| Steel City Police Department Like Jump City which Steel is unfortunately compared to, the men and women of The Steel City Police Department are also trained and equipped to respond to metahuman committed crimes. SCP Officers however employ more of a nononsense, shoot first if armed, or one warning and then shoot with extreme prejudice. They do not mess around and enforce the law with an iron fist, seeing it as the only way to ensure the city doesn't have to solely rely on superhero intervention. Compared to Jump City however, Steel City Officers are begrudgingly appreciative of any local vigilantes and superheroes, and corruption is unfortunately more common aswell. Steel City Cops patrolling the streets are armed with "similar" weapons and equipment as Jump City and similar cities. One notable difference is that they use Heavy Blaster pistols designed with a secondary charge shot that sacrifices energy to deliver a much more powerful shot capable of knocking an upstart durable metahuman on their ass. Also unlike with Jump City which has switched to energy weapons, many Steel City officers still use ballistic weapons; with shotguns or magnums being preferred. Stun batons are also heavier, for greater striking force than Jump City versions, but are still designed to deliver electrical shocks on impact. Due to working the streets of Steel City, a few officers may have a couple of cybernetics. SWAT officers are made up of primarily former National Guardsmen or have had some form of military service, and are equipped with heavier gear to maintain law and order. Unlike with Jump City, SWAT is broken up into two similar functioning branches but both still serve to protect the city. One branch is more like regular SWAT officers which handle the more routine crimes of busting up drug rings, cracking down on a gang hideout, or first responding to a potentially high risk situation. SWAT Officers in both branches are more likely to have cybernetics. Metahuman Response OfficersThe MRO are explicitly trained and heavily armed officers that respond exclusively to dangerous, metahuman crimes using practically military-grade weaponry. Even the basic MRO are known to have some cybernetics to better combat these metahuman threats, but one VERY small group goes even further than that and wear prototype suits of power armor that can go toe to toe with Cinderblock. The issue is that there are VERY few of them, due to the surgery and cybernetic implants necessary to be able to use these armors in the first place. But if you happen to see one, you probably have a few seconds before they bull rush you like some kind of Juggernaut... SCP AgentsThe SCPD have a public presence to deter would-be criminals, but with Titans East moving out, more drastic actions had to be taken and so a few officers in the department engage in some cloak and dagger. They are equipped with "basic" equipment similar to regular Steel Cops depending on their mission. But more importantly they are also equipped with an early prototype cloaking device that allows them to easily infiltrate enemy lines to cause as much chaos or damage as possible before slipping away. Because of how the cloaking works, those in the know refer to them sometimes as "Predators." With rumors of The Shade increasing, SCP Agents seem to have become more active either in response to or in an attempt at uncovering The Shade's identity... | |
