was a hippy... His father a solider in serving in Vietnam on leave... They met when she still lived in New York, and had a one night fling. The next morning he shipped out, and two months later she went to San Francisco for "The summer of love". After that summer of drugs, sex, and all out hippy fun she decided to stay on the bay area. One cold December night she was walking home from the market, and suddenly started to have stomach pains, but ignored it. She then started to walk down the alley that lead to her apartment, but suddenly collapsed from another wave of pain. A man heard her screaming,and rushed outside to help her. Him being an ex-surgeon from WWI knew exactly what to do. After six hours of exhaustion Frank was born though his mother wanted to believe otherwise. She denied even being pregnant in the first place, and said she had always used birth-control. The man gave her some sleeping pills, and labeled her hysterical. After the man had fallen asleep though she was able to get up, and sneak off into the night. The next morning the man awoke to a small crying infant in his living room. He had never had kid's and intended to keep it that way, so he gathered up some money, blankets, and a basket and dumped the boy at the city orphanage late that night. He was given the name Frank Thompson by the mother superior of the establishment, and was placed among the other children of the city.

Sixteen years later Frank has grown into some what of a hulking teenager. He is 179Lbs. of pure muscle, and stands at a staggering six foot five. He's been thrown on the street's by the orphanage who see the boy as nothing, but trouble due to his constant drinking, sexual mischief, gambling, drug use, and smoking. For the next two years of his life he works as a local street gang's enforcer, and delivers drug's to L.A. when needed to. This life style got him a car, house, and everything he could want, but after a huge bust on his gangs operations he needed a new outlet for cash, so Frank does the most sensible thing a high school drop-out with no documented credentials would do... He joins the Marine's! Right away Frank is thrown into combat, and unlike anything in his life (except being a criminal) Frank is perfect at it. His natural love for violence, fearlessness, and body-build make him a the closest one could get to being a super solider. He moves up quickly in the ranks, and earns the nick-name "Smile" from one of his commanding officers who was disgusted at how he kept a grin while exterminating a whole enemy camp of insurgents. He then started almost trademarking the name Smile. He wore a smiley-face button, painted a smiley-face on his helmet, and would even paint his face to look like one before battle. Almost like a sick joke style of war-paint.

After his first campaign around the world Frank came back to the States for some R&R, but upon arrival was stopped by two army officers. Frank saluted the two men out of instinct. They told him to calm down, and he asked with a grin "What can I do for you, sir's?". One of the men laughed, and the other but his arm around, Frank's back and told him "You've already done so much for us lieutenant... Let us do something for you... Cause we'er gonna make you famous!". After his leave was over Frank was taken to The Pentagon be shown "Project Smile". The government knew that the situation in the Middle East was bound to boil over soon, and were determined to keep that region under control for the oil. The only problem was America was still reeling from the Vietnam war, and weren't likely to trust the armed forces just yet. That's were Frank came in! With his natural look's charisma, and fighting spirit he was sure to win back the American public. At age 21 Frank was taken to the first State Of The Union speech held by George H. W. Bush, and introduced as Smile! He immediately won over the media, government, and overall the public. The geniuses at The Pentagon had created a plan that couldn't fail

And fail it did not...

The first Bush administrations approval ratting's went through the roof, and the Army, Navy, and Marine recruiting stations were flooded with young men ready to give there lives for the country. Smile was everywhere from billboards, to television, to add campaigns, hell he even had a G.I. Joe made after him, and everybody had smiley-face buttons. Though this big shot life took him by storm in no way did he leave his old way's. He was still on the battlefield every chance he got, and in his free time he worked as a covert assassin for several of the first Bush administrations members. He became some-what of an American-staple, and it seemed like there was no going away for him. In the year 1990 Frank met the woman of his dreams. They then quickly married, and Frank went into a year long retirement. Together the couple were happy and Frank seemed to want to give up his life as Smile. Then came the Gulf War... Most of the people at the Pentagon were worried that this could destroy the Smile persona because of the violence that was going to ensue in this war, but it didn't... In fact everybody gave support to the troops that had been unseen since WWII after they found out he was going to be fighting. After the war, Smile became more politically active, and in Bill Clinton's first campaign add for presidency you can guess who was shaking his hand... That's right it was Frank! He helped, Bill get the American public back on a democratic vote. After Bill Clinton was inaugurated, Frank received news of his wife's pregnancy and quickly reconsidered his place and started to think about retiring for good this time. However the situation in Somalia was growing worse and Frank decided to make this his last mission. Smile was taken to Somalia as part of the effort's there, and then it happened... Frank received news that his wife and son had died during the delivery. This destroyed Frank, and caused him to lose control. That night he suck out and massacred a small village of people. Men, women, and children were all slaughtered at his hands this following Franks hand in the military failure known as the Battle of Mogadishu led to a discharge, but no court marshals were ever issued. And, after that the American public turned it's back on Smile...

Though there was no point to it massive cover ups still ensued. Frank was ousted by everyone, and was forced to fake his death. It was said Frank was killed in Eschede train disaster while en route back to the states. Nobody seemed to care. Thousands of smiley-face buttons were thrown out, and Smile was ultamitly forgotten by all the hype for the then new millineum. Frank however was very alive, and very depressed. He took to drinking even more, and occasional narcotic use to ease his troubled mind. Eventually Smile was totally forgotten,and everything about him (pictures, video's, documents, Ect.) were destroyed by the government. Eventually the government contacted him and has been using him as an assassin ever since. However due to the recent "meta" related events in Jump he's been put there, and now heads Jump's first meta control agency.
