Powers: (be sure to read history for reference)
Portal Creation-
can create a pair of linking portals through the electrical impulses in his hands fused with dark magic. To create a portal, both an entrance and an exit must be made through hand-gesturing at a visualised area or mentally visualising a location (must be specific and not far enough to prove fatal). Ghost commonly uses these to dodge attacks, position himself in hard-to-reach spots, move an enemy or object and generally make travel a lot more fun.
Ghost Vision-
having a cursed soul comes in handy when it quite literally makes you look at things from a different perspective. On activation, Ghost's red eyes will glow and allow him to see an alternate spirit-world view of his surroundings. This can allow him to identify friend or foe. (similar to eagle vision--against a dark black background. Default/Neutrals glow white. Allies glow blue. Enemies glow red. Objects of interest glow gold) Used to spot things others cannot clearly notice.
Invisiblity-
What would a "ghost" be without being unseen? Unfortunately it does have it's drawbacks even when he is able to control it for a while, as although the nano-bots in his body will, upon reaction to some kind of hormone, refract light and make it appear as though he has faded away it will only affect things that can conduct the electrical impulses the nano-bots exert on the same wavelength.
Ghost only managed to apply this to the things on his person. A bag full of cash however...
Cybernetically Enhanced Respiration-
Coming back from the dead with a sweet new pair of lungs, Ghost can perform superhuman feats of endurance such as holding his breath for 14 mins, keep running/fighting for long periods of time and slowing his breathing down to a crawl.
Skills: Excellent problem/puzzle-solving ingenuity-
a side-effect of "thinking with portals" for so many years, this helps in getting past high security or, more in-fashion, solving difficult crimes.
Efficient in stealth-
Ghost has foiled his fair share of top-security measures. However, a full-front attack would be suicide as he can only withstand what the average teen can in having a 600 Ibs fist slam into your face. He much prefers to sneak around the enemy and surprise them with a his own brutal force .(not that he isn't well-built himself--just he prefers to land the punches!)
Adept parkour/free-runner-
able to scale walls or reach destination quickly to some degree without the use of portals.
Incredible stamina-
thanks to the nano-bots implanted into him and the repairs they made to his lungs and respiratory system, Ghost can manage to maintain average performance when using the minimal amount of his powers in combat/travel.
Weaknesses: Ghost Vision-
Using "Ghost Vision" causes immobilising headaches after prolonged use.
"Ghost Vision" will not enable the user to recognise allies/foes/important objects unless they already suspect as much.
Portals-
Hands must be exposed to create portals, and to place a portal in a remote area it must be mentally visualised.
Creating a single pair of linked portals is the equivalent of running 6 miles. Coupled with the drastic effects of how sudden the drop in his energy rate, Ghost needs to keep his energy levels up if he needs to use a vast amount of his powers otherwise he will pass out.
Invisibility-
Apart from the obvious tricks seen in films and sorts, ashamedly this is the only power Ghost can' seem to control. It seems to be trigged by special hormones which makes for embarrassing scenarios when blushing in front of a girl he finds attractive.
Also, like the classic formula made be a Mr. Griffin in one of his favourite books, only his body (and specially designed suit) can become invisible. Meaning that if you see a floating mug around Titan's Tower, you've got yourself a whole other kind of poltergeist.
Equipment: Holstered by his right hip, on his crossed belts like a gun or sword is a small tube that Ghost fills with all manner of sweets and chocolate junk food that he eats whenever his energy is really low. This sort of home-made 'PEZ' is only used as a last resort as the boost will only last a short while and burn up, leaving him in a dangerously near-faint condition.
Other objects can be attached to his belt, such as a Titan Communicator, small pouches e.t.c. when he is given them.
===SERIOUSLY? SURE YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT ME?===
Personality: Although Ghost comes across selfish and distrusting at first, it is because he doesn't see where he fits in within Jump City and being a hero. He has tried and failed multiple times in the past to play the hero and save the people he cares about, and makes an effort to hide his mistakes in fear of being ridiculed or rejected. Ghost acts responsible, looking after his little sister when his father was out working. He often makes witty remarks to lighten the mood, and keeps as calm and collected as possible in tense situations.
Strengths: Ghost's sharp wit and calm determination drive him to achieve his goals. Although he is not physically tough to withstand long in a hand-to-hand combat, his willpower exceeds nearly any force thrown at him.
Interests/Habits: He often fiddles around with a Rubix Cube, constantly solving, re-scrambling and solving again until he's bored or called upon.
He's a big fan of Sherlock Holmes, the great detective and will read many mystery novels or watch crime dramas whilst guessing halfway-through who the perpetrator is (and usually right...at least 89% of the time)
Ghost is heavily conflicted about his past and the harmful potential his powers can and
have caused people, so when he feels distraught he will find somewhere quiet (sometimes at high vantage points over the city) to sit and find inner peace as the monks in Tibet had shown him. "Meditating" or whatever they called it.
==="WHERE DO YOU COME FROM", YOU ASK?===
Family Members: Father, Little sister
Place of Origin: New London, England
Current City: Jump City
History: Casper grew up in the big, coastal city of New England just off from London itself. His father had moved there to find work as a commanding chief of the police squad, taking Casper and his little sister along. Although his father believed in starting fresh in a new city, Casper was finding it hard to cope moving away from his friends and the resting place of his mother who had died in a car accident last year.
Leading experts in nanotechnology had tried to use nano-bots to develop bionic organs that would replace those damaged, but the operation failed due to the common error of the still-living cells rejecting the new implants.
Still, Casper's family had never given up hope that if the technology was more advanced, then his mother might have lived.
A few years later, this was put to the test again once Capser himself was shot in the crossfire of rival gangs that his father had been working against in his case. He was dead before they had even finished injecting the nano-bots to do their work and repair his heart and pierced lungs. His family had almost given up hope, when suddenly he sat bolt upright on the operating table and gasped desperately loudly for air as though he'd been drowning. In that instant, his hair blackened and eyes glowed red. Strands of his black-stained hair went white, as though he had been in terrible shock.
Then, a strange, other-worldly gas-like aura of deep purple surrounded his clenched hand. The cursed talisman he had stolen from the gangsters off the docks crumbled into dust in his hand. It had spared his life, just in time for his failed organs to be repaired...
...however, soon he started to develop side-effects to both the "curse" and the curious nano-bots infused with his blood. It wasn't before long he strived to learn how to control these powers, scaring his little sister with his odd appearance and new habits, even including his father. After resorting to robbery to fund his conductive suit, and failing at heroism when his family and new school friends were put in danger twice resulting in him either harming them instead.
So Casper, now under the guise of "Ghost Rift" inspired by the names what his classmates called him, and feeling rejected by everyone besides his now-alienated family,he packed his bag and left to travel the world in search of answers.
From learning parkour tricks from his visit to France and inner peace from the monks in Tibet, he heard word of more like himself with extraordinary powers in a town in America called Jump City.
Sample RP *Upon the scenario of meeting the Teen Titans*
Ghost sees a group of oddly-dressed teenagers race to the café he was just leaving.
They all stood around, poised for battle. But all he could see was some wacky magician preforming a street show outside.
He was pretty lame, so Ghost ignored him. These guys were way more interesting!"Yo! Erm...are you guys lost? I thought the comic book convention wasn't on 'till March?"
He calls out to the disgruntled-looking lot. What weird costumes, he thought. I mean that guy's even painted himself entirely green!"Hey! Gotta admit though, you guys seem to had gone all-out this year. 'Though er..."
he gestures to Raven "...you, in the hood, you actually look pretty cute
alongwiththeorangepaintedgirtoolIsupposebuty'know..."
He said, trailing off. Yeah, he though. She's kinda cute. Or maybe I just have a thing for dressed-up Goth nerd chicks that look really unamused with idea of cheesy, blue magicians? Man they are really eyeing up that magician! Is he really that bad?
