The soldiers followed manic the best they could as they shot at him even shooting at the car until the flash bomb went off stopping them from seeing what they were shooting at. The leader clenched her teeth rubbing her eyes as the soldiers tried to regain their sight Red Star being the first to regain sight flew into the air then looking for the one who threw the bomb

Manic wasn't at all fond of being stopped in his tracks. But there was little he could do with a Russian troop so obsessed with carving bullet holes through him. Manic remained where he was, hidden behind a car, and remained there even when the gunfire had momentarily stopped. He wasn't at all too sure what was going on, but chancing stepping out right away was not an option. After a few moments he would then dash away in a blur, and in doing so he would gain a grasp of the current situation. There was a girl firing towards the troops, all of whom appeared to be stunned somewhat. Even so, one versus that many in a shootout was a tad unfair. Manic would dash past Mav like a race car, calling out with; "Thanks!" before he diverted his path towards the troops. A section of them anyway, hoping to knock a section of them over, and perhaps draw their gunfire away from the girl.

She didn't identify him earlier, but when Red Star flew up from the group, Mav finally realized the Russians had a metahuman on their side. It should have been obvious from the start. They had been playing the same card ever since the war began. At least this time it was an actual Russian super. But now was not the time to worry about those small details. The hero hiding behind the car made his move, revealing himself to be a speedster. That would be handy.

Up above Red Star has looking for her for sure. She could feel it. She didn't know if the speedy hero had anything that could reach him. Right now, the one in the best position to literally shoot him down was Mav. She'd gladly take up that responsibility and figured she'd let the other hero handle the soldiers on the ground. She dashed out of her hiding place, aimed up and fired shots at the airborne metahuman. She wasn't expecting to hit him easily, but she made sure to move further from the university as she ran, hoping she could draw him away from that place.

Manics plan worked incredibly well as many of the troops fell over many others turning to the blur trying and failing to shoot it as they tried shooting him persistently. Red Star was watching manic raising his hand up charging up a radiation blast but before he could fire he was shot at and he quickly moved to dodge the bullets but they all slashed at his clothes and skin.

The Soldiers were floored at least, dazed and maybe a little bit confused as well. It was enough. Manic wasn't one to seek vengeance through death, but having them subdued for a small while was good enough. Looking up towards Red Star, the Speed Star called out. "D'ya want to like... come back down to solid ground... so I can like... hit you an' stuff". A very well put request, very gentlemanly. Manic wanted this ruddy rapscallion to meet him in a duel of fisticuffs!

For some reason the other hero was calling out Red Star to come down. That probably confirmed he didn't have a way of dealing with fliers. Mav was pretty sure the Russian was unlikely oblige, but at least his words would distract him probably. She reloaded the gun she "borrowed" and opened fire another round at Red Star. If he didn't fly down on his own, she would just have to continue trying to shoot him down.

Red Star tied to continue to dodge but then looked to Manic as he tried to get his attention no longer paying attention to Mav. This was good for her but bad for him as she reloaded and unloaded many bullets in his side, arm and leg. he grabbed his side in pain the pain distracting him from his flying and he fell to the ground allowing Manic to attack him or anyone really as he laid on his back on the ground.

"Stay down, would ya?". In a burst of speed, Manic disappeared from the scene completely. He had departed, though only momentarily as he wanted to get some distance between himself and Red Star - a lot of distance, several miles to be exact. But he would soon be making the journey back, heading straight towards Red Star as he did his best to remain at his top speed. When Red Star came into sight, Manic would ball up his fist as he prepped to strike Red Star with a fierce punch - though there were no guarantees that Manic would hit his target.

Mav finally got him, though she was slightly concerned about his injuries. As far as she knew, there was no explanation yet why former heroes were working with Russia to attack the city. If it turned out they were just being controlled somehow, accidentally killing a former hero wouldn't look cool in her resume. Luckily, he looked like he was still alive when he fell to the ground. She'd let the speedster take care of finishing him off.

She switched her sights to woman who seemed to be the commanding officer there. If she could take her down too, then it would all the better for their situation. There were still a few more soldiers though. Mav decided to save her ammunition and brought out her baton to rush them. She expected to be shot at, but her protective aura would take care of any gunfire aimed at her. She hoped the surprise of bullets just bouncing off her would catch the soldiers off guard and allow her to get a few hits in and knock them out.

Red Star slowly got back up to his feet as Manic left his sights. While Mav wasn't looking he rose his hand that glowed with radiation aiming to shoot the girl in the head. As he was about to fire Manic hit hard sending him down to the ground just as hard and he hit his head on the hard ground knocking him out.

Things went just as planned for Mav the bullets bounced out shocking the soldiers as they were knocked out. But what she didn't expect happened. The woman took off her gloves and the soldiers quickly ran off from the woman as she held her hands far apart and clapped them then together sending a shock wave at mav that would be able to move up to a ton of weight but if it hit mav it would sent her flying but not too far and only feel like a punch hit her. The knock back wasn't the part you had to worry about though, its what you would be flying towards is what you had to worry about.

Manic would now stand over a fallen Red Star, wringing his hand out as he himself had felt quite a bit of force when his fist came into contact with the meta. Hopefully this meant that Red Star was down and out, the thought of having to land another punch didn't sit well with Manic seeing as how that last one felt. By the time Manic turned to look towards the other hero, the shockwave was getting nearer and nearer, and he wasn't sure he cold make it there in time. "MOVE YOURSELF!". Perhaps something of a heads up will give the hero enough warning to act.

Mav heard the warning in addition to feeling hostile intentions from both sides. She didn't expect the woman to be a metahuman too but as she read the incoming attack, she was slightly relieved that it wasn't as dangerous as it seemed. Her aura still active, she braced herself for impact as the force that would have sent her flying was negated. This did not mean however that she canceled out the entire attack. She still felt a little shaken by the vibrations. The part of the shock wave in contact with the ground also still went through and caused Mav to stumble and fall on her back.

Mav scrambled to get back on her feet right away but this new revelation made approaching the woman commander a little trickier. She was saving it for later but it looked like she needed it sooner. She prepped the gun she obtained earlier and made a dash towards the woman again. This time, she fired shots to interrupt whenever the commander attempted to clap her hands for that shock wave attack.

The woman was displeased her attack didn't do more but she shook it off grinning as she went to clap again but was shot at. She barely dodged the bullets narrowing her eyes as she tilted her head to the side as she threw her hand forward as she snapped her fingers a narrow more focused and much more focused shock wave heading right at mav now and the heroes would learn that chances are any sound this woman makes with her hands would make a dangerous shock wave.

In a green-blue blur would Manic speed past Mav and grab a hold of her to be sure that the more focused shock wave attack didn't connect. Once it passed, Manic left Mav in the same spot where she was before, and went on to run towards the woman. Here he would simply run around her, around and around, over and over again as a distraction to allow the other hero some time for whatever it is she may have planned, ready to move when necessary.

Mav didn't even have time to thank the speedster as he quickly saved her from the incoming shock wave. Now she had to her part while the woman was distracted. She closed in hoping she wouldn't hit the other hero by accident. As she got into position, she proceeded to do two things simultaneously. With her right hand, she reached into her pocket for her stun gun and tossed it to the right side, yelling, "Catch!". With her left hand, she swung the gun she had been firing earlier from the left, aiming to smash it to the side of the woman's head, to knock her out. If the woman turned her attention to the thing Mav tossed, she'd get hit by Mav's swing. If she ignored it and focused on Mav, hopefully the speedster would catch it and know what to do with it.
