| A finer side to Jump City. The Art Appreciation board had hired out one of the more secure galleries. Today gave host to a public display of private collectables. A number of local and travelling artists had also contributed pieces to a later auction. The museum by now held an impressive array of textiles, watercolours, prints, collages and the odd sculpture. Collectively the work would be valued at many thousands. Easily enough a life's savings, even when sold at discount on the black market.
Which made the pay-off worth his very much in demand presence. The police, the Titans, the Magician's Union; all wanted the man in the top-hat. But Mumbo would only star in venues of his choosing. Only places that afforded him top dollar.
“Hope you're comfy folks. The bathrooms are now off-limits.” The viewing crowd turned in search of the disembodied voice. Security teams placed hands to their weapons when the unthinkable happened. The museum's lock-down procedure initiated, an activation that should only have taken place at night. Scores of people were separated, trapped in one room or another.
The lights dimmed. Art critics and connoisseurs began to mutter with concern. In place of centre to the main hall, a man hidden by hats and scarves twisted. In one rotation his attire had entirely shifted revealing the blue skin beneath. A flash tuxedo was worn alongside his fine top-hat and cape. He called out in triumph, causing civilians to scatter and bouncers to move in.
Moments later his attackers lay struggling with straight jackets. The Amazing Mumbo had done it again, “May I have your attention! I understand you all had your hearts set on Picasso's Blue Period. But the theme of the day shall be a different blue entirely. Mumbo Jumbo!”
With a mighty display of his magic Mumbo warped the display pieces. Now each and every frame had been invaded in some way with his grinning mug. You may call this gallery his appreciation set. The narcissist had taken things to the extreme this time, “Better, I'm sure you'd all agree?” Once his ego was satisfied the pilfering could begin. It helped to have the security station keenly under your thumb.

| "I prefer the originals," Galaxuis flew high above the traumatized crowd ripping off her button up dress, and black wig that she wore as a disguise. She had been assigned to protect the Art Museum from any villains who would decide to ruin today events. To her misfortune she had not yet seen this man before and took from his appearance that he must have been an illusionist or magician. She watched Mumbo carefully, her home planet was filled with skilled illusionists and they were tricky to defeat but if he was not an illusionist and was truly a magician she needed to keep her guard and her mind open. "Your vandalism stops here," and with a quick flip of the wrist the tiles around Mumbo's feet lifted from the ground rapidly melting together until they took the form of marble vines wrapping around the villians feet. | |

Galaxuis was'nt the only metahuman in the crowd. Down below Raith wached as she flew up. He tore his trenchcoat off and said. Well I did'nt know I had an alie in this fight. He had been on the trail of Mumbo for weeks ,and got a lucky break last night when him and his informent met up. Even thoug he had wings he stayed on the ground. He made a gun gesture with his hand and out of his fingure a small flame came out almost like a lighter. You have two choices surender and beg for these peoples forgiveness... Or I make you ,and I'll be honest I'm looking forward to choice two. He would smirk after saying this. |

| An unwelcome unveiling of a secondary trickster took Mumbo by surprise. He had purposely arranged this job to be free of Titan meddling. It appeared the team was now more organised than he had previously experienced. The tragedy of getting old, couldn't keep up with the new generation quite so well. No matter. Surprise guest stars were a crowd pleaser. Just look at the way this group turned from fear into relief as the vines constricted Mumbo's legs.
However, he could do without the narrow-minded criticism, “Vandalism? Oh, it's all in the eye of the beholder I suppose.” Sounding genuinely disappointed, Mumbo shook his head sorrowfully. She must not have his creative flare. These stone bindings were fancy, but certainly not the work of a true visionary.
A second young man stepped forward. With those wings he looked like one of the pieces come to life. If he wanted help getting back on the ceiling, Mumbo would happily oblige. No other heroes made themselves known. Good, there had been enough rewrites for one day already.
“Then let's not disappoint. Choice two, stop me if you've foiled this crime before.” Smoke erupted from his waving wand, enveloping the magician completely. Under the shroud, Mumbo did what escape artists do best and broke free of what held him. Rubble remained where once he stood.
Across the way, one of the lock-down barriers began to slowly lift open again. With a quick dash, Mumbo had crossed the hall and slid low into the adjacent room. The iron door slammed shut behind him again. It was not a magic act this time. He quite literally had his finger on the button. A spare glove was up in the museum's security operations now. That disembodied hand was flipping switches and pulling levers. The heroes could expect no reinforcements in dealing with this robbery. They were cut off.

| A puff of clouds and Mumbo was unbound from her reality bending vines of marble. The next thing she knew he was walking out of the place like he owned it. Galaxuis raised her hands and vines did the same lengthened in height. She then motioned the vines to chase after the Magician but failed when the vines where blocked off by the iron doors. Her face twisted into frustration as the vines returned to marble, breaking into millions of pieces as it impacted the floor. She landed gracefully on the floor and turned to look at the angel-like pyro who had claimed to be her alliance. She placed her hands on her hips and stared him down with a rather stern expression "He's not a person to mess with. Mumbo is extremely dangerous being and we are both failing by letting him get away," she walked past him as a matter bended itself around her arms creating a overly muscular demon like limb. The giant arm swung back then slammed forward clutching the iron door and crushing it, loosing in it from its wires and bolts. A few sparks flew as Galaxuis pushed the iron door until it lay flat and crumpled on the floor. "We better hurry before he completely escapes," The matter disappeared in a smog as Galaxuis motioned Raith to get a move on. | |

| Well your welcome. He said a little agitated he put his hand to his mouth and blew out the flame. He started walking to Galaxuis with a more somber than usual look. He stopped right by her and asked her Dangerous? I've heard of killer clowns but never a killer magician. Anyways what's he gonna do pull us out of his hat? He would then stroll down the hall. He was acting pretty calm considering the situation |

| It would all be his. A statue of Mumbo here, a mosaic of Mumbo there. Even the welcome banners looming over the upstairs banister now held his gaping wide smile. You couldn't even go to the toilets without having to decipher which stick-figure Mumbo represented your gender. Whatever he didn't steal he intended to leave as a sort of peace offering to the curators of this exposé. An entire gallery of 'alternative art'.
Of the many paintings, only one of his faces was without mask, pencil-moustache, or goatee. Instead Mumbo now added those himself with a marker he had on hand. He smiled with childish glee at his work, then turned to face the direction he believed the heroes would be descending on him from. Always a tenacious bunch, no matter the generation.
A few art enthusiasts had become stuck in this room with him. Mumbo had taken the liberty of wrapping them up in bandages and dangling them upside-down from the ceiling. Just because he liked to turn things on their head. He made a square with his fingers, and looked at his captives through them, “Pretty as a picture. Then I'm sure you could spare a few.”
From his head, the top-hat tumbled until it was in his palm. A vacuum wind then filled the room, and one-by-one slipped pictures out from their frames. The sheets were then carried off by the whirlwind before disappearing into Mumbo's hat. A dozen masterpieces collected, easy. He replaced the item on his head.
“Speechless, I know.” | |

| She followed behind Raith her face still twisted into a scowl. How could this winged hero just stroll out into the hallway like it's another simple day of crime fighting? Sure Mumbo was a villain but a tricky one at that and if Raith's powers were mainly fire there would be no doubt Mumbo would trick him into accidentally burning a few expensive peaces. They were now in the middle of the hallway and there were a few doors that Mumbo could have slipped into. Galaxuis didnt give a second thought as she used her powers to morph the door into a liquid metal. She had to be careful of the art work, even if Mumbo vandalized each and everyone so far. Then there was Mumbo his huge smile gleaming with utmost joy as he collecting all the artwork in mere seconds. Her eyes wide with fear she had no idea what to do or even what to use. Galaxuis reached both her hands out mumbling "I call upon the spirits of the forgotten," as she finished her last words, balls of power shot out at Mumbo or rather towards Mumbo's hand. She needed to get his hat. | |

| She was anoyed even he could tell. Raith did'nt know why she was so uptight I mean there just painting's right they can be repainted. They had walked into this big hallway with at least twenty Mumbo pictures. Uhhhhh. He let out as he shutered then he saw at the end of the hallway a moving hand wait no it was Mumbo's as Galaxius shot little "power ball's" at the hand Raith was thinking. This is never going to work Fire welled up in his hands he raised his hands and shot it down the hall being carfule to not hit anything.

| As both heroes tore through the steel barricades they were met with a malign smile. “Ah, company!” Their charge into action put Mumbo immediately on the defensive. Galaxius' first power ball sped straight for his hand, and it was only by some deft action that wrist and hat alike dodged the strike. His sleight of hand had come into play again.
With several other orbs baring down on him, Mumbo rose his second arm in opposition. A spark from his wand released explosives in a calculated counter-strike. The two attacks impacted upon each other, far too close for the magician not to receive the brunt of repercussion. A kinetic force tugged at his cape and forced him back a couple inches. Her magic was beginning to grate on his nerves.
From a different angle shot round a fireball. If Mumbo hadn't been so absolutely, incredibly talented with mutli-tasking, he'd imagine it would have hit. Instead his hat and wand traded places, and an explosion of toy bunnies poured out like a cannon, intercepting the flames. They arched overhead and back towards the heroes as blazing bunnies of glory. One of the lepus incendiaries collided with the singe tether that kept a captive strapped to the ceiling. Give the fire a moment more to burn through and she would plummet head-first onto the marble flooring. Mumbo wouldn't dream of allowing the ruination of this show climax.
“Abracadabra!” With his first pirouette was shot a hoop spell at Galaxius in hopes of levitating the Titan against her will, “Hocus pocus!” Weaving back to the right, Mumbo released from his hat a dole of doves at the half-angel planning to pluck his wings bare of feathers. But there was no time to watch this attack peck home, he was already pointing his wand back at the girl, “Stupafy!” This last incantation conjured nothing. In fact it proved to be a complete dud. Mumbo stopped and scratched his head, “There was always a chance.”

| The strength of the balls of energy had caused Galaxuis’s hair to gently blow away from her face. She wasn’t sure if the spirits would hit the hat but if they failed the impact would have caused some damage. Of course simple straight forward attacks did not faze the talented magician. He had blocked the aliens attack causing light explosions that had forced anything around to be pulled back. Galaxuis covered her face and braced her body as explosions and fire started mixing in the air. As soon as she thought things were safe she tried to quickly asses what to do but couldn’t come up with a conclusion because of everything that was happening at once. Before she knew it her body was suspended in air without her consent. She looked up at Mumbo, she was starting to become scared of what he could do to her. The blue skinned man pointed his wand at Galaxuis and had said what seemed to be another spell. Quickly she braced for impact but nothing seemed to have happened. She opened her closed eyes to see Mumbo scratching his head and she knew she needed to do something fast. The only option that she had at the moment was to use her powers a bit more heavily then she had on earth. This included letting some of her frustrations make themselves present in her emotions, something Galaxuis hadn’t done in a while. It wasn’t hard to bring her usually happy-go-lucky attitude to highly agitated levels. Since being on Earth things have been both complicated and even tiresome for the alien. She didn’t feel completely sturdy in anything and didn’t have any close friends to lean for comfort. These thoughts started to make her blood boil and she could feel herself ready for a fight with Mumbo. Hyping herself up caused Galaxuis physical appearance to change. Her usually golden rod eyes turned into a pit of black, two small horns made themselves present under her dreaded hair, as she concentrated to make sure her transformation stop before it got any further in the process. Galaxuis looked over at Mumbo “Let go,” as she said this the whole room became engulfed in a thick black. It didn’t even look like they were in a room but more or less suspending in a starless galaxy “Now.”

| As the flaming bunnys spilled out of the hat one hit Raith. the flames did'nt hurt but the wieght did they were almost like bricks and by the time he stood back up the room looked like well... A starless galaxy What the hell... He then looked at sync and fell to the ground once more. When he was young he was taught about the effects of a demon around angles. It made them weaker to a point but did'nt really phase them but since he was only halfit hurt him alot more. He strugled to stand but eventully did his hands filled with fire once more. Calm down. He said through heavy breathing while looking at Galaxius. once again he put his hands up to shoot at mumbo.

| It was child's play really, playing the children for fools. Team up as they may, it would take a lot more than gumption to pull one over on Mumbo. In times past he had just been messing around. The crime magician had come prepared this time. Especially in experience. He knew every trick in the book, wrote some of his own in too. Having a foe suspended in peril was without a doubt right where he wanted them.
Except he hadn't seen it all. As he meandered about her demise, the Titan suddenly underwent a transformation. Mumbo frowned suspiciously as features rose that were inherently maniacal. Then to crown her caper, the room was suddenly swarming with a black mass that eclipsed all of his revolutionary art. The blue villain looked on dumbstruck, jaw literally dropped.
A fiery glow returned his attentions to the matter at hand. Mumbo was forced to distance himself from the girl by a new blast of fireballs from the angel. This deserved a show-topper, “No, no, no! Our audience didn't come here to see a blank canvas. Dark has to be contrasted.” Whatever magic had just been concocted was bordering on his league. But Mumbo recognised illusion when it presented itself.
“You'll like this. Not a lot, but you'll like it.” Back in the control room, a glove would manipulate the controls yet again, pressing the activation button for the security grid. Of course Mumbo would add a little dramatic puff from his wand to suggest that his magic had induced the following effect. A gauntlet of lasers would rise up and illuminate the darkness with a red glow. Miraculously they did not hit anybody, but the woman from before, who's tether was shortly burning away, found one of those laser beneath her. A single hair drifted from her head and vapourised in the beam.
Hands rubbed together gleefully as Mumbo looked around at the deadly display, “Since you were so intent on stealing my limelight – Alakazam!” Mirrors would then appear at certain intersections and reflect the lasers onto new courses. Directly at Galaxius and Raith.

| Galaxuis noticed how her demonic presence effected her team mate. He was becoming weaker and this saddened Galaxuis, she hasn't even hit the halfway mark to her true form. She tried to lower her transformation for the sake of Raith's health but she knew if she could just push a bit further she could do a bit more. Then she saw the color of red streaking through the room, lasers. She was getting sick of being here and was becoming weaker from the worry she had over Raith. As Mumbo made mirrors appear, Galaxuis made the people inside the room, including Raith, disappear by having the black matter wrap themselves around the victims and spitting them out just outside the room. She wasnt fast enough to make an efficient wall between her and the laser, the matter that had come in front of her was slowly breaking away from the pressure of red beam and she had to find a way out of this suspended lock. She let her transformation go a bit further but only enough that her power and determination grew. She examined where the lasers could be coming from with her 180 degree vision and had covered all the openings from where she thought the lasers were. The matter wasnt completely strong but it was strong enough for her to come up with something. She had excess matter come from all angles of Mumbo cornering him inside a sphere. She hoped this would buy her more time if she had him trapped into a solid ball. | |
