The Roof

"No. We're moving out of the city. because he won't fight me here. There's too much sound around. I'll win."

He turned to face Alyss.

"Outside of town, it gets very dark. Very quiet... Will you be okay with that?"

Alyss breathed in. "Yeah, I'll cope okay. Fear is tired today, she won't arise. She wore herself out last night fighting. But, I have someones fear of fire in my head somewhere, so I can..." she concentrated and fire sprung up in her palm. She squealed and extinguished it. "But, be careful, remember I can freak out in those situations, just hope I go for him rather than you. Will he attack me?" she asked, nervously.

"No. But he'll kill you. Just to get to me."

Xzuk knew that damn clown was ruthless... and he would go that low.

"Just listen to me and you'll be fine."

They were about a mile away from the city limits and the sun was about an hour from going down.

Alyss gulped and followed Xzuk. The place they were in was open and far from the city. "Let's just stop here?" she asked. "We're far enough from anyone to hear."
She looked around and back at Xzuk. "If he hurts me I'll kill him. Or you. I mean hurts you, not kill you..." she mumbled.

Xzuk turned and smiled.

"It's fine. He wont beat m---"

Before he could finish the sentence he got hammered by a a wave of purple energy covered in black lightning.

His veins flared up as his armor sizzled.

"And who might this be?"

Deadzone hadn't changed one bit.. still had the same fangs... and still had a cloak made from the people he'd killed...

His eyes showed no remorse...

"That, is none of your concern!"

Xzuk got up and launched for Deadzone throwing sonic punches.

Alyss shrunk backwards and against the rockface near where they were. She looked at Deadzone and behind her back she clenched her fist. Her eyes darkened and a circle of shadows shaped like Xzuk popped up around the real Xzuk. They began tearing and ripping Deadzone, clawing at his face and anything they could get at with razor sharp hands and teeth.

The first punch landed blowing off most of Deadzone's lower jaw and the shadows tore at his eyes.

Xzuk let up to see how much damage he'd done.

Deadzone simply smiled with half of a face.

Seconds later his face regenerated.

Not again....

"Did you forget?"

Xzuk's eyes narrowed and he snapped.

"Shut UP when I'm beating the shit out of you!"

He charged the clown again and grabbed the upper part of his jaw, and the lower part and twisted them in seperate directions.

"Alyss, now would be the time to fight."

Xzuk charged the clown again.

Alyss stood stationary and nodded to Xzuk. She found her fear of fire and ice and seperated them into her hands. She shot a plume of fire and the man, hitting him dead in the chest. She ran towards Xzuk. "It's getting dark. I won't be much use soon." she said. "What is he? What does he fear?" she asked, terrified.

"He's pure evil. He has no heart, he has no blood, all he knows is death and pain."

"I need you to work him into something. I can't do it alone. All I can do is hold open the gate."

Xzuk's look was serious... He hadn't used the Roar of Time in quite some time...

Before he could finish talking with Alyss, he had to charge Deadzone to keep him in check.

He sent wave after wave of sound at the clown, disintegrating most of him, but seconds later he was regenerated.

Alyss groaned and shut her eyes. She tried to work her way into Deadzone's mind and found nothing he really feared. She breathed deeper. She would need to create a totally new fear. Damn it.
She began to recreate someone with a fear of falling in her head and began to project it onto Deadzone. She hadn't done this is in a while, so she turned up the terror.
"I don't know if this will work, or not."

Xzuk began to concentrate hard.

His veins all ran black as he stretched his arms out with a sound similar to thunder his arms shot in and his fists cracked together.

He pulled as hard as he could ripping the every muscle down his back and opening the gate.

"Get him in here!"

There was a rip in front of Xzuk to a different time. A time and dimension in which Sumi and Xzuk had failed in protecting the world. It was lifeless in that place... Perfect for Deadzone.

Alyss stood mouth agape at the gate. She shook her head and got back in the fight. She swung her hands and a shadow wave began to beat Deadzone backwards. She, herself, began punching him, powering up her black-coloured hands.
"Where?!" she asked.

"Get him in this gate before my muscles disintigrate please!!!"

He was holding open the gate, but it took all of his power to keep it from slamming back together and breaking his wrists...

"Just get him in here and it'll be over!"

Alyss swept another shadow over the man and he fell into the gate.
"Close it Xzuk!" she shouted.

Xzuk's hands snapped shut and another crack of thunder was heard.

His knuckles had swollen and turned purple from the impact. he fell back and looked up at the darkening sky.

"Good job...."

He began to glow faintly as the sun dropped behind the horizon.
