Tainted Aftermath (Capricious)

(>,< eh, destroy my illusion of male hygiene :P)

I sighed silently but nodded. Though a part of me didnt want this to happen that way. I mean i didt want to live in fear of them coming back.
I knew what I had been missing.
And I couldnt live without.

I put on a smile and kissed his cheek before he transformed and when he zomed around my hair blew around my face.
Sheesh.

Soon Xlr8 was standing before me and I smiled shaking my head. I was a;right.

"I love you. Be careful."

I wrote before I slid his visor down gently and an my fingers down the side of it before smiling and letting him go.

He was right. No need to worry.

Once he was gone I headed down to the kitchen to make myself a sammich. Two things most Titans had in common: Pizza and Sandwiches.

Turning to head back to Ben's room to wait for him I froze, my bod seizing up as I dropped the glass of juice and my plate, the glass shattering. Paralyzed I started to panic, as I noticed a black shimmer sreading up my arms and I opened my mouth in a silent scream of pain, it felt like torture.

Thankfully it dissappeared and my knees buckled causing me to lay on the floor paralyzed. Then I started to flicker. As in,my appearance. For a moment I looked like my sister, then the blonde ex-secretary of the deceased mayor, the random girl after girl. That Power/symptom receded quickly. Thank God. Though I knew what two I was condemed to now.
Feeling like an eighteenwheeler hit me in the chest my lungs felt like they were on fire as the 'flames' spread up my throat and vocal chords. Strengthening them. Mutilating them.
The burning sensation remained and try as I did, I couldnt brace myself for the mental impact of what happened next.
Uncountable visions and horrific feelings of pain and despair and downright chaos flooded the gates of my mind, forcing them to expand. My mind wasnt built for that power, but now all I could do was hope it wouldnt reject it and give up my sanity.
While that didnt happen, my mind did the next best, or not best, thing. It shut me down.

So when Ben returned from the mission and went looking for me, he'd find my body on the floor, comatose.
While my mind...was a different story.
It's like...I wasnt there. But I was. I was alive. But I wasnt aware of it. I was in my own mind, exploring it's depths where my concious self had been 'banned'. For my protection until my subconcious had finished prepping me for the mental abilities which came naturally to Scarlet, but not to me.
At least I'd have my voice back.
And my current was gone. For that I'd have to lear to control the monster that my new power could make me.
