| JaK was actually surprised Scope had kept up, it took a lot of skill to free run. Especially a top tree branches, maybe there was more to this kid than even he realized. As they sat watching the sun over Jump City illuminate the entire skyline giving a hint to their sector, their home, their city. Scope mentioned how nice it looked at this time a day, JaK had to agree.
"Ya, it does look nice."
Then Scope began to question things again, JaK could tell he was obviously just inquisitive by nature.
"Uhhh why? Well first off, I'm not risking my life just for Jump City. I risk my life because this was my purpose. This was the hand fate dealt me, I could've been what most consider normal and lived a happy life. Maybe had a few girlfriends, played baseball, do gymnastics, start a family...Whatever, but that's not how things turned out for me. If none of us answered the call to become a Titan and questioned fate...Well, these people would die. So to answer your question, no, I'm not risking my life...I'm saving all theirs, because it's not my life anymore and it hasn't been since they day I gained the ability to turn into tree bark. I believe everything until now lead me to this...So rather than run away in denial I embraced who and what I am."
To be honest, however, even JaK wasn't truly sure what he was.
OT: Sorry for shortness of reply, had a rather hefty one ready, but my CPU finished downloading something and refreshed on it's own wiping away the post. |

| Scope nodded thoughtfully. What Titans do shouldn't be imposed or forced upon them. It is a choice. It's something that is reserved for, not only the strongest, fastest or smartest, but it is only for the most brave and selfless. Scope had a long way to go to accept that it was his calling like JaK had.
"Everything's going to change for me...isn't it, JaK?" he began softly. "I'm not just some kid anymore...I've got to be strong if I'm going to help the team..."
He really never had any help in his life. He usually had to figure everything out for himself...but...now he was part of a team. It didn't always have to be so hard did it? "JaK? Can I ask a favor?..." he trailed off for moment. He wasn't sure what the boy's reaction would be. "Will you help me find my place in this team and find how I can help? I think I want to...I just don't think I know how..."
He knew he could probably help himself if he had to, but he felt as if he'd made a friend in JaK this night and it would be nice to have some help as Scope would develop as a Titan... OOC: It's fine. I took about as long for an even shorter post

| JaK looked at Scope as he made the realization that his life was changing...Forever. It's something that everyone realizes at some point.
"Not just for you dude, things are changing for all of us. For the world, villains are getting smarter and adjusting better, so must we."
JaK then paused and waited for Riley to finish his question, and smiled upon him finishing the inquiry. Extending a hand to his teammate after he gave his answer.
"Scope, I can't promise you all the answers dude, because I don't have them myself. I'm not as sure of myself as Ben is, I'm not as smart as Batman, and I don't have the willpower of a Green Lantern, but I can promise you that I am, a Titan. And if you really choose to be, you're one of us to, and together well find out who we are man." |

| (OOC: Yay, I think Scope has a friend! Let's end it here since it seems sort of like the point of the post is made.)
With a smile and a renewed drive, Scope met JaK's hand and came to his feet. Somehow, he felt a little taller...a bit more confident about himself. Perhaps this ragtag group of super teens could make a team that would slightly resemble those preceding them. Scope remembered seeing those heroes defend the city numerous times. They really had everything they needed; the confident and devoted leader in Robin...the flying 'play-maker' in Starfire...the tech specialist in Cyborg...the goofy shape-shifter in Beast Boy...and the ultimate power in Raven...
What they had now? An indefinite set of leaders in the new return of Psychosis, the absent Lance and the hopeful JaK...a superpower in Superboy...a 'firework' in Grace...a wild canon in Toji...an insane ghost-whisperer in Brianna...and an incredibly unconfident recruit in Scope...they needed to find a real way to define themselves as a team and...maybe a strong was the first step...
Scope wasn't sure what it was...but...he felt as if he saw something in JaK's eyes as he was helped to his feet. It may have been confidence? Hope? Potential? ...Fear? He didn't know what had made JaK stand down from his spot in the past or back off from the role in the past, but, Scope hoped that JaK could be the leader and maybe a sort of role-model that he needed.
Riley really tried to make out the words to express what he was really thinking. For the first time, he was excited about what could become of this new Titans team. Sure, there was great history that started them out, but who was to say that they were the best they could be? Maybe they could be even better than Robin's Titans. Riley made his way back to the tower and back to sleep as the sun rose, expecting JaK to do the same. He had strengthened a relationship today and hopefully began to unite this team. Scope was certain of one thing, as he laid his head down on his pillow: he would do whatever it took to create the greatest team Jump would ever see!
