Plainclothes Day {Open to all!}

Enaliss was glad that Aaron didn't ruin her little prank, because he obviously knew which condiments were which. He looked as if he wanted to but then paused after her said "Um." and let her have her fun. She smiled sweetly at the girl as she explained that the man was lazy and nodded as if she understood. She watched the girl go with a slight smirk, missing the look of suspicion that crossed Aaron's face. When they were out of earshot, she turned back to Aaron with a mischievous smile. "She didn't know that I gave her the wrong condiments...who doesn't know what salt and vinegar is? Something's weird about her," she whispered hastily to Aaron, her tone more serious as she glanced quickly over at Pix who was discovering his woman companion's mistake.

She smiled at Aaron, blushing a little at her own joke before her attention was drawn abruptly away by Pix dragging Nix over to the table rather forcefully. She hadn't meant for the girl to get in trouble, just to find out what made her tic and if she knew what condiments were. According to the man who was now showing her condiments, she did not. "Teaching her toiletries? Why does she need to be taught something simple like that?" she inquired innocently, her senses detecting that this man was human but the woman was certainly still not. There was no usual scent of blood, sweat, skin, anything and she was sure that she either had to be an alien or a robot.

As soon as she had finished asking him about why he would need to teach toiletries, another person entered the scene and "accidentally" dumped his tray on the man's head. Enaliss gave an inward 'hoorah' for his actions, thinking that this demanding misogynistic man needed some putting into his place. She held in a laugh so as to keep the man's attention away from her, but she did smile a little. This newcomer was certainly a good actor. She gave him an encouraging smile and would have given him a thumbs up if she could have. Women, even robotic ones, were not to be treated as slaves. Just then, her sensitive nose picked up a faint burnt smell coming from the man and she tried not to show on her face that anything was up. Generally people who smelled burnt were not just normal citizens...

Aaron had no such tact when it came to laughing at the persons misfortune. He gave a rather loud snort. He would not hold back for such a low life that carted around this girl, how ever odd she may be, like a slave. Then he remembered where he was, and who he was. He recoiled at his own laugh, a sheepish look descending on his face as if apologizing. He slumped inward on himself, the same nervousness form before taking hold again. His fingers twitched itching to reach for his bag and the costume that was hidden within. If he was Crimson here, he wouldn't be so tense and feeling as exposed as he was. He quickly beat back the idea though, knowing it would cause him untold problems if he suddenly revealed himself to be an out of costume hero.

Instead, he merely gave a nod to the person who had spilled the soda on the jerk, showing his appreciation towards what the guy did.

Yelling? really? did he have to yell? Either way it looked like he wasn't going to let up. She stared at the ground as he kept throwing insults at her. Her face beginning to gain a silver tint. Was all this really just for getting the wrong condiments? He was risking their cover just to make her feel bad. While it was working, it was still immature. Then to bring others into it. That was simply embarrassing. He was gonna get them in trouble. But she didn't bother saying anything. not like he'd listen. It was his idea to even get her clothes in the first place. she couldn't help but think many, many mean things about the boy as she stood there. Not that she would ever say them, but she thought them, mainly how once she got back she was gonna finish making her singing lampshade. Just for him.

Then Nix felt a strong amount of energy nearby, it was refreshing. As stray energy flowed into her she couldn't help but sigh. Though she kept back a smile. That didn't last long though. As food was spilled all over Pix, she smiled. She barely kept back a laugh, quickly putting a hand over her mouth to hide how absolutely hilarious she thought this was. Nix could tell this was on purpose, turning from pix to the stranger she lowered her hand and mouthed "Thank you" to the stranger. This had made her day, though she would. No doubt, be in trouble later. It was worth it, she then rolled her eyes, turned back to Pix and asked "You okay?" obviously not concerned about him at all. If only her new friend had accidently dropped a truck

The girl had asked him to clarify the mention of toiletries. Pix was lost for words for a moment, “...You'd be surprised how many people miss the obvious. Like sarcasm.” Wow. She sounded like the type who took everything in advertisements at face value. The mall must have rolled out the red carpet for her.

Before he could drag Nix away again, a cold sensation descended from his back. Alarmed and confused, Pix turned to see some guy invading his personal space. He was at once certain that this had been no accident, “You-!” Okay. Irrespectively he could admit to taking a lesson too far. But they were nothing but words. He hadn't dumped vinegar atop of Nix's head. The escalation of events, from a stranger no less, annoyed Hugh.

Why did people always insist on playing the hero? That one chance at becoming a knight in shining armour. For some, such as the Titans, the euphoria of gratitude must have been intoxicating. Others, like Mr Whoopsadaisy here, probably did it to sleep at night. “I'm an abject failure at life. But at least I got a thank you today. Gosh I wish I had that hot dog now...”

Ultimately, Hugh didn't understand why other people had to get involved in business that wasn't their own. He guessed some souls just couldn't help it. Life had morals for them, they couldn't be laid back and carefree. An active stance against what got on their nerves. Fighting everyone's battles was impossible. It was a philosophy and an excuse as to why Pix would ignore similar injustices.

Strangely enough the guy handed over a small fortune in compensation. On a whim? Yikes. Hugh himself came from an upper-middle class family. Yet his father refused to provide for him. Some principle about making your own way in the world. For those fortunate enough, flaunting money must have been irresistible.

“Well insisted.” Pix slammed the money down on the table behind him in an effort to restrain his anger. Nix made a complimentary concerning query. He noticed that she was not at all aghast or affronted by this attack on her master. Actually... was she happy? That was the straw, “Fine. Go get me a napkin.” He flicked droplets of soda at the cluts, in case he had any more objections to his treatment of her, “But first,” He added under his breath, “sucker punch him.”

"Yeah, me." He snorted once in his general direction as he fished through his jacket to locate something very, very specific. "What do you want anyways? Oh wait, let me guess more slave work." By now, he was dropping the good guy routine, the heroic hassle. It did him no good at all, and he didn't like the whole politeness route it took him down. "Wait wait, let me guess, you make other people miserable..... because, wait wait, I got this, Your daddy touched you in the nay nay place?" That pseudo-smile faded, replaced by his trademark scowl. As he finally fished a cigarette from the pocket, Ethan harshly jammed it into his mouth with a grunt.

"But hey, it's not my business what kinda pseudo-incestuous business you and your daddy play at. Nor the mental damage you suffered. But that still doesn't excuse you for picking on someone." Seemingly not caring, or rather oblivious to the no-smoking sign nearby, Ethan pulled a small box of matches from the parallel pocket holding his cigarettes on his jacket, struck it across Pix's cheek, and lit up. He was by no means at all happy but then again, Ethan was never happy about something or other that went on in his life. Just that Pix was his new....focus at the moment, a thing he could use to relieve some of the stress.

And it felt good, knowing that he was getting under his skin.

He didn't know why the girl had to follow his orders, but it bothered him quite a bit. Pix was nothing but a little bully. A bully that, should Ethan ever find the time, be taught a good old fashioned draconian lesson in manners. "Go get him a napkin. Please, I'd like to have a chat with him outta ear shot." Not that it really matters.

Her eyebrows narrowed as the ass%#!$'s tone turned more clearly condescending and she was not smiling anymore. "You'd be surprised how many people lack manners. Like you," she retorted hotly, not one to let someone walk all over her.

Enaliss noticed Aaron let out a little snort which made it harder for her to hold in her laugh, but she succeeded. She felt pretty good knowing that Aaron got a kick out of the shaming of the rude guy as well, finding herself liking him even if he was a little quiet. It was nice to not be eating alone, even if there was a little situation going on around them at the moment. She felt bad for the girl who clearly wasn't happy about being with this jerk and wanted to help her, but didn't know how.

She raised an eyebrow as the man rudely accepted the obscene amount of money he was offered. Most people would just say it was just an accident and move on, refusing the money and just accepting the apology. Her frown returned as he ordered the girl to get him a napkin and then whispered something in her ear. She knew the others couldn't hear, but her enhanced senses caught the whisper and she tried not to show that she heard, looking back at Ethan because he had dropped his good-guy facade to openly mock Pix. She didn't forget about it, but rather turned her body towards him so that if the girl actually had to obey an order from Pix she could try and stop her. She was suspecting that the girl was a robot more and more, but she wouldn't be certain until she saw whether or not she attacked Ethan.

A wry smile played over her lips as the guy started going off on Pix, even striking a match on the guy's face. Her attention remained focused on the conflict, ready to jump in if she needed to and glanced over at Aaron. "This day is turning out to be more interesting than I thought it could be," she said quietly to him with a small chuckle.

As she began to walk off and get napkins, still trying to hold in laughter. But that slight hint of a smiles turned into a look of shock and despair. He couldn't he serious! But that guy had only done that because Pix was being so mean! For her! It was Pix's fault! He was horrible and now this. So evil. Nix stood there staring at the ground for a few moments. Obviously not wanting to do this, unfortunately it wasn't really an option, she had to follow direct orders. Even if they were horrible, evil commands. By such a mean person.

She wouldn't use her "powers" at least, and not punch to hard. She shot a dirty look at Pix, letting him know that she didn't appreciate this at all, her eyes filled with defiance. She would have to think of a special way of getting him back for this, more than just constant quips and relative disobedience or a singing lamp shade, much more.

She then spun on one foot into a right handed punch aimed for Ethans cheek, having to stand on her toes to reach the guy. Directly afterwards she would turn around and, if she wasn't stopped, half run to the napkins. Oh how she hated Pix for making her do that. If she hadn't been stopped by then she would slowly walk back with napkins, hand them to Pix and keep her eyes on the ground.

Aaron gave a nod towards Enaliss in response, not quite sure how to take the last few sets of curious incidents. He actually felt a little over whelmed by it all. Conflict he was no stranger to. As a super hero, he had been in all kinds of conflict. But he was not used to things like this. He didn't have to be the one to step in and stop someone from getting mistreated, and in all honesty, he wasn't sure how in this situation. So when he saw originally verbally abused girl spin around and hit her hero square in the face, he went slack jawed.

He had not expected her to gush over the man, showering him with thanks, but this was a complete opposite.

Aaron quickly turned to Enaliss, his face completely dumbstruck, asking silently if she knew what the hell just happened.

He had come in on a whim really. He wasn't one for thinking things through and just went with what ever fickle thought popped into his head. Besides, he was bored, and he had a fair amount of hydrochloric acid in his coat and was curious what it would do if he threw it at someone. He gave a small pleasant smile to himself at the thought. To any who cast a glance his way, he would seem like a happy male of nineteen out for an easy going stroll through the mall. But if any one looked a little harder, they'd see it. They would see the spark of insanity swimming in the corners of his blue eyes.

He wandered deeper into the mall, adjusting the light jacket he wore. It was a little matted and probably smelled a little off, but it kept him comfortable in the air conditioned building. It also did well concealing the acid he had in a tennis ball sized class bottle. He fondly ran his hand over it, enjoying the smooth surface. He had taken it not so long ago along with some cleaning products that he had stolen from a local high school. Now he would have some fun with it.

He found his way to a food court. It was barely populated, making him feel a bit disappointed. He had hoped it to be crawling with humans for him to victimize. He didn't let it get him too down though. There weren't many, but he still had targets. He saw a group of varying age humans huddling together like cattle. Two were seated, three were standing. It seemed like some kind of altercation had just taken place by their meaningless expressions. His eyes wandered on their faces absently, as if looking at which apple was the most red.

The Girl A hushed voice whispered in the depths of his mind. Blaze nodded. His eyes fell on the girl who had just punched another person. He stared at her like a viper eying a mouse who had wandered into its path. He reached into his loose jacket, fingering the bottle with a bit of giddy excitement. He loved chemical burns. They were so different every time. His fire was so predictable. While he loved seeing people burn, he did get bored with the monotony of it all. A little chemical flesh melting was always fun to add in to spice up his usually predictable attacks.

With this objective nestled into his warped mind, he moved towards the group.

Ha ha, this wasn't happening. This guy could really not be so stupid as to mess with a member of H.I.V.E. The clut's continued persistence in insolence was just asking to be stomped out. Especially when he began bringing his dad into this. Dude! That was crossing the line. Only Pix got to badmouth his father. And he certainly objected to indications that he was anything more than at odds with the man. It was like Ethan was trying to goad him.

A bloody good thing then that Pix was hesitatory by nature. Because he sure wasn't reining in due to a misguided sense of morals, "The key phrase was back there buddy. 'Not my business'. If you really need attention this bad, go jump off a roof." Of course anger was easier to control when you'd already set the wheels in motion for revenge. However, striking the match on Pix was difficult, even for him to ignore.

"Seriously, eat waste and die! No one wanted your bleedin'-heart here! If you're so offended on how I treat my friends, wait until you see how they treat you!" Cue Nix.

Enaliss had been prepared to jump in the way of the robot's punch, but it happened too fast for her to react. She looked over at Aaron who looked dumbstruck, but he hadn't heard what she did. The surprising part to her was that the girl had actually listened to the order, but that further solidified the idea in her mind that she was a robot. Perhaps the man created her and therefor she had to do whatever her told her to do. That was unfortunate. Still, the man took the punch like a champ, rolling with it instead of trying to stand his ground and seemed to do an expert maneuver to keep her from throwing another one. She recognized the move as one that was come for hand-to-hand combat, having used it several times herself. He did it with ease as well which suggested he was more than an ordinary citizen.

I will tell you later, she mouthed at Aaron, although how she was going to explain what she knew she had no idea. She didn't really want to get involved in an altercation between the jerk and the guy with the cigarette, but she also didn't want to see anyone get hurt. However, if she tried to intervene then it would become clear that she also wasn't an ordinary citizen and she had been enjoying lunch with Aaron before all of this happened.

Suddenly her senses picked up another person approaching their little group and she rubbed her temples to try and reduce a headache that was coming on with all the scents and sounds of the group weighing on her. Annoyance, adrenaline and every other emotion coming off of the two who probably were about to fight she could smell in their sweat. Now on top of it all a strong chemical scent entered her nose and she looked around to see a man walking towards him, his gaze locked on robot girl with a crazy kind of look in his eyes. Oh no, not someone else who was going to bother them.

"Excuse me, I don't mean to interrupt but someone else is coming to join our little party and it looks like he wants trouble," Enaliss said loudly, but politely, making sure she had their attention when she pointed towards the man.
