The dragon soars (Open)

It was a quiet time at the docks. Quiet, with the exception of one small warehouse. On the outside, it looked relatively normal with the exception of the numerous armed guards, several black sedans lined bumper to bumper and one of the most well known figures, within the underground criminal ring, known more for his compassion then brutality. Kuroda Michiyo. Beside him was his bodyguard, adopted daughter and the groups enforcer, Vanessa, better known by her alias of dragon.

What was going on here, was a deal between yakuza and a small group known as the azure star. Normally the yakuza wouldn't deal with people like this, but due to their most explosive entrance into the criminal underworld, they really had no choice in the matter. Kuroda sighed, rubbing his temples softly as he tried his hardest to explain to the head of their cohorts, that the weapon order has been filled and would be ready within the week. "I'm sorry Mr.Robertson, but with a weapon order of this size and magnitude it will take at least another week, and an additional quarter of a million dollars must be paid upon the orders fulfillment."

This man, this Mr.Robertson as he called himself, Vanessa didn't like this man and the way he carried himself. Everything about him, spoke of pure violence and she couldn't help but crinkle her nose when he looked at her. Then the reply came. "I understand Kuroda. But, we're the ones waiting on these weapons. Weapons, we need to secure ourselves within this city, do I make myself clear?" As if adding insult to injury, the man smiled; it was like staring at a fox and then he spoke again. "We will only go so far as to pay an additional fifty thousand, otherwise the deal is through."

Kuroda nodded softly and got up. The shortness of their business was concluded and all at once, they began to leave. "Oh and Kuroda?" The man spoke up with an obvious sneer on his face. "It may not be that obvious to you, but you're done with this business." All at once, chaos and panic tore through the warehouse as Kuroda hit the ground; a nice little hole burrowed into his back. He had been shot. That was just about the only excuse Vanessa needed, to start cracking skulls. But when the additional sound of sirens began to get closer all at once, she realized it was a damned setup.

"Get Kuroda to a car, and get him to one of our doctors! I'll stay behind and hold them back." Almost at once, a man grabbed Kuroda up in a bridal carry and hurried off outside the warehouse. Vanessa's main concern right now, was to get him to safety and beat the everliving hell out of these fools for daring to actually try and cross the yakuza. Unsheathing her Tonfa batons, she got into one of her more relaxed forms; arms at her side and the batons held in a loose limp wristed format. These men were armed with knives, machetes and the ones that did have guns, were more occupied with the few yakuza that stayed behind to provide her with cover.

All at once, she launched into her attack like a hurricane force wind. Striking at the first two men with a cold remorseless fury. A sharp blow to the sternum, followed up with a downward slam from both batons into the first mans skull, saw a swift end to his foolish life. The other man received a sharp kick to the side of the knee, followed up with a sharp tonfa laden backhand to the right temple and finally a heel drop to the head. Once again, ensuring that this man would to never see the light of day again. She was bowling through thug after thug, but nowhere could she see that traitorous filth and once she finally settled down and realized every single bodyguard was dead. She retreated with the handful of yakuza that stayed behind.

They needed to get back to base and hopefully without running into the police or worse yet. The titans. Now, she didn't have a grudge or any ill wishes towards those upholders of justice but getting caught, meant she'd probably spend the rest of her days in prison and for Vanessa; that would be an injustice while that traitor still lived and breathed. Taking to the side passages and back paths, they made their way to the streets and made the maddest of the mad dashes through open traffic. Ten blocks to go and they'd be home free and she could see her father again.

Three sets of footsteps barreled down sidewalk, after sidewalk, after sidewalk. Vanessa with two of her cohorts trailing close behind. The sounds of police sirens rang thick in her ears, as she slipped around and past people with ease only pushing someone aside if they proved too stubborn to circumvent any other way, besides a use of force. "Hurry up! We must get back. We have to get back to see if he survived." Vanessa's resolve was absolute; she wanted to get back to see her father, yet, on the other hand she so desperately wanted to kill Mr.Robertson with her own two hands.

But that would have to wait; she had more important things to do. Like getting orders from her father and she would not be delayed one second longer. Then she hit a snag. Ten feet in front of her at the intersection, was most surprisingly a blockade set up by the police. Screeching to a halt, she nearly slammed into the big burly wall of officers armed with shatter resistant Plexiglas shields and aluminum riot batons. "Hey! Get back!" One of them approached her his shield raised in front of him and judging by the way he held that baton, he looked ready to give her a good smack.

She all at once issued the man a challenge and drew her tonfa batons. "I don't have time to deal with idiots." Taking up her stance, the man came in hard and fast with a shield lunge, followed up with a blow aimed for her right shoulder. Vanessa barely had enough time to really defend against the shove, as it pushed her back, but the riot baton follow up was a bad idea. Vanessa moved into action with grace and speed, flipping her left handed tonfa baton around so she held the shaft of the weapon in a vice like grip; she moved in a counter clockwise fashion, pivoting on her right foot and dragging her left across the ground and with what some would call perfect choreography, she caught the mans arm with the tonfa's grip and jerked it up hard.

For a few brief seconds, the man was lifted off the ground and was launched six feet into the air. He really didn't know what happened, beyond the fact that he was now laying on his back, the wind completely knocked from his sails. This however, caught the attention of the rest of the riot police. They were mostly being used to divert traffic away from the docks but at that moment, they went into riot control mode. It was utter chaos. All they saw was one of their own go down and within seconds, they were just bum rushing the mass of curious civilians who were checking out what the commotion was. They didn't know who and they didn't care all they knew right now, was suppression.

At that point in time Vanessa, along with her back up slipped through the riot that she had caused, and continued on their way back to base. It was only nine or ten more blocks and then she'd be back home planning her revenge.

Flying over the docks at the time was none other than Dan Yat, he was in his civillian clothes his his beanie hat on and his iPod playing. As he was flying over the docks he would look down and see some girl taking down a police officer and then run off, he knew the police wouldn't take that very well but before he had time to land a massive riot had started and there was police batons and civilian fists flying everywhere, the batons coming out the better of the exchanges. Dan would land in the middle of the civilians and push his way forward to the front. While at the front Dan tried shouting to stop the police officers hitting everyone. "Hey, stop, none of these people did anything". But Dans voice fell on deaf ears, none of the officers were listening. One of the officers saw that Dan was standing there, not doing anything so he thought he'd try and look big in front of his friends, of course he didn't know who Dan was. The officer pulled his baton back as far as he could before swinging it as hard as possible at Dan's head. As the baton met Dan's skull there was a loud cracking noise as the baton broke around Dan's skull, Dan barely feeling a thing. This caused nearly all of the officers to stop. "Oh good, now I have your attention, none of these people was the one who attacked the officer"

Dan would hear a familiar voice and turn on the spot. "Oh hi Jak, well I'm not 100% sure but from what I saw it was a girl took down one of the officers, which started a riot and she used that as a cover to escape". Dan would take a glance around for two reasons. One: To make sure that there was no more fighting. Two: To do a quick check that the girl hadn't come back to check out her handy work. "Anyway Jak I think she went that way". Dan would lift his arm up and point Jak in the way which he saw the girl run

After a few minutes of calming down the police and the rioters Dan would take off out of the thread back to the Tower to just chill, he knew that Jak would catch this girl, he had the determined look in his eye

"Split up. Less chance for the police to catch us." With those words the four men following her gave her an apprehensive look, before nodding and subsequently vanishing down an alleyway, where they would further split up. Now that she was alone she pushed herself down the sidewalk at a hard, almost, insane pace. She needed to get back, to check if her father had made it safely to the stronghold. Be well father. I'll be home soon.

With those words she stopped all at once, when the sound of something behind her grabbed her direct attention. Spinning on her axis she drew her tonfa batons and what she had thought was a car, was actually someone on a flying motorcycle. Now one would think a hover cycle would be quite but all it took for Vanessa in her high strung, high-alert mode to spin around, was just one fluttering grocery bag. This was most certainly just the beginning of her irritations.

Standing her ground, Vanessa raised one tonfa in front of her and stared down the speeding vehicle. She wasn't going to run, not from these gangsters, she was going to make them pay dearly for their transgressions. In blood.

The blast did nothing to phase Vanessa as she sunk low to the ground, gripping both her tonfa by their shafts, the grips facing outwards in such a manner that she could use them like hooks if need be. Then she was off once again, pushing herself into her insane pace towards the flying bike and it's rapid approach did nothing to sway her from her path. She was hellbent in her resolve to destroy it and it's occupant. This person, this vile thug that dared attack her father and was now after her? she was going to end him, this she knew.

She jumped, pivoting her body so that she was parallel to the ground; her tonfa batons were at the ready for the strike. Before she could bring this fool down, she had to dismount him and she only knew one way. Direct force. Her attack would be simple and aimed at the driver. While it looked like she was practically doing a suicide dive at the speeding vehicle, she had a specific idea involving her batons and hooking his leg and simply drag him off. Now she only prayed he didn't catch on.

OT: In case you're wondering why, he's not more injured I lowered the bikes speed low enough in previous post to survive a sudden fall off of it

"Says the idiot trying to turn me into a smoking crater." There was absolutely no look of humor, no look of disbelief on her face. She was dead serious. She flipped the batons back around, so her hands gripped the handles firmly; the black sheen indicating they were made of metal. But what kind of metal? "Now if you don't mind, I would like to go home, or the alternative. I could kill you and go home. Your choice." Vanessa had absolutely no love for this person, this thug, that she assumed was working for that Robertson man. Either way, if he let her go or she killed him, she won.

"I need to attend to something important." She adjusted her gloves slightly and shifted in her shoes, getting herself comfortable for what she assumed was going to be a fight. She wasn't going to make the first move, at least, not this time she wanted to see what he was capable of, if only because he didn't seem like the rest of that rabble back at the warehouse. "Tick, tock." The way she said that, well it was ice cold and very much indicative, that time was indeed ticking in this fight and she wasn't going to waste time chatting and arguing all day.

"Figures. Everyone takes the hard way." Vanessa wasn't big on talking and this suited her just fine. Between the fact that she was also testing the waters and her own need to see what he was capable of himself and she wasn't impressed. The fake jab had gotten a reaction out of her which wasn't really so much a reaction, as it was her just standing still like an absolute statue. However, she had waited for him to land before she spun on her pivotal axis, flipping her right handed tonfa back up and out so she gripped the shaft in an iron clad grip, and aimed the length of it at his left arm. But while she was doing this she began to twirl the baton in her left hand, gaining momentum before snapping her wrist and arm out at him, almost like a whip and made a sudden step forward, putting more of her weight behind the blow.

"I don't have time for jail. As much as I'd probably love being in there, amongst my enemies who would more then likely gut me as I slept, I think I'd rather go see my father then die in a jail cell." Even as she attacked with a calculating drive that spoke more of something inhuman she at least maintained one thing amongst her gritty, rough words. A promise. Not that it mattered to this buffoon, whom she would splatter across the street like a bad grease stain soon enough.
