Post apocalyptic thingy (Actual Rp)

Having a good mind for directions, Nergui found her way back the way she'd come. She hadn't taken the axe the first time she'd seen it because she hadn't known how deserted the settlement was. After all, most residential areas objected to you carrying around deadly weapons in broad daylight. But now she knew her survival may depend on the tools at her disposal. Nergui found the axe half buried in masonry and had to brace herself, using both hands to lug it out. It slid free with a satisfying rasping sound. She felt like a regular Mongolian Marauder, but she was hardly going to go raid villages with the thing. It was just a useful aid to felling trees. Assuming she could find any. If those other kids needed anything bigger than driftwood they were going to have to pray a storm blew something substantial over.

The axe came with a sling. Nergui slipped it over her shoulder and frowned at the weight. That was going to be a detriment. She needed a cart, but casting a quick glance around the car strewn street, she felt this town had rather outgrown carts. If she would have any hope of finding one then she must pray to discover an outlying farm. The Mongolian had another idea and walked until she found a block of houses. She didn't have to hop a fence, the panels were so rotten that she could kick her way through (a lot of kicking today). She found a padlocked shed and hit the device with a stone until it broke. Then she opened it up.

Wheelbarrow. Jackpot. It would make moving bulky supplies that much easier. Furthermore Nergui found something that would prove invaluable. A spade for digging. If, as she suspected, their immediate surroundings were parched land, then their only reliable water sources were wells. She would have to make her own of course, but she knew from experience they could be as little as twelve or fifteen feet below the surface, provided she picked her place correctly. She must follow the overlying strata and predict a pool in the water table.

In addition to this Nergui also packed a trowel and a Stanley knife. They were usually used for cutting carpets, and were too flimsy to do much else, but they might be good for shaping wood. This was useful for the shaft of the spade looked brittle and might require a refit. There was no rope, that was a shame, but the shed did provide a lot of cable ties.

With that done, Nergui was about to get moving when she notice something at the far end of the garden. A trellis covered thick with ivy. After a moment of calculation she decided to risk it. The Mongol strode up to the wooden fixture and then began to liberate it from its stranglehold prison. It would be very difficult for her to carry in the wheelbarrow, but she figured it might be worth it in the long run.

Ooc: Hey Rose, the air would be pretty dry due to the intense heat, I'm not really sure how she'd be able to smell water in dry air..

Tachi watched quietly as people started to suggest things, some even started to go off by themselves and try to find what little could be found in the dusty deserted town, I hope those scavenging are careful, there could be all sorts of things creeping around here...Like..mutant cacti or something.., Tachi thought to herself. When Lance and Koda spoke, Tachi listened intently, they were all in the same predicament, but those two seemed like the leader type, Nergui too, though, she did seem more of a "do it yourself" type of gal.

Tachi tilted her head at the mention of "split up", this wasn't Scooby-Doo, they weren't solving mysteries, anything could happen if they lessened their numbers!
"S-say, would splitting up be a bit risky?" The teen began "Splitting up in town is one thing, putting miles between two parts of the group is another..I mean, none of us are really warriors, so if stuff goes down we'd have a better chance if fighting off whatever if we stay in a bigger group, might even make us look more intimidating, you know? You'd have more confidence in fighting a few straggling wolves than a while pack of 'em"

Ciara listened to the person with cat ears and blinked, looking into her bag of yuck and nodding. She let the older girl do the talking just got up to stand behind her. The girl got her bow ready and aimed for the newcomer. When she pulled the shelf over, Ciara tried to not move, but couldn't help but flinch. She wanted to be strong too. Her big brother would be as steady as a rock right now, so she had to do the same. The girl stood up as tall as she could and tried not to shake. "W-why should we give you the bag I-I found?" Then a thought occurred to her and she bit her lip. "W-we can share if you'd like... B-but this girl thinks that it's no good..." She shrugged with a nervous smile.

Chessa's smile didn't waver. If anything, the fact that she manipulated their would-be stalker to come out in the open not only confirmed that she was alone, but made her feel pretty good right now. She had a moment to take in Needle's features and would definitely count her as attractive even with the ragtag look going on. If not for this serious life or death situation they had, Chessa definitely wouldn't mind a netflix and chill if it was in the cards. The shelf being knocked over brought her out of her musings, causing her pupils to shrink slightly as her tail swayed casually behind her.

A whip? Did miss dominatrix get lost on her way to her next trick? Did she really think a whip was going to help her in here? Even without knowing the exact length of the whip, it would be much harder to use it properly for actually attacking thanks to the ceiling over their head. Getting it into a shelf and knocking it over was one thing, these little display shelves were decrepit and looked flimsy anyway. Plus the only thing you had to worry about a whip was the cracking end. The rest of it was just leather and nothing more.

"Meow aren't you a looker," Chessa winked at her playfully. "If you want some dirty water be my guest," Chessa said casually as her pupils seemed to shrink ever so slightly. Was her body language giving off a frightening vibe? "But first let me ask you something real quick," Chessa said grinning like her nickname's namesake, her body language was definitely giving off bad vibes. "Do you wanna die alone, or with a friend?" she asked seriously, a tone which did not fit the whimsical looking girl. The question was not to be taken as a threat but her body language warranted caution in answering. It was a question to put into perspective the choice she had to make. On the one hand she could go out on her own and even at the end of this, die alone and miserable in some hole. On the other hand, she could atleast have some company during her final moments surrounded by other people, friends if she allowed it.

Chessa's body was tensed and poised to move if she didn't like how Needle answered. Regardless of whether or not she wanted to be a lone wolf, if she wanted to hurt them, Chessa wasn't going to just let her. And if she got the chance, she wasn't going to lose sleep over putting down a risk to their survival.

Meanwhile, Daniel continued to listen to what the group was saying and planning. "W-what about the people still scavenging the b-buildings? L-like my sister? I-I can't leave her behind," Daniel stammered nervously. It was his sense of self-preservation that kept him from simply running off to look for his sister. He was also aware of the potential dangers that could be lying in wait for any stragglers. He couldn't tell if there were any close by but that didn't mean there wasn't anyone there. "C-could we atleast find her before leaving? Please?" he asked with more determination.

Ooc: ok uh rose is not in this but mackenzie is.

Mackenzie smiled a little and nodded. " sure ....uh just follow me" she says and starts to lead them in the dire tion she felt her gut instinct was telling her to go. It wasn't long for her to notice the difference in the colorations of the dirt showing that the dirt has moisture in it.
